    I would love to see you try the tinfoil and heat gun method! It works much better and faster! It takes a 2 hr project and takes it down to in most cases 10 mins with the Citrus Strip and several mins with the heat gun/tinfoil. It's the method I used for the ones I did. I learned it from Makers Gonna Learn (LIVE: ETCHING COATED TUMBLERS WITH YOUR CRICUT! No Laser needed ) then altered it for each tumbler. :) They used StarCraft Permanent Vinyl which seems to stick better and I didn't have any leakage. I do like the fact that you used the heat gun to kinda bond the vinyl to the tumbler a little, I don't think they did that in their video. I love your videos. You are always so through. Thanks again!

      You really should not use heat with Citristrip as that is heating a chemical.

    Hi Angie! Great video as always! I am wondering if it is possible to leave the Citristrip on for too long? If the stencil is down nice and tight & the item is completely wrapped in Cricuts stencil vinyl would I be able to just put the Citristrip on before bed & leave it sit overnight? If anyone has tried this please let me know how it turned out!

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před rokem

      I have not left it that long. I think I would be afraid for it to sit that long?

  • @Crafts-and-cocktails
    @Crafts-and-cocktails Před rokem +2

    What do you think about leaving it overnight? Or using a heat gun? I also saw some who used a scouring sponge but it looked like it had so many scratches.
    And like many have said….thank you for doing this and sharing with us. You explain things so well.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před rokem +1

      I didn't have any that I think would have to be left overnight. I don't like the heat gun idea as you really should not heat chemicals like Citristrip for safety reasons. I tried SO MANY THINGS in my house. I didn't really like the scouring sponge.

    • @Crafts-and-cocktails
      @Crafts-and-cocktails Před rokem

      @@AngieHolden thank you. I watched The Lone Fox and he used the heat gun and the strip on wood but never thought about the chemical aspect. Will leave that alone. Thanks for confirming the scouring pad.

  • @shellylisano19
    @shellylisano19 Před rokem +1

    Could you reapply more Citristrip to the areas like the waterbottle that you discover didn't release the paint well as long as you hadn't removed the stencil? It seems like that would solve the issue of the paint not removing in that area without wasting the piece.

    • @AngieHolden

      The coating itself should be fine. However, you never want to add any insulated tumbler to the dishwasher so be careful there.
