i studied Animations and Graphics design in college, the standard software that they use is 3Ds and maya, being the rebellious little shit that i am, i keep using blender for every single assignment (Modelling, Compositing, motion tracking, etc), most of the lecturer are surprised that a single free software can do so much

yeah between unity and blender you can make epic games, blender is already used for feature length films, i think next gen was the first film done fully in blender. It wasn't the only tool they used but yeah Blender is simply amazing.

I'm a photographer and I'm just starting to use Blender and getting into 3D creation. I think it's just magical and incredibly fascinating to play with light and bend it at your will. I can't get enough of it.
as someone starting to get into blender for 3d animation, its amazing what you can do even as a total beginner!! There are hundreds of tutorials out there all for free!! This is the future!!
I'm impressed. You went from almost no info on the other video to a highly detailed, in-depth showcase of studios using Blender and how they are using it. I'm a Blender user for years and I didn't know most of the info you showed us on this video. Tangent Animation Studio is also a great example you could have shown with their Netflix "Next Gen" full-feature animation. Congrats dude, and please keep up the good work 😊

I've been using unreal engine 4 to try and make games to start off my journey in animation/games but it keeps giving me lighting errors! So now I'm gonna move over to blender to start off small. Then use unreal later on when I feel satisfied and more confident in animation
You should start with Unity, it's simpler.

I used to use maya and cinema 4D but when blender 2.79 i left all of the softwares to switch to blender ,i use blender for arch viz and car design it just does not make sense to pay 195
no how something looks has entirely to do with the tenderer. Not the package used to model and design them.
@no Its not the support that needs to use Maya or Max. Its the existing pipeline wich to change is a high risk and big effort to work properly. But this video is not about how good or bad Blender is, but how its used for. And fact is, that Blender is used more and more in studios, even in small studios, but this makes Blender for other companies interesting. So far i know, is Redshift,or even now Maxon working on an Bridge for Blender. So the more companies using Blender, the more third party software is avaiable for Blender. Maybe in future we have also a version of Arnold for Blender. And you see it right now. With the big financial support from Nvidia, the RTX integration into Blender is now implemented. Also epicgames is comming with a lot of money, so i think we can expect a better Blender - Unreal implementation in the near future, what Blender makes even more interesting for gamedevelopers. When you look back for ten years, nobody in industrie wasted one minute to think about using Blender in their projects. Now many studios using it regularly, even only for fast blockout and first lookdev, for further detailed work in the pipeline with Max or Maya. Blender is not yet the big dealer, but i think in future it will be used more and more.

Blender have a plugin for motion tracking, but its a bit confusing if you're not familiar with the tools yet

But at the same time, they're actively wasting our time (or at least, not spending it as efficiently as they could) by not bringing us up to speed with the direction tech is heading in, with real-time rendering (and _cough_ software that isn't sluggish).

You should do a comparison between the graph editors & keying set in Maya & blender, let Blender users know that their software sucks for character animation especially it's unintuitive to use for keyframing, it add extra keys to your channels and doesn't have non keyable options, it deselects your curves whenever you add a key, if you key from the properties panel they disappear in the graph editor, it has an annoying 2d cursror, setting up keying sets for custom parts is slow and complicated...etc and lets not talk about performance , animation layers,or how Blender doesn't have good rigs with nice GUIs, & everything is just bones with custom shapes that's cluttering the viewport.
Spent few days in Blender then went straight back to Maya.

No it's not, it's actually worse in most fields. Blender's performance is terrible, the UV tools are ass, the rigging tools are outdated, the particle system is a joke and the retopo tools are half-assed. Blender users are a cult of deluded kids who don't know any better, don't take their word for granted.
