One thing that took me some time to realize is this, sometimes they absolutely know you are better than them, they have nothing to offer you so they just reject you. Fear of abadonment, getting close to people etc, insecurities, so they go deal with someone lesser than you, but someone they know they are better than so it keeps them on a high level. Rejection isnt always a bad thing! You deserve better.

Just like you said I used the rejection for motivation and started my business. It's starting to grow and I don't miss her. I won't take her back but I do speak nice to her when we do talk. I was married for 17 years. Completely faithful, and loyal. She decided she wanted out. I strongly suspect she was seeing someone else. Ended in divorce.
It was devastating, and very hard to deal with. It took a long time to heal from that one.

Hey Fire blade. I would say approximately 1 year or so. Maybe a little, maybe a little more. Divorced in Sept., and the upcoming holidays were really hard to handle. I went through all of these emotions. First was a heavy sadness, loneliness, empty, confused, low self- esteem, etc... Then came extreme anger, and resentment at her. It started to soak in what she did, and how cold she did it. Gradually, slowly, My self esteem was built up, and I started to embrace my hobbies again. I started to feel like I wanted to meet women again. I went no contact with the ex. I to this day, never have looked her up on any social media, or online. I have no clue even if she is alive, or where she is. It has been 4 years now, and it all seems like a bad surreal dream. I will say that whatever you are feeling is completely normal, whatever emotion it is. People talk trash about how you should just move on, forget about it, and suck it up, and quit being a pansie. Do not listen to them. This may even include family members. Unless one has been through it themselves, they have no idea at all what it is like, none. Be patient with yourself, do not beat yourself up for how you feel, or what you could, or should have done. It is ok to talk to a counselor if you feel the need. Stay strong, and go easy on yourself. The process takes time.
