That’s how I look at it now. When I was with my ex I felt like I couldn’t truly be myself. I wasn’t appreciated or respected. As men we place respect on such a high level, we not only want it we need it. And when our women do us wrong it’s hard to let that go. But the relationships that go this way should be easy to move on from, you lose the baggage that was holding you back and you gain back your freedom and honor and overall true self.

11:13 - it had taken me a while to reach that place mentally. Admittedly there are days I still struggle. One of the ways I continue is that I helps is just asking myself, “what do I do, outside of career, that makes my own life be enough to make me happy regardless of who would want to share it?” I have taken up piano, sailing, do my workouts, nutrition and much more. In the end, I find myself kicking myself for putting so much value in having a woman in times past.

Really needed to hear this one. I did everything right for this girl I dated for 6 months. Was always in my masculine frame, led the relationship, was her shoulder to cry on, took her on weekend trips etc and she ended up ghosting me after I called her out for disrespectful behavior. For me what made her special was the attention and effort she gave to me in the beginning of our relationship. She made me feel special and wanted. Of course after the honeymoon phase ended it started going to shit and she eventually broke up with me.
That's called love bombing, many narcissistic women do this at the beginning of a relationship. They make you feel special, like you're a king, tell you things like "I've never been so happy with someone before", the sex is usually amazing etc but it's all a facade and typically drops around the 4th month.
