And we both agree they're not super stars. But the pressure is on the super stars because it's their job to do THEIR job EVERY NIGHT. So an Anthony Davis getting into foul trouble forces role players into HAVING to fill shoes that aren't their size. To be fair as well.. the rotations shrink in the playoffs.. so that doesn't help them get into the kind of groove you'd see in the regular season. I do think the role players need to step up.. but the stars need to close out a 20 point lead on the road.

Jamal came up clutch when they needed him to do so. Other guys put the ball in the basket enough and the whole team kept the Lakers down enough to tie and then win the game. You can have Jamal and Joker play their best and the Nuggets lose. A lot of the time, your two best players playing their best and the rest of the team well below results in losses, not wins.

Who is a role player on the team? Because I do expect guys who brought you to the playoffs to play up to their capabilities in some games. Basketball is best with balanced scoring so that everyone gets involved. Joy is saying the starters, especially Reaves, has to play better. Reaves is the 3rd or 4th best player on the team, depending on what night it is, so he should be expected to get more than 9 points in the game. Reaves is capable of 16/6/8 and that's what I want to see out of him. Rui is capable of at least 10 points and rebounds as well. So, Joy is not saying they should put up the type of numbers as Bron or AD or DLo on a good night, but just put up more than they are. What's so wrong with that? And has the bench done anythng beyond Prince? A really good team has a solid 6th man and the Lakers don't have that.
What about Lebron chucking up a wide open 3-pointer with 17 seconds left on the shot clock? No mention of that anywhere from the LeMedia.

He didn't score in the 4Q. It isn't blaming him it is saying he had it going so what happened? Also, AD is the best player on the Lakers now. LeBron is past his prime. He's still great but AD is the best player.

You all forget the one reason. AD did not disappear in the 4th. He touched the ball like 2 times because at 8 minutes left in the 3rd Malone called a TO and subduedly switch AG on AD and SG shut down AD in a defensive school. That was the turning point.

They didn't play their best game. Their second half was a struggle. A bunch of guys on their team didn't play up to their capabilities. If Rui plays up to his capabilities, the Lakers win. If Reaves goes into "I'm Him" mode, the Lakers win. If Dinwiddie gets it going off the bench, the Lakers win. It's not a one man game even if the superstars ball out and your starting PG is knocking down most of his 3s. Lakers couldn't score over stretches of the game and at times AD said they didn't know what they were doing. So, let's stop this myth that the Lakers played their best game.
