Love this. I did a 90 day break. Went to the Calcutta Cup at Twickenham right in the middle of the programme. We lost the game. I have been before many times. First time sober. Best ever experience I've had there despite losing, being surrounded by Jocks and not drinking! Say no more.

This incredible. I'm 7 years clean, my wife is 6 years clean. I've been held hostage, lost my son to the ministry, lost the cars, the house, the money, the business, my wife left to a life on the street where she spent 18 months escaping extreme domestic and gang violence. She ended up pregnant and clawed her way out, she had to escape for two now. we spent 5 years apart healing in recovery. we've been back together for 2 years now and after losing all, today, we closed on a home. I run this podcast in a beautiful studio, full time thanks to a bunch of great organizations in my community. I have a life I never saw coming. its possible. It's an epic adventure. We can recover.

One thing not talked about - and I think important to interject - are substances in diet that neutralize alcohol, I live in Japan a very alcohol based culture so much so they offer sake rice wine to the gods. Ukon - tumeric - which I grow on my farm detoxes alcohol, umeboshi, miso all break it down in the body to safe levels. There's a flipside that Western cultures have no understanding of as their diets are so unhealthy. Just my viewpoint as sake is so good for you, it's alcohol yet packed with amino acids so beneficial for health. They've drank it for thousands of years.

False. Prudent consumption is very healthy. Over consumption is not. Some consumption is healthy. I'm speaking beer, wine, and liquor. Quality matters. Age matters. Individual circumstances matter.

Haven't watched this, so apologies for jumping the gun; maybe there is much more nuance than the title suggests. But I haven't drank for 3 years--I wasn't a big drinker anyway but I still stopped--it hasn't given me an edge at all. I'm still tired when I wake up, I'm still dehydrated if I didn't drink enough the day before. I think the only way quitting booze could 'give you the edge' is if you weren't previously able to control your drinking AT ALL.
