    I have zero interest in a sleep tracker that requires a subscription, which all of these do. Yes there are a few nice features. No I don't want to pay for them over and over and over again.

    I love the idea of the ring, because I feel pretty uncomfortable with a watch on my wrist, that alone would deteriorate my sleep even more, but I hate the idea of having to pay a subscription to track sleep, that is crazy. Hope they create one in a future without the subscription.

    Good information, however you have only mentioned the Apple watch how about people who use Android devices. There are significantly more people using Android than Apple, why suggest a product that only a third of people can use? Would it not be better to look at a device that can be used on both such as Fitbit or Garmin?

    You do an amazing job of explaining the 3 "best" sleep trackers. I'm sure it's very time consuming to do these studies and I'm glad youre doing it. I simply can't afford these 3 and have been looking for a watch or ? that will track all of my sleep. My last 2 watches claimed to but naps are only viewed on a separate app. Do any but the very expensive devices track "naps" along with "sleep"? Marketing doesn't say so I have to take a risk and buy something, not knowing if it includes all sleep. If you can't tell, I'm an old geezer;-) (can't even use the happy face below;-).

    • @SleepIsTheFoundation
      @SleepIsTheFoundation  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for the kind words! And yes, the Whoop and Oura will actively track your naps. You don't need to do anything separate. The Apple Watch is, as I say in the review, a little rudimentary in its sleep tracking capabilities, so naps are a little trickier. Fingers crossed Apple makes some improvements there.

    • @SleepIsTheFoundation

      Great question, James. More or less, yes, they all gave me about the same results. Some minor variances here and there with HRV scores and sleep times, but nothing out of the ordinary. I really do think it comes down to which device fits your lifestyle.

    Great review and comparison! I had mine for almost 4 years and I can't be any more satisfied. I love my Oura, helps me improve my sleeping patterns and determines when I need to recover. With it, I figured out how my food intake can also affect my sleep and recovery so it actually benefits a lot of factors towards health and wellness. It's still working fine and efficiently 'cause I protected it with OSleeve. I figured it's such an investment for almost $300 a piece so might as well care for it. Yes! If you don't wear it during the daytime, you lose a more comprehensive wellness picture. So thinking here about how your daily activity levels may or may not impact your sleep and how much sleep you need. But overall, just wearing this while you sleep will give you an excellent picture of many different aspects of your sleep.

    Oura' diabolical customer service and ridiculous price + subscription make it a nogo.
    I don't want to pay $300 for a device that fails every 1-2 years on top of a subscription. Either make it subscription w/ 100% device replacement or I pay more for a device with a 3yr warranty, no subscription. And, either way, customer service to back that up.
    I'd be perfectly fine paying $500 for a 3yr warranty. But $600 for me to assume all the risk and play subscription games with an app? Delay features? GFYS Oura.
