3:27 what you heard was the American version of the 1st ever Pokemon anime theme song. The western version has a very almost 80s Rock style with the guitars and vocals. :3 I love the American version of the lyrics because I feel like they capture the spirit of what Pokemon is all about:
"You're my best friend in a world we must defend! Yeah! It's you and me! I know it's my destiny! You teach me and I'll teach you! Pokemon! Gotta catch them all! Gotta catch them all! Pokemon!"
Before the Pokemon chant, the song is about respecting your Pokemon as your friend and learning from each other.
5:47 Sonic is not a popular character in Japan, that's why you didn't know, i think it's because SEGA of America interfered with character creation in the 90s, and made more appeal for success only in the Western gaming market. If you're interested, you should react to the video: "How Sonic was born."
Some countires make their own versions of opening theme songs for anime. My home country germany has their own theme songs for Digimon, Conan, One Piece, Pokemon, Dragonball, Jeanne etc.. Could be a interesting video idea to react to the different versions of anime songs like the german, english, spanish and french ones.
That would really be interesting to watch. But maybe problematic because of Gema and other rigth holders of the music 😂
But maybe react to translations of the german Text wozld be interesting since a lot of our german intros have the same melodies as in japan

You sing so well. I can also sing in Japanese even though i'm Canadian. And yes,the Pokemon theme song is very different here from Japan,but I always find way to watch Pokemon in Japanese because I love learning Japanese. So far,i'm the only one who know how to speak Japanese here in Canada. I know the Japanese Pokemon theme song by heart. I have even sung an English cover of the Code Geass opening and Death Note opening.

Edit: 3:52 I'll indulge since you asked so nicely 😊 My favourite & most memorable Pkmn song in my mind is "Black & White" the first english opening song for the 14th season based on the Pokémon Black and White games, I love listening to the full version from the 14th movie! so much nostalgia 😍

The pokemon theme song is called "Gotta Catch Em All!" Which is very different from the japanese version. It's a little more intense too

In my country - Slovenia - we were growing up with English version of Pokemon opening (the one you heard in the video). We had Slovenian dub but all of the songs were English version. And Pokemon movies we watched were also English dubbed but with Slovenian subtitles.

I feel like you could have cutout the middle man there.

I mean people who speak English complain about the English dubs and talk about how the subs are better,

Yes, and not only Pokemon. On TV we had Yu-gi-oh! and Beyblade and other anime dubbed in English, with Slovenian subtitles 😂. I guess it was easier to translate from English than Japanese and maybe easier to get it. Now anime we have on TV is dubbed in Slovenian, but we have 1 or 2 anime, aimed for children (e.g. Yokai Watch). And our dub is really bad.
I'm also laughing 😂. We mostly have subtitles on our TV and in cinema (unless it's children's show or our original show), so tourists are probably really happy. That's why we know lots of languages. But to tell the truth our Slovenian dub is really bad. I'd rather listen to English dub.
That Pokemon piano piece is based on the American dub. You should do a reaction video on American pokemon music, Shugy-san. Also, Mario is a household name outside of Japan outpacing Sonic except in Europe. Sonic used to be king of the 1990s!!

In germany we have many anime intros which use the same Song as in Japan but with german lyrics
For example Digimons Butter Fly is called "Leb deinen traum" which translates to "live your dream". We also gace two translations for Dan-Dan. One which is more literal to the japanese lyrics (which I LOVE. It is called "Hand in Hand" which is the same as saying holding hands. And it is sung by Thommy Morgenstern Who voices goku in DBZ) and one Version which I always think is just supposed to sound nice but doesn't really have anything to do with the original Text
We also have anime where the intros stayed Japanese (for example Vision of escaflowne or Evangelion (zankoku na tenshi no these is amazing)
And sometimes we just take tue american Version of the intro and do german Text for them (like pokemon)

Agreed, Jadenanimations the Anime came out not long ago. She even had a song commissioned for it, one that's free to be used by anyone. Won't spoil the rest, but trust me, if you like Jaden's work, you'll LOVE this! I got the song not long after it came out, have listened to it every day since! And the animation? Likely the best she's done to date! You made a great video here, but you NEED to see this video of Jaden's...and if you could react to it, I'd be very pleased to see that too!
