In one Episode of Spongebob, Squidward's face is damaged in a way that he looks Handsome. That became a Joke on the internet because people loved the funny face of "Handsome Squidward". Jaiden's Pokemon "Squidward" here turns into Handsome Squidward.

I think that may be true. Teriyaki survived the entire run.
But corn and onion did not. 😅 Maybe it only works for Japanese foods.

I personally recommend her "First Tour" video about going on Tour with "Scribble Showdown" because it has a lot as far as Storytelling.

Teriyaki survived cause the food teriyaki taste great, Onion died cause no likes eating onions, Corn died cause only a few like eating corn
Explanation about naming your pet after a food rumor: So in my other comment, a lot are saying "what about onion or corn". It's possible that in order for the rumor to work, the food name to be chosen should be something unique and special and not something simple. Jaiden named Torchic "Teriyaki" which is not just a food but a recipe while on the other hand, she named Shroomish/Breloom and Seedot/Nuzleaf "Onion" and "Corn" which is simple and blant and honestly, onion and corn are more considered "ingredients" than "food". Jaiden could've easily named Torchic "Chicken" or "Spicy Chick" or "Drumstick" or something in the same caliber but instead she named it "Teriyaki", a food that is quite literally legendary and well known. So that's probably why Teriyaki lived to the very end but Onion and Corn didn't. But even with that, Onion and Corn, despite dying quite early still managed to outlive some of Jaiden's Pokemon such as Mawille or "Chomps" and Whismurr or "Hush Child" so in a sense, the rumor DID worked on the two, Teriyaki just lived the longest since he is named after a special kind of food. Then again, what do I know? I'm not even Japanese

The challenge obtained the term Nuzlocke after a webcomic artist (specifically the one who popularized the challenge) documented his experience through Pokémon Ruby. He had a Nuzleaf on his team named ‘Nuzlocke’ and often drew the Pokémon with the face of the character John Locke from the series LOST. The Nuzleaf with John Locke’s face often stated, “I believe this is all happening for a reason.”
