My first Nuzlocke was Alpha Sapphire. The way I named my Pokémon was taking parts of their Japanese names. My Swampert was named Numa for Numacraw(Marshtomp), Mightyena was named Pochi for Pochiena(Poochyena), Gardevoir was named Night for Sirnight(Gardevoir), Altaria was named Alis for Tyltalis(Altaria), Manectric was name Kurai for Rakurai(Electrike) and Lileep was named Yurad for Yuradle(Cradily), Lileep was an add in after my Breloom was killed.

It's true that most Pokémon have different names in English than they do in Japan. They also have different names in French, German, Korean, and Chinese.

Yes agreed, have yet to try McDonald's teriyaki burgers since when I've gone to Tokyo I've stuck to getting Mos Burger...so good.

If there's only McDonald's nearby, I'll still ear teriyaki there. But, I prefer Mos Burger (Quality is much better✨)

I had a Thievul named L Lawliet after the character of the same name. It was in Pokemon Sword and Shield. He survived on one hp from Leon's Gigantamax Charizard and one shot it after,leading me to my victory. I also happen to have a Misdreavus named Karma and won against the gym leaders with just him.
