Are we sure Luigi was horrified? He was clearly smiling upon seeing Shy Guy's true face.
It was an awkward smile since it would've been rude to scream at his face(probably the reason he's shy in the first place) plus it would've ruined the celebration.
You can tell by how Luigi backs up and looks uneasy the smile isn't genuine.

I am with you boys on most of these thoughts... except for Nabbit.
In Bowser Jr.'s Journey, Junior says we wants Nabbit in his army. I don't think it would make sense for Jr. to recruit Nabbit as a temporary minion if they're one and the same. Then again, Dry Bowser is somehow a minion and close family friend of Bowser, so what do I know.

My personal theory about why Daisy left Sarasaland:
You know how it's mentioned in Mario Party 3 that she has a dad? I believe that after the events of SML, her dad didn't think she was ready to handle running a kingdom, and didn't want her in danger again. So the King is currently in charge of Sarasaland, while he let Daisy move out to the Mushroom Kingdom; where he thinks it's safer for her.
Plus she's free to play sports, party, kart racing, harass Luigi, and do whatever she wants. Daisy doesn't seem like the type to want the responsibility of ruling anyway. She would rather go on fun adventures than sit on a throne all day.

Thats almost entirely debunked since Shy Guy ghosts in Luigi's mansion are shown to be one of the mooks that Vincent Van Gore draws. Its just his interpretation of what's under their masks.

1. Shy guys arms are similar to a boos arms.
2. Luigi was scared when he saw shy guys face, and Luigi is scared of ghosts.
3. Boos can possess things because they are ghosts, and maybe that explains the masks moving face.

Maybe Nabbit is bowser junior but from another dimension and he was good in that dimension so he had to disquise himself as nabbit and went into this dimension. Another part is that bowser junior hid as nabbit and that was corrupting him so he was bad-ish when he appeared but became nicer and helped. Also he is invincible because something with the portal happened when he changed dimensions.

I believe that Daisy still rules her kingdom, BUT, when she goes to hang out with the Mario Gang, she leaves a trusted royal advisor in charge, which maybe a similar plan to who watches the Mushroom Kingdom in the absence of Peach. If Peach is getting captured so often, and can’t escape very quickly, why not have an energy ruler to watch her Kingdom?
Nabbit can't be Bowser Jr., Nabbit fights Bowser jr.. If he was, he'd be from a future part of the Mario timeline.

Blue toad was the most psychotic, broken down, emotionally dead character Nintendo has ever given it's consumers in the form of a Super Mario Bros. game. Blue toad's smile is so clearly fake, faker than any other video game character. Simply by reading into his pupils, you can tell he tries to convey his depression and self hatred without flat out saying it as well as he can. Plus, he's been removed multiple times, literally fired from his job and for what? Clearly because Nintendo can't take such a dead-inside character in their largest franchise.
