- Hey guys welcome to a very special video where I go over some of the weirdest/strangest secrets that you can find in each and every single Super Mario Bros titles. This actually started as a different video idea until I realized truely how weird some of these things you can come across are, leading me to revamp things into this madness. I think the missing hat for the Wii was a more literal take on the phrase "hats off to you!"
Going hatless at maximum lives is a reference to the old phrase, “hats off to you” for your accomplishment.
The pipe in the lost levels isnt really a wrong warp. A wrong warp takes you somewhere it's not supposed to, the one in TLL says it takes you to world one and does take you to world one. A wrong warp would be if it said 1 above the pipe but it took you to anything but one.
That's just the devs trolling players for trying to break the game lol. "Ohh you think you're so cool jumping over the end? Well, no glitches this time bud, do it all again. Mwahahaha"
Um actually it's a mario game so it'd be bwahahaha duh 😂😂😂

I know I'm soooooo far behind in video games but I just recently did Superstar Saga and Bowsers Minions, I got everything to level 99 hoping it would trigger some hidden boss fight or other secret. I think most of the games should have something like that for the grinders.
Super Mario Sunshine you get a cool shirt and a pair of sunglasses when you 100% it
Mostly just sparkling stars or badges on your save file.
In NSMB ds you get the hint to play as luigi at the end of the credits.
Its far more well known that you can play as luigi in that game than that game having a challenge mode
Yeah, Luigi is basically a new game+ feature, same as in Suoer Mario Galaxy. Defeating the W2 or W5 bosses as mini-Mario to unlock a branching path is way less obvious than Luigi!

The courtyard in Mario odyssey is a normal costume exclusive level. These levels are found in most kingdoms and are not hidden or secret at all. Its a fun easter egg but nothing more than that.
Same with the mario bros 1 “wall jump” except thats a glitch and not really a secret. Which is weird because, as he explains when talking about lost levels, in mario bros 1 he says that jumping over the flag pole the level goes on forever which he deems to be a glitch and not a secret. So idk why he includes the “wall jump” in this list

For the 8 bit Luigi sprites in 3D world, every stage has one hidden somewhere in the map. For instance i believe its the ending to the castle in world 2 where the sprites look like snow flakes falling down with the wind. They kinda glisten in the sunlight
In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario does go without hat when getting 99 lives. But Luigi still has his hat when he gets 99 lives.

After beating New Super Mario Bros., it tells you the secret to unlocking Luigi.
I think the SMW sliding killing the boo is just a function of saving memory by saying boo has the same interactions as other enemies. This is just an edge case where it doesnt make sense but its much more efficent for memory to do it this way.
Also I thought you should choose the White Coin Ship for SMB3.

The secret in SMB 2 is technically not a secret, for if like me had Nintendo power magazine these game maps would be revealed, though in the Lost levels, a secret that was a very difficult task to do without infinite 1up trick and game save was to access the lost Letter levels by beating the game without warping then the second quest opens in letter numbered levels.
6:00 this secret is actually hinted on after the end-credits
In one of the ghost house levels in SMW, there is a one block tall and IDR blocks wide. If you manage to keep the super cape until you reach that part, you need to crouch under there, and keep spinning the cape while also spamming the jump button simultaneously. This will cause you to clip under the floor, and die. (You can rewind to not die nor lose the cape when you get hit by a boo, or when you clip under the floor.)
The galaxy secret feels like a reference to Mario kart

The Luigi trick in SMBDS can also be done in the GBA version of Super Mario World
No thats not the same. In GBA Luigi is always accesible as a playable character you just press R to switch on the world map. In the DS version its a secret character only unlockeble if you know the code.

I'm not sure if this counts as a secret from Super Mario Bros 3 but the Koopalings are all immune to the projectiles from the Hammer Bro suit

Super Mario 3D Land little known secret: if you beat each level without dying a certain amount of times, the stars that show up upon completion of certain tasks on the file select (beating the game, getting all star coins, ect, there's 5 of them I believe) will sparkle and shine as opposed to just be static color
The Book in Mario Sunshine is a left over from a mission where you are supposed to collect the books but they scraped it and made it a red coin mission
U forgot the wierd screamer ghost easter egg in 3d land, i forget what level its in but if u stand at the exit in one of the ghost house levels for long enough a creepy ghost appears
No idea if it was my game or what but my copy of Super Mario 3 on SNES I remember it would only let me do it every other day (which is odd) but pressing select let me cycle through all the power ups for Mario
I tried to play Luigi without hat in Smb Wii with my brother and so we farmed 1 Ups but unfortunally it didn't happen
You have to collect 99 lives and then finish the level. If he still has his cap on the map, just enter a level.
You forgot to mention that Mario's cat suit changes so it looks like giga cat mario
my guess for the mario sunshine book is that they planned something with it, decided to scrap it and wanted to delete it only to find out some very important coding was linked to that book so they kept it in the game in an unreachable spot.
From what I heard, the original mission was to retrieve the book that the Noki Elder accidently dropped in the bottle.
When you complete New Super Mario bros for the DS at the end of the end credits when the final clip of bowser jr dragging bowser ends, it will actually show you the code in the background and it has a little green shadow of Luigi head. you just have to look close and have patience.
"Wrong warp" does not mean what you think it means. Wrong Warps involve messing with the game's memory in such a way that you are teleported to an unintended location. The warp in Lost Levels was intentionally put there by the developers and, like many other things about the game, is meant to punish overly curious players. It's not a "Wrong Warp", it's simply a warp pipe that takes you backwards instead of forwards.

The book in Super Mario Sunshine is actually an abandoned mission idea for the bottle. They replaced it with red coins.
Also, L is Real is not what the plaque says, it says Eternal Star.
Technically it was introduced in the arcade before the NES
To answer your response about Rewards in Every Mario Game, make a video on that! I won't miss it for any other Mario video on CZcams, not even new Mario Movie TV spots! Besides, I've seen enough footage as the movie is less than three weeks away from premiering in theaters!

@@meganforest4643 Well, there are some rewards that are surprising the first time you see them, but not so surprising now.
Also in Mario 3d land 3ds if you complete the game and die less than 5 times on each level the stars you have on you save game file will shine
I'm sure these things have already been pointed out at least once or twice, but just on the very slim chance they haven't I'll mention them anyway. The SMB1 "secret" is a glitch, and Miyamoto already spilled the beans on that book in Sunshine many years ago. It was intended to be obtained in another mission that ended up being scrapped. Since remnants of that scrapped mission are nowhere to be found in the games' data (at least as far as I'm aware), I must assume that it was altered and became the short bottle mission that we got. They probably left the door and book there because they thought it would be a cool easter egg for gamers to find, and if so they were absolutely right. I love that they kept them in the game, and if we ever get a Sunshine remake or remaster, I hope they remain in that version as well. I'll honestly be extremely disappointed if they remove them.

-as someone else already mentioned, nsmb literally tells you how to play as luigi once you beat the game, the challenge mode is a way more obscure feature than luigi

the wall jump in mario 1 is not a "secret" lol, it's just a product of how the NES worked, mario gets his foot stuck in the wall for a few frames, and you you press jump turning those the game 'thinks' he is touching the ground so he jumps

It isn't a monkey suit, it's a Tanuki Suit, and it isn't a secret; the instruction manual tells you about it. They're just rare.
Even though the new, super Mario games are a bit lackluster to the majority of the public even though I disagree 😂. They are not sub-series games. The sports titles along with games like Mario + Rabbids are the spinoff / Sub-Series games. A good example is how they always market the price akin to games like Mario odyssey or even Mario Kart which is also a spin off of course, but extremely good and Nintendo knows they treat it like a main base game pricewise.
