Magnetising the minis is one of the big brain moves for anyone playing with them! Great point.
GW should really sell magnets and wet palettes, it's crazy! 🤣
Well this is awsome. I normally bend the handle against a table edge to get a nice sharp corner. These trays were really designed to ensure as little is visibile on the table as possible (conventional trays are abit in your face which i really don't like) which has the added bonus of removing the rim around the outside. Now we can really get into base to base contact.
They really are awesome trays! I probably should have done the bend like that haha! 🤘😁
@@TheHobbyGrotto Hey, as long as it works for you. :)
I do like a sharp corner though! 😆
If you are already 3d printing trays, you can modify the model to have little slots where you can glue magnets into the tray. Like say you have a bunch of 3x2mm magnets, you just need a hole slightly larger than that in your 3d printed tray that you can embed the magnet into so that it sits flush. One magnet in the middle of each spot on the tray and on each of your mini works well, or you can put 2-3 magnets in a line or triangle formation to "key" the minis so the magnets force them to always face forwards. You just need to be sure that the spacing of the magnets you use on the tray and the minis is consistent.
This doesn't have the thin profile as the trays shown in the video, but is a lot cheaper home solution if you have a printer.
This is a great suggestion, and can also be a useful method for old school square movement trays or more custom designs. Anything that gets your minis magnetized to their trays is a win in my book! 😀
I admit, I wasn't expecting those trays to be so stealthy. Really didn't see them.
I know right, some serious stealth there! 😁
Maybe they should have been called MiniMagStealthTRAYS, bit long but..
great video id rlly like to see a showcase of ur empire/freeguild models at some point
Thankyou! I do think about making more showcase vids, but then I wonder if anyone would watch them if I wasn't teaching something! 😅
@@TheHobbyGrotto id definitely watch it
As a teaser, I may have some Mordheim related humans in the pipeline 😊
They really do look cool.
They're old minis but so Warhammer classic!
Do they come in squares/rectangle? I would buy that for warhammer fantasy.
I was just thinking this would be handy with all the talk of the Old World! I'm not sure if they make those sizes but best bet would be to check out Minimagtray on Instagram, they're very responsive to inquiries 😊
what line are the skelleton army shown in the beginning from?
Those skellies are a mix of the old 5th edition Warhammer Fantasy plastic regiment as well as the Warhammer Underworlds Sepulchral Guard 😀
