  • If there is one thing people are passionate about, it's their hate or love for an HOA. Many homeowners are frustrated with the rules set before them from their neighborhood association, but other's would never live in a community where there wasn't a governing body keeping things in order. HOA's here in Georgia are a lot more affordable than many other states, and you can find a wide range of how strict or lenient they can be.

I moved from Florida to Georgia. My last home in Florida was in an HOA. I loved the order and market value it creates. I hated the abusive managers and fee increases that they can impose. I paid 600 quarterly. Just for daily fines on the color of my window curtains. A good HOA (good luck) must be a different experience. No HOA in GA has been great. But I’ve heard horror stories about moving next to neighbors who use their yards for 4wheeling. I’m currently living with no HOA and normal neighbors lol

Hi Sarah! We’re moving back to Georgia in June after being away for nearly 30 years. We already have a realtor lined up (a friend from church) but I’m enjoying your videos.
The HOA where we currently live in the Pacific Northwest is $120/year, which maintains a beachfront play area and cabana, a second park with cabana and playground, and caretakers house. The interesting side is, while we have covenants, the HOA has no real power to enforce them. The best they can do is support a neighbor who files suit against a neighbor for being out of compliance.
Like you mentioned, it’s been interesting comparing our current situation with what’s available in Georgia where we’re looking. In some ways it’s nice having just that little bit of structure, but with some of the issues that have come up that the HOA can’t do much about, I can understand why some would want a bit more. I’d like to not have to factor in an HOA payment, but if the house and amenities are right, and the rules/enforcement are reasonable (and there are enough checks and balances to prevent someone going off on a power trip), I’d be willing to pay a bit more per month.

I will not recommend anyone to get HOA or a POA I would not want anyone telling me to get one I feel like if you're paying for the home why do you need someone telling you how to paint or upkeep your property that's insane 😮

I pay $670 per month in palm beach county. It’s ridiculous!

That is expensive! There are some HOA's that charge that for the entire year. Does that include lawn maintenance?

@@JustMe-uu3bh god bless you too!, I’d rather live in my truck then deal with an HOA, I’m a firm believer that all person(s) should bear responsibility for their well being and property are they not?. I just can’t imagine someone walking up to me and saying “you have to have your trash can facing due south and exactly 1 inch from the curb”, being facetious but you get it.

ultimately we will be ok. read GWash. prophesy for America....(if I spell that out they might censor this, "the father of our Country"), read the *crystal links one, it's the 3 visions......I believe it. I learned it in church, not school! America is the chosen and we have a spiritual blessing over our country due to being founded on spiritual principles. God bless, WWG1WGA. You are wrong about HOA housing prices. I watch on Zillow every day and I have noticed that the HOA homes take longer to sell and for equal homes, they sell for less. Personally, I would never consider buying a home in an HOA. I don’t need some power hungry socialist telling me what I can do in every aspect of a home I buy. It doesn’t matter about the monthly dues, Hoa’s make more money on fines then they do on the dues. Why would you pay taxes to maintain your roads then pay an HOA even more to do the same thing?

I would love to know the towns and homes you are seeing taking longer to sell! I have many clients interested and over my past 6 years as an agent, that's not what the market is doing.
