nah, i razz. this game is a definitive evolution of the type of gameplay fnaf popularized. It might've never been made if the groundwork wasn't layed down beforehand
I honestly really love the artstyle of this game. It manages to sort of have a crust thing going on with the 3D models but at the same time it just feels so fitting to how weird and macabre this game is. Fucking love it, and the faces are genuinely haunting for some reason
i can't wait for the full game. it looks extremely interesting and unabashedly horrific, which is ironically what indie horror has been lacking for a bit.
The guy that made it is making another game called The Silkbulb Test, looks pretty good.
I read "Flathead' and all i can picture is the military bot from Cyberpunk.
I'm gonna be thinking about this comment whenever i restart and do that mission again

god damn, i love that 2x3 set of CRT TVs between the light switch and the main console.
the game looks like its kind of inspired by a combination of things including Alien and SOMA, especially with the oddly segmented face that regularly shows up on the CRT matrix. Great work, developers.

Just recently watched ManlyBadassHero play this and I thought it looked like something Vinny would like. Creepy, tense ambient horror not reliant on loud jumpscares with lots of crust. Also helps that the game's storepage art is basically Vinerizon.

I do enjoy when his need for weird games crosses over with creepy games. Although I still don't understand Flathead, it's atmosphere is certainly something.
It’s a sequel to a game called The Silkbulb Test that came out a while ago. Though having both seen a playthrough of that and Flathead’s true ending, they still honestly doesn’t explain much. It seems like this dev is aiming to make a series and is building up the lore gradually across the games.
@@iangardner2395 Oh, Silkbulb Test! That rings a bell. That was also a confusing game. I'm all onboard for odd atmosphere and lore, so I can appreciate what the dev is doing here. Hopefully they stick the landing.
@@iangardner2395 This game is more like a spin-off of Silkbulb Test, which hasn't actually come out yet, only a short demo is out and the full release looks like an almost completely different experience.

From what I've seen of this and Silkbulb Test's demo, I do hope it works out.

I have to say I absolutely love this game's whole aesthetic. What would you even call this? A surreal retrofuturist body horror? Like...
Everything about the atmosphere is perfect.
The way how everything your player character is witnessing being utterly wrong. The singularities, the flesh horrors, the strange sound, and blatant defilement of normality. All painted over with a cheerful jingle, a message from your captor telling you to be brave and embrace the future, a familiar retro casino type game.
We see when the player character fails, you're being changed. Bit by bit. Even if you delay the inevitable, whatever it is they're doing to you can't be undone.

Personally not my taste. The vibes are neat, but I don’t see anything scary or engaging with gambling.
Imo it's curated to stress you out as much as possible. Big silhouette constantly breathing down your neck and not a single choice you make completely guarantees success

@@DasAntiNaziBroetchen im a default keybind andy. the most i usually do is up the brightness all the way. i grew up on consoles, i know other people might have deep habits from early PC games where settings weren't standardized yet
