Hey my bakers.. if you happen to try this recipe just click a picture and get featured on my Insta Stories: instagram.com/spicesandflavors/
This receipt original from Morocco, it is famous and names Batbout 😍😍♥️♥️😋 greetings from Morocco
Doesn't look as thin as a Lebanese pitta nor as thick as an Egyptian pitta , but the end product seems very nice .
Good Job.
I want to make this wonderfull recipe that calls for all-purpose flour, and all I have on my shelf right now is bread flour. Is it okay to substitute bread flour for all-purpose flour? Regards from Chilean Patagonia
I have tried the recipe the second time and it came out nice. my daughter and I were excited to see it puff. Thank you again
Wow super 💜👌
I really love that you provided examples of issues that could arise during the process and how to fix them. Also, the explanation of why the dough needs to be tacky was very helpful!
Me too. I struggle with sticking
Thank you recepe,
Agreed!
Showing how tacky the dough should be was excellent!

I admire that you show even the mistakes that can happen and how to deal with them.
Thank you for the lesson!
I have made these for over a year now - thank you so much for this video! I have a stand at the local farmers market and people come to my stand JUST for these pitas! ❤ they are SO good! I changed the recipe ever so slightly to deal with my extra large batch and use a tortilla press before rolling it out :) also i do 3 at a time on a cast iron pizza stone on my stove top. I've found the dough rises in about an hour. Also 3 burners going around medium low is perfect for super soft pitas. Perhaps they take a bit longer but it avoids burn marks. 68 pitas and 100% poof rate this past week 👍
Can you share the recipe please?
Can you share your video pls
Plz share with us
Please show a receipe on how you use a tortilla press
getting the skillet to the right temperature is the trick after you've mastered making dough. And make sure you are not hungry when watching this, otherwise you might find yourself making pitas at 3 am. lol
I love that you show us how the dough sticks to your hands. Many don’t know this and they continue to add more flour ruining the recipe.
Fantastic lesson!!
i totally agree. your showing that part really helps to remind a person to be patient and why and how it will work out on the end
this is the first time i got the explanation. i'm so glad i checked this vid out. :)
I am so pleased to read your comment JennPipp.. encourages and motivates me to do even better :) thank you
I'll admit, I learned this the hard way. Ended up making hard tack instead of pita.

One of the best instructional videos with commentary ever! Wonderful and watchable thank you!

This is a very deep explanation of why you need to do things. I really appreciate that .
I just cooked 6 pita breads and they puffed. Thank you for generously sharing your knowledge. Great great explanation. ♥️♥️♥️
not just a really helpful instruction, the lady seems so utterly charming how can you not love watching this, she would be a nice neighbour
That is so kind of you .. thank you
Yes indeed, a rare thing these days..
i was thinking the same
She would be one very dangerous neighbour ( meant in the nices possible way ❤) I could just see all the good food shared over the fence and the tip of the scale rising with every visit 😂😂😂
I agree! Adorable. LOVE!
This is an exemplary cooking video. No wasted words, no fancy show, every detail attended to, perfect level of explanation of why each step is made as it is, what to do if things seem to go wrong, and above all, an excellent and reliable recipe. Thank you!
EDIT: The pitas turned out great! I cooked a half-batch and put the rest of the dough in the fridge for later. I made 6 small pitas and 4 puffed, so not bad for the first time on a griddle. I always try a recipe as written the first time, then tweak if needed, so since I use higher-protein King Arthur flours the dough was a bit drier than yours. Next time I'll add a bit more water to get a stickier texture so it's like what you show. Going to do it again next week!
So glad I found your video! I'm an experienced home bread baker but had only tried pita once a few years ago, where the recipe finished with baking in the oven. I only had a 50% success rate on the puff, but I'm betting it'll be much higher on top of the stove! There's just 20 minutes left in the first rise, so I'll update my comment in about an hour to let you know how they turned out. THANKS for such a clear video, and for including tips on how to correct anything that might go haywire. (I've taught computer software and sewing for years, and just wanted to add that you are a GREAT teacher. 🙂 )
Tienes los ingredientes que me facilites pls.? Gracias

Me too very clear procedure and like me i am newby by doing pita bread bcoz of my newly and soon to open shawarma food haws i hope i can talk to u madam❤
After several failed attempts at getting pita to puff before watching this video, I got pitas to puff! Hurray! A landmark in my baking progress!
It was healing little holes that did it, and handling the pitas more gently, and flipping the pita before bubbles developed on the first cooked side--all shown in this vid.
That is great.. feels so good to know that you watched the video so minutely and noted every step.. thank you so much for your amazing feedback.. made my day
Truly enjoyed this lesson i love how everything did not come out perfect so that we were able to know what to do when things go wrong and not just go into a panic
Very wonderful sharing 😊👍
I made these yesterday, they turned out really well, i put the ones we didn’t eat yesterday in the fridge and they are still growing. I won’t be buying the supermarket cardboard slabs anymore many thanks

All the details that are really important in bread, but which a lot of people skip because they take them for granted... for them it's easy. I've never seen such a clear description of the way a dough should be, for example. I've been looking for your roti lesson.. I'm sure if it was as good as this I could get it right.
Very correct
The moment I saw the burn scar on her hand, I knew she has mastered baking. These scars are like medals for bravery, like black belts... like Super Bowl Rings. And it did not disappoint.
Hop u didnt see ring😂😂
🥰🥰🥰she is good n cookng
Yes she is good n cooking
That's funny I have tons of cooking scars too.
Yes, I can relate to your sense of joy when the pita puffed up, lol. TQ for sharing.
The best, most simple way to make pita bread! Finally!!!
This is one of the most perfect formats for cooking videos I've ever seen, I have no complaints - wonderful video
With jewelries and no gloves? 👎
Dj is Disolving Jesus fucking christ i hope you're not serious, this is home cooking, and no cook professionally cooks with gloves unless he works with something burning hot or has cuts on his hands, a wedding ring is also allowed, cooking, legally allowed, if you wannabe a smart ass, try me
@@bigdumb3691 you don't wear gloves when you cook...the only time you need any hand coverings are oven mitts to deal with hot objects.

I love how the pita breads puff up. They look like delicious whoopie cushions.
Thank you for showing the dough sticking to your hands during the kneading, it helped alot!

Same problem i always encountered when making dough.. now i know how it should be..😊
@@didikipathshala4409 I did, it helped so much!!
Excellent instructor. Very detailed. Thank you!
I really appreciate your attention to detail, especially showing the exact dough texture. looking forward to trying this recipe!
Agree- the tacky/sticky demonstration was so helpful. Also fixes for steam escape and not puffing 👌
Did it work?
@@VicToria-sd1dn yes! for me it did.
@@VicToria-sd1dn yeah, its really good. Already using this recipe in my meals for close to 2 years. Just make sure your pan or w.e. is very hot, like the hottest it can be and be careful with the doughwhen flipping/moving like in the video said as i was surprised how soft it was and just went right trough them at the start, those 2 were biggest issues to me. Otherwise i highly recommend it, a lot of my friends i gave to taste it really enjoyed too.
By far the best description of the hows and whys behind making great pita. Definitely love the troubleshooting part. Can't wait to try it!
You just showed up on my suggestion list and I'm so glad you did! You are an exceptionally great teacher! I thank you for showing us the way the dough sticks on your hands at each of the stages. And the way they look as they cooked I felt as if I could smell the deliciousness! Thank you
This tutorial is just what I've been kneading. Thanks. ;)

I am so happy that I can refrigerate this dough and make just the amount that I need each day. Thank you.
Ya, we've that refrigerated dough almost every time. In case you come short of that dough, you need to start worrying. haha.

I am glad you show the different things could happen during cooking the pita. Thanks.
I really appreciate all of the details & the “this might happen” scenarios. Also appreciate the how to store & the fact that you can store dough in fridge & use later in week for fresh cooked pita. Thank you very much for the time & effort you put into this video. I hope you & your family are well. God bless.
You are so welcome!
Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every time you show us how the dough is sticking to your hand or fingers, makes it so much less likely for us to use too much flour. I am so grateful for your videos and have great success with my pita making.🙏🏽🌸

The towel should be dry or damp when you cover the dough?
Of all the videos I watched on how to make pitas yours was the best! You explained how to help pitas puff and showed what might go wrong and how to correct the issues. Also, I like your explanation of the dough texture and knowing what to look for, lastly how to store fresh pitas and that I can keep the dough in the refrigerator and use it as needed throughout the week! This is now my “go to” recipe for bread. I like opening all but a flat side and putting a BLT inside. Thanks again.
I made these last month and my son gobbled them up. He wanted more so I bookmarked the recipe. I love them and the way you teach every step, what to do and lookout for, and the reasons they fail to puff. All but one of my last batch puffed!
This is great thanks for posting.
I just learned to make falafel from scratch, now my next challenge is making pita bread. Thanks for being so eloquent in explaining every step or misstep into making this delicious bread.
You give such good detailed instructions. Thank you!
Thank you! Looks wonderful!
This looks delicious thanks for sharing!
Thank you for showing how the dough looks when its tackiness is the right consistency. That was a perfect example!
Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. I live in Toronto, Canada and haven't been able to go to my favorite bakery to buy pita bread for the last 3 weeks. We usually buy our bread from a local Persian Store, but because of the outbreak, we are avoiding most places. My husband jokingly asked me today if I could bake Pita Bread.....I thought I'd look up the recipe on CZcams and here we are. Your tutorial is easy to follow and has given me the courage to try it and bake my very first bread tomorrow. I hope it turns out right. I have a small pack of all purpose flour that I bought months ago. But first I have to search my kitchen cabinets to find the flour. Wish me luck.
This Pita Bread look so yummy. Nice presentation
