@@janineconverse7046 you're very welcome! Glad to hear that it's helpful.
Time stamps are amazing thanks so much !!!
Krista Worth you’re welcome!
I love this: "It is your job to look at them through the heart and eyes of Christ."
I loved David saying the best way to get closer to Christ is to bring someone to Him !!!!! Soooooo true!!! Thank you
lana johnson ♥️❤️♥️❤️
"No one is ever faulted for loving too much." Thank you, you were an answer to my prayers today.
“Sometimes I think I see Him in you” has to be one of the best compliments anyone could give or receive! #goals
Way cool
It’s most important to love them as Christ does. Not judging them, just show more love. My greatest compliment was when one of my ministering sister. Called me during conference. Saying that I was the greatest example of Christ like love. I just was her friend and loved her unconditionally. Then I could see her as Christ did. It was a powerful experience. She looked at me and said that I had a glow about my face. It was his love shining thru me.. love Linda Stark

Christopher Patch thank you, I rely on these. Instead of taking notes I listen & come back later to the things I wanted to remember through your time stamps. You’re awesome!
Lindy Anderson Greville you’re very welcome!
Thank you so much!
Thank you Christopher Patch! I'm glad you explained somewhere else how to change settings to find your time stamps, because sometimes I can't find them. Thank you for your instruction on that!
Paula Sherrill you’re welcome!
I just love you two! Thanks for studying and pondering and then sharing your knowledge that I, too, may receive further light and confirmation ❤️ you have transformed the way I study and read the scriptures. I pick my favorite scripture from each chapter now and then see what you two picked (in your book) and love when they are the same and i had the same thoughts as you. I tell my kids all the time in CFM ‘my friend Emily said...’ or ‘my friend David said...’ and I really feel like you are my friends...😂😂 the best of friendships are bound by a love of Christ and others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💜
You touched my heart .... yes everyone should feel welcome. I was refused entry in 1981 (I am colored) but my HVader did wonders for me .... Also, no love has been wasted to keep cherishing my children even though they have gone to graze in another meadow. Greetings from Belgium
I am so very sorry for that experience. I am thankful for the mercy and love extended to you. We are all God's children snd made in his image. You make me want to be soo much better. I want to see everyone as Jesus sees them and loves them. Thank you for sharing.
To look at others NOT through the policies of the church (because that is not our job)... but to look at them THROUGH THE HEART AND EYES OF CHRIST .... might be the best thing David ever taught!!!
Just didn't want your lesson to end. I loved your perspective on the character of Jesus and ministering. Thanks so much to both of you.
How the heck do you guys talk about these chapters without the ugly crying! 😭 These chapters about Christ are everything to me. Thanks for these videos and sharing your excitement and love for our Savior and doing it without crying!! 🥰
3 Nephi 15: 21 ....."them also must I bring...." When I read this all my hopes of serving others has been simplified in these words. All we need to do is bring them along. Its no big deal. Just bring them. It doesn't need to be complicated. I want to be an extension of God's love of his hands, bringing others with me along the journey of Christ's power. Thank you both for the beautiful blessings you are and for the beautiful love I feel from you all. Thanks for your influence and for holding Christ's light up for all of us.
Clearly, just the cycling of the study of scripture was designed intentionally many years ago, that this, the most significant of years, we are studying the Book of Mormon, with the specific details for preparing ourselves and others for the coming of the Lord.
Thanks to David and Emily for being our tour guides in this journey.
I wonder how many people Emily & David have brought unto Christ.
How great is that?!

I feel like it's one of the upsides to Covid - all the great things that have happened online.
“No one is ever faulted for loving too much”. Beautiful, thank you!
You two have brought these scriptures to life for me. THANK YOU. I hope to minster with more compassion, and faith. I have a greater understanding of the scriptures when I study with your lessons.
Me too, these two have helped me love scriptures in a whole new light :)
I think that's why they are so loveable right? They've brought the scriptures alive and made them not so intimidating.
This was my FAVORITE video that you have done so far. I wept throughout and felt the spirit touch my heart through you. I feel motivated to follow more fully my baptismal covenants to minister as the Savior would, after listening to this lesson. Thank you.
PS: The Chosen helped me feel so much more love for Jesus
Y’all are awesome! Sometimes David you say something that just gives me flashbacks to the temple trip bus rides where you would sing for people to come use the restroom in the back. 😂 Seriously though, thank you both so much for this channel and these lessons. I appreciate it so much!
Oh thank you so, so much. This is your most beautiful lesson ever. Love you guys.
Thank you so much for the insight in this presentation about ministering in Jesus’ way. That was so beautiful, but the part that had me in tears was thinking of who I would bring. I thought of my cognitively disabled adult daughter who also suffers with Bipolar disorder and OCT/Autism. Putting her in this scripture was so sweet to me as I imagined it, and felt the reassurance that this will happen for her some day.
In The Chosen don’t you love the part when Jesus says to Simon , you just catch all the men you can, I will sort them out later. We just need to love and be kind to all. I totally cried twice during that movie. Once when he smiled when they caught all the fish. I totally realized he loves to help us. The second was when Nicodemus was standing behind the wall crying because he could not go. Oh! Broke my heart!
I felt the spirit so strongly while watching. Thank you so much, I know Jesus was smiling down from Heaven. He had to be well pleased with how these 3 chapters were delivered by you two!!!
I am so glad you are talking about being inclusive. I feel like "exclusion" is one of the tools that the devil uses the most. If he can get us to feel isolated we are more apt to fall prey to sin.
I love "don't miss this" You and David make a great team. You have made a difference in my life and my husband's. Thank you so much!!
This was amazing. Thank you for all you do and Thank you for being you! 💕
My husband and I are counting down the days to season 2 for The Chosen! Bless!
We thought the exact same thing about ponder past conference talks and prepare our minds for the next ones!
A unique thing about The Chosen, and the reason I would recommend it, is that is shows a Jesus who smiles, even a Jesus who laughs. I wonder if Jesus really does laugh or smile. My youthful impression of Christianity was awfully stern. Maybe things would have turned out differently if I had ever seen Him smile in my mind.
I understand how you have felt. I have prayed for a long time to have an understanding of what God's personality is really like because I had the same impression as yours as a youth and even into adulthood. The more He answers my prayers and I really get to know God and Jesus Christ, the more I feel their softness and happiness. I feel God's humor at times in my life, as if He knows my sense of humor and connects with me through little funny things. I adore the Heavenly Father I am getting to know, and know that He adores me. It is the most beautiful feeling.
When I think of certain apostles if not all, I see them smiling and loving their time with the membership of the church, just as Jesus would.
This was my childhood as well. It was my “religion” to watch such shows as the Ten Commandments and Ben Hur. I bawled my eyes out every time they hung him on the cross. We started watching The Chosen, but the old traumatized feelings crept in, and I turned it off. I didn’t give it a chance. So with your encouragement, I’ll give it another try.
Thanks to all of you for your replies. It appears I’m not alone, and that’s comforting. To Annie of Blue Gables, I empathize with you. I haven’t cried about the crucifixion as far as I remember, but I’ve had nightmares sometimes for days afterwards. That sort of barbarity is more than I can imagine. If I have a problem with religion, it’s that the idea of God is beyond my comprehension. It isn’t much of a problem, though. After a long absence from the church and open apostasy, I have returned and have been active in the Church for years. It was a deliberate choice on my part to try to be worshipful, humble, grateful, and obedient to the best of my ability notwithstanding the incomprehensible magnitude of the whole thing. Thanks again.
We were converts to the church when I was 10 years old. I remember how people would say to fear Christ. But my mother said we don’t need to fear him. Just to show love more freely as he does. I was never afraid of him. I was respectful of his commandments. But he gave those to help us not to punish us.
These videos immediately help me feel the spirit. Thank you for making them.
I love the chosen so so much!!! I got the get used to different t and the fish sweat shirt. It’s the best!
The song I always hear when I read 3 Nephi 17 is a song called "The Day the Savior Came" by Ann Luke Bailey. I'm a singer and it took me a very long time to be able to sing it without crying. Chapter 17 is my favorite chapter in the Book of Mormon. Thank you so much for your videos each week. They are such a strength to me.
Thanks for sharing this. I just listened to it on CZcams, and it's beautiful! Here's a link: czcams.com/video/q84XOPcCE68/video.html
Ann will love that you love that song! Writing it while pondering this section was truly a wonderful experience for her!
Oh my goodness... I'm feeling like a fangirl, lol. I loved the show and the music! I remember her telling the story about it. It's s very special song in my heart. And if we weren't quarantining right now, I'd probably be singing it in sacrament meeting, because we're in the perfect place in CFM.
Thank you Sandra; I’m glad you have loved our song. The Day the Savior Came is now available through Jackman Music for choirs...SSA and SATB as well as a new solo version. 😊
@@annlukebailey-cutler4231 Thank you so much! Your music is beautiful!
Great lesson today, thank you so much for all you do! Emily, you have such a kind heart toward everyone no matter what circumstances they are in. David your positive attitude and passion for the gospel is so refreshing to listen to. Love you both!
David...
" Everyone thought Jesus was coming! " 🤣🤣🤣
Oh i love you guys!!
Thank you so much! Very well done. Zola & Wesley
Thank you so much for making 3 Nephi 18:32 stand out to me that ALL are welcome and we are to minister and love well.
Loved this-especially the emphasis on having a Christlike view verses a view through policies. Something resonated differently, though - sometimes, we can't bring people to Christ but we bring Christ to the people (through US!)
Those cinnamon rolls were INCREDIBLE. I saw them rise.... PHEW! I don't eat sugar, but my family loved them. My daughter and husband made them and we shared them with some awesome families. Seriously, AWESOME cinnamon rolls. Thanks for sharing the recipe, Emily's friend!
I like the mentioning of changing the signs on our building to “guests welcome” instead of visitors welcome. Even better would be, “welcome guests.” It reminds me of the difference I feel in schools where I substitute teach and I’m referred to a guest teacher as opposed to a substitute teacher. The latter has the wicked stepmother vibe.
Being with them was no detour. His compassion was shown here.
A truly beautiful and inspiring lesson. Thank you.
Loved this video so much! Thank you for your ministry! I am particularly moved by the phrase "bring them to Me" coupled with the image of Jesus' invitation in these chapters. I can see it as such a metaphor for bringing people to Jesus in our time. People who are afflicted, sick, troubled...and how you guys talked about ministering and being the means. Jesus shows us in these chapters the real life example of bringing people to Him and how to do that in these times too. Thank you again for your wisdom and guidance. Really changed the way I look at praying for others in an effort being them to Christ!

I can't find where to watch The Chosen. Where do I see it?
The Elder Maxwell quote at the beginning (around minute 4:00) is from the April 1995 General Conference, "Deny Yourselves of All Ungodliness." "Without Jesus' supernal character, He would not have accomplished the astonishing atonement." Love it.

I love the quote from an apostle about his favorite smell in the chapel is tobacco. I have searched to find who said it, but I can’t find it. Does anyone know who said it?
Is there a similar book for next year when we study the Doctrine and Covenants? Will you continue to make videos to facilitate our study?
I'm sure they will. This is their second year doing this.
With that being said “ you can now leave please “ lol 😂 bye covid
SHIRLEY'S!!! YES!!!
When will the study guide for next year be available?
I am an avid follower. As much as I enjoy hearing what you “love,” and your personal thoughts, I really miss one of the reasons I started watching you in the first place. Each lesson used to be unique and based on things you’ve learned in all the years as teachers, more curriculum based and the historical. Each segment is beginning to feel exactly like the last with why you love this or that. I hope this is good feedback for you. I do appreciate your enthusiasm for God and the scriptures!
Wondering what that Hilary Weeks song was that you referenced.

Emily, who is ERIC? Must be special to have a shirt with guys name on it.😂
What I loved is that you mentioned we don't get to choose who comes. We just need to keep ministering. I heard a comment this week in regards to ministering that we don't need to keep spinning our wheels if they don't want to be ministered to. That is not the point. We need to keep loving and keep trying.

Guest vs visitors
I would be concerned that some people might interpret guests to mean you need to be with someone to go.
Think of a private community. Their signs says residents and guests only. Guests implies an invitation from someone already in.
A guest is someone who is being friendly.. to consider the message and they may or may not agree.
But, they aren't in fighting the message giver. No one can change the opinion of another. The guest to the message of Christ is listening and thinking about what is said.
If they leave and not ever return then a guest they stop being in their own choice.
If they agree with the message and join Christ in His church, the same stops being a guest as well. They become a member instead. A follower of Christ.
But, I do see what you mean. No one needs an invitation to be a guest. To visit.
They are the same thing here.
Come in off the streets. Come out of the world and into Christ's church. Listen to His words through the people who hold up His light.
So you can feel and see for yourself.
All are welcome.
Thank you David and Emily for your love and insightful lessons you teach us each week. The song “ The Day the Savior Came” is written especially for Chapter 17. My cousin Ann Luke Bailey wrote this song at the request of my brother who had put together a fireside presentation about our Savior Jesus Christ. what is the song by Hilary Weeks?
Greater Miracles from Lead Me Home. I think.
Thanks for this. The emphasis on everyone is welcome really touched my heart. But what if they come to church and they are not wearing a mask, or even refuse to wear one?
My question is similar… What if everyone in the church is completely blind and puts a mask on and trust in the arm of flesh instead of in God?! What then?!
No mask for me.
The book of Mormon is full of corrupt governments and the people who stand for freedom are the heroes! Read it and think about it!
Everyone is doing their own risk assessments and making their own choices. We all get to practice allowing everyone the space to use their agency, while we focus on the things we CAN control and LET GO of things we CAN'T control. When we love as Jesus loves, we aren't as fixated on the things others do that we disagree with because we know He's got this - for both sides. 😊
The “but what if” statement is telling. There is no “but what if” when Jesus said forbid them not or do not cast them out. Use love, hold up your light and be filled with compassion. ❤️

Him going to the Nephi region was in the plan. He had a plan to be with god again. But, He wanted to mention that this time He is spending with them was sooo important that He knew He had to be there. Even though His next stop was to be with His Father. The importance was so great that He did tary to be with them as long as was needed.

Is (the chosen) a movie? 🤦🏽♀️
It’s a series :-)
It’s on vidangel for free!
I must have watched the wrong "Chosen" you've all been talking about... I had my children sit down to watch episode 1 and we anticipated watching an uplifting and spirit filled show however it was anything but that. Episode 1 was confusing and dark and my kids actually said they were scared. We couldn't even figure out what was going on. It did not draw the spirit. I would not recommend watching.
I wouldn't recommend it for children except the episode with the children. 😊
Oh please keep watching. The first episode is not representative of the rest of them. I cannot put into words how amazing the show is and how much it changed my perspective on Christ and the apostles. We’ve watched the episodes twice now and get something new out of them each time.
I recommend always previewing everything, even church videos, before showing them to Children. And I agree with another comment here- keep watching (without kids). Its awesome
I had a similar experience, so I agree that episode one is not for kids! But there are Sooo many good things in the coming episodes! Episode 3, about Jesus with the children is REALLY good for kids, and can be watched without seeing the rest of them, although it does help to know the characters a little more if you have seen the first 2 episodes.
But those last 10 minutes!!! I wasn’t into episode 1 either until the last 10 minutes when she finds Christ and He says HER NAME. 😭😭😭😭 Then it just gets better from there....
Still sounds echoey.
They explained it last week. Remodeling
Please put a clip in your hair so it doesn't slide over your eye and you won't have to continually brush it back which drives me CRAZY and make me so I can't even watch...Please,Please!! Good lessons, tho and I appreciate your efforts in our behalf. Thanks.
