    My falling in love of the Book of Mormon this year has been a wonderful experience and my learning of the Book of Mormon has been, if I could even put a percentage to it, 80% higher than all my 40 years in the church (I am 66 years old). I am a visual learner and so for me reading scriptures and getting content from my reading has been sketchy. Your videos have busted open my brain. I could have lived my whole life with my spiritual experiences that I have had with Heavenly Father and have lived quite happily. But learning about the Book of Mormon with you has given me a deeper dimension to my faith. Every person learns differently and that is what it has been like for me all my life. Finding you and joining you each Sunday has been amazing for me, life altering,. If we were still having fast and testimony meetings you would be my topic for sure. Thank you

    Thank you thank you. When we got to 33:19 and talked about "Look unto Christ and Live" I had an aha moment. Living in Christ means living in peace, Love, grace, faith happiness, joy, gratitude, service. I have been living in fear, just the opposite! My goal now is to Look to Christ and the Live in these good things. I feel so much better. Thank you.

      I love your variation for the council on prayer. Here is my personal version: "Cry unto Him when your heart is overwhelmed with gratitude for the Blessings, Goodness, People, Knowledge, and Privilege in you life. Cry unto Him when Fear, Concern, Worry, Helplessness, Sadness, Contention, Anger, or Resentment, or Frustration enter your heart and threaten to ruin your Peace. Cry unto Him when you rise, eat, drive, or walk; when you're alone; when you visit; when you wonder; when you wander; and when you lie down. Cry unto Him for those you know, and those you know of; for those you love, and for those you hope to love someday; for those in need, those who who have filled your needs, and those whose needs you work to fulfill. Cry unto Him always and you will feel Him near you and receive answers to your questions, and peace restored to your soul."

  • @deannalaskerwordsandmusic7425

    I just loved the idea of bearing testimony that the word, the church, the scriptures are good! It made me think of Moroni 7 where the phrase "every good thing" is repeated like a million times (well, more like 5 or 6) and that we are to lay hold upon every good thing to become a child of Christ. Being able to say that something is "good" is so often easier than that something is "true" or it feels easier to prove. There is such gentleness in that idea. S.E.E.D. is next level awesome and I cannot wait to share that with my kids and seminary students! The "cry unto Him" exercise is so moving. Beautiful! Thanks for your insights and for elevating my study!

    In Alma 32, if the seed is the word, then remember John 1:1 - "In the beginning there was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him." Couldn't we take this a step further and say that if we plant the seed - the Savior - in our hearts and worship, nourish, etc., our faith in Christ will increase?

      2 The same was in the beginning with God.
      3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made which was made.
      4 In him was the gospel, and the gospel was the life, and the life was the light of men;
      5 And the light shineth in the world, and the world perceiveth it not.

    Thank you "Dyamic Duo for an outstanding analogy of the "Seed" great insights !! I was impressed in Chapter 32 of a great Compare n Contrast with the Poor Class of People who were PREPARED to be taught vs. the Zoramites. Poverty and Need-We must recognize the NEED that produces the search. If there is no thirst, there is no appreciation for the water. The full cannot taste the sweetness of the bread. With many of us, during the course of our lives, we sometimes need a little "Miracle Growth" sprinkled on our seeds of faith to eventually enjoy the delicious fruit of the Tree. We remember our Faith at times has a short shelf life. BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO GIVE AND FORGET and FOR THOSE WHO RECIEVE and ALWAYS REMEMBER !!

      That's true, and there's more! I happened upon Zenos in a cross reference in my personal study (he was on my radar from this video) in 1 Nephi 19, especially verses 10 & 12, but there are a lot of "saith the prophet"(s) after Zenos is cited all the way through 17 (Nephi starts 18 "And I, Nephi") so it's fair to think those verses might all be attributed to Zenos. He bears powerful testimony of the coming of Christ. I dug a little deeper and in Helaman 8:19, we find out that he was a martyr. "yea, behold, the prophet Zenos did testify boldly; for the which he was slain." He bore bold enough testimony to be echoed by prophets in some of the most beloved chapters in the Book of Mormon. I'd say that qualifies him as a hero for sure!

    You commented that they kept thinking about Korihor and answering his questions in the later chapters on the mission to the Zoramites. When Joseph Smith dictated the text of the Book of Mormon to his scribes,
    the chapters were longer than those in current editions. It seems important that
    what are now Alma 30 and Alma 32 were actually within a single chapter, chapter
    XVI (now Alma 30-35), in the original Book of Mormon.

    Please help! Does anyone remember a scripture reference and comment that Emily made (somewhere in the last several videos). I think she was talking about when we are stressed over a family situation or something that is difficult with a child/friend, she said something like- we just need to focus on doing what we are suppose to be doing, and let the Lord take care of that situation for us. She was pointing out a scripture verse that basically said that, and she gave her interpretation. I have been thinking so much about that and really would like to hear it again. I've been re-listening to several videos, but now I can't find it. Can anyone remember that and tell me which video it was in?

      Hi Adam - two possibilities. First, the week of Mosiah 25-28...there’s a section on “11 Stand Outs”, and in Stand Out #4 “It Is I” Mosiah 26:22-26) there is a discussion on that topic. The second possibility is the week of Alma 8-13, when they talk about “When You Want to Give Up” and discuss Alma 8:15-16. Look at my “Time Stamps” comment on each of those videos to find the spot in the video when they talk about those scriptures/topics. I hope this helps!
