In so many ways, this embodies home-centered/church-supported learning. These get better each week. Thanks for all the time you take to make these episodes so enlightening.
So about the cake....my neighbor has PTSD and a couple of nights a week has a rough night, and last night was one of them. As I prayed that he would calm down and be at peace it came to me. This is your cake person. It just came out of the oven and I will take it over in a few minutes. ❤
This has been a rough week for so many people, and I neglected this until the end of the week, and I needed this at the beginning of the week.....I love the story about cake, because when things go bad I’m always trying to feed everyone. So, in the middle of all the upset I had the strangest urge to make cupcakes for the people I minister too this week, and when I went to deliver them I found that the one family had Covid and the other family the husband had sepsis, and here I’d been all week worrying more about the election than the people I minister too. Thank goodness for the Holy Ghost reminding me of the people I should be paying attention too. Hoorah for Israel!!!
Isnt it what everyone needs is milk, cake and a little nap . Our Lord gives up comfort when we reach our end, I know this personally when I had done all I could do to take care of my dying son the Lord gave me strength to let go and let my little boy go back to the arms of Jesus . I know we recieve strength when we have submitted to the trial and wear ourselves out trying to do our best. I want to thank you for your teaching and your insight. Congrats on your award you guys are great!

Reading Mormon 7 makes me want to study the “last words” of the prior Prophets I remember from my lifetime. I remember for sure that President Monson said to read the Book of Mormon and in his fraile existence and short talk that’s what he thought was most important for us to hear.

Around 20 minutes you are talking about a man sleeping under the juniper tree and an angel comes to make him cake and gives him “milk” then tells him to go back to sleep. I think I heard the word cake is bread, and the milk is actually water. How cool would it be if the angel was giving the man the sacrament and telling him to rest in the Lord? When our burdens and trials are too heavy to go and rest in the Lord, find deliverance.

I looked up the blessings promised for reading the Book of Mormon from Pres. Nelson, Pres. Hinckley and Pres. Benson and those promises are quality of life changers!

I read the talk by Elder Godoy and I also went back and read about Elijah again. Then I took Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins to our missionaries. They had to be in early because of possible dangers from the election. I also started a Lego Missionary photo album. I have these Lego missionaries who happen to look like the Elders who are serving in our ward so I take them with me wherever I go and I take pictures. Their Moms love it!
My Lego Missionaries have been busy!! They have been to Physical Therapy, the chiropractor, the youth activity, a Mom Power training meeting over Zoom, and several walks. Next week I get to go back to work so I will take them with me. Too bad they don’t make tiny Lego face masks!! 😂😂

When you mentioned how Moroni wanted to acknowledge that Mormon was his father it triggered a flood of emotions in me.

Thank you sooooo much, Emily for responding to the concern about getting all the reading done. I have struggled with that, and it has been easier this year with studying the Book of Mormon, but then we're back to the same place--Book of Mormon, Come Follow Me, Conference issue of the ENSIGN, the monthly issue of the ENSIGN` and then trying to catch BYU talks, books written by our church leaders, etc., etc., etc.
Still is a lot to juggle, but knowing that it's more important to read even a little from the Book of Mormon rather than a whole chapter a day, eases my mind a little. I often feel so overwhelmed! And then there's all the "doing." Yikes!
I find it so testimony building that just as my eyes became opened to the secret combinations within the church (the ones who use FB and CZcams, at least), we are studying 4 Nephi and then Mormon and Ether. The Book of Mormon was absolutely written for our day. I hope everyone realizes that if we aren't being honest "in all our doings," the Second Coming will not be the glorious event for us that we hoped for. Endure to the end in faith and humility, and it will be truly glorious!
Groups using CZcams and FB are not necessarily secret combinations. Secret combinations have the intent of doing illegal things to get away with without being caught.

As my husband and I were listening to this lesson, we thought about the angel you talked about that came to care for Elijah. Don’t you think that his angel was his mother?
We are told that our ancestors are some of the angels that have interest in our lives, so can’t you imagine a mother, fixing a sandwich for her discouraged child, and sitting near as he rests? It just sounded like the loving care of a mom.

I LOVE that these chapters talk about love and service! Right now, things are rough- and they will only get more rough November 4th. I started a group called "10 Days Of Loving Thy Neighbor" where we are committing to 10 Days of service starting on Wednesday, November 4th. It doesn't need to be anything big- but just some way to spread love and joy to combat the hate and vitriol currently surrounding us. Hi David and Emily! I haven’t used your study guide before, but I really want to. I am wondering which one I should get though: the devotional book or the study guide? If I had to get one, which should I do? I am a mother of 4 and I don’t always get to watch your videos because of how busy I am with homeschooling (thanks Covid) and other things.
That’s a tough one.... the devotional book contained 1 verse from each chapter that is a favorite of David and Emily’s. There is the verse and a little story that relates to it. The Study journal is the outline they put on the board every week... ready for you to fill in the blanks as you listen to them on CZcams or as you study the chapters by yourself. Hope this helps you to decide which will be best for you. May God bless your way each day as you juggle so many responsibilities as a young mom. ❤️
@@joannconway8919 I would get the devotional one. You can just get a blank note book and take notes on there classes on line that's what I do. I couldn't get the journal this year.

@@jules11yates I have done them both. I like them both for different reasons. If you want to/can only read just one verse a day then the Devotional Book is awesome because it helps you think deeply about that verse. If you are a person who can watch Don’t Miss This.... even if it only a little bit at a time though the week - the journal is great because it walks you through the points they are helping us not to miss in the current chapters of CFM. I hesitate to tell you which one to get because all of us are different and feel the spirit differently. But... if you are not able to watch DMT than the journal will not be the thing for you so get the Devotional Book. Depending on the ages of your kids you can share the verses/stories from the Devotional book with them.
