@Captain Netaji himself formed a left wing nationalistic party called Forward Block which exists to this day. The communist party of that time hated Netaji for joining Japan as the communists were puppets of Soviet Union, and Soviets and Japan were at war. Then there were unaffiliated communists like Bhagat Singh ho had no problem with Netaji despite their ideological differences. There is no need to brainwash Netaji lovers of today from the left even the communists who know history as they know exactly what Netaji did and why he did it. Brainwashing is being done to the right who love strong leaders and naturally gravitate to Netaji. The right-wing leadership cannot glorify the left wing socialists aspect of Netaji or how he hated Savarkar and considered him "communal", so they magnify the difference between Netaji and Gandhi.

Rather it was Dr. Ambedkar was much more harsh towards Muslims who believed that one community can never assimilate into Indian Culture. Also could u specify any piece of writing where Savarkar asked for a Hindu theocracy or state religion and mind you it is not the same as Hindu Rashtra. He said everyone who is culturally attached to this land of Akhand Bharat is culturally a Hindu completely seperate from Hindu religion.
It is this idea of Hindutva which was born during the Bengal Renaissance and molded later into a much refined ideology by Savarkar and in the current context the most effective tool to annihilate the caste system in India.

Anyone trying to defame Savarkar because he asked for mercy petition is an insensitive person. People who visit the Central Jail (Museum now) in Andaman will understand the horrifying conditions of political prisoners kept there. I appeal for a just portrayal of all Freedom fighters irrespective of current political ideological differences. Gandhi peaceful approach or Subhas Chandrabose's military approach or Bhagat Singh's appeal for arming civilians, all need to be appreciated equally towards achieving Independence.
I am a big Fan of Dhruv Rathee; but the subtle political inclinations in his videos towards one side are better avoided.

Even sir motilal Nehru wrote mercy petition for his son shree Nehru ji when he was in some random jail for 3 days, and savarkar had two sentences in kala pani.

Hey Druv, I watched this for the second time today.
The understanding about Savarkar still remains unclear. The major section of the video was covered on Jinnah and the Muslim league. The facts about Savarkar were either extracts from left-oriented authors(published in 2006 which can lead to many dilutions) or some open-ended opinions. There were statements mentioned by you but most did not have any direct actions by Savarkar. I am neither a fan of the BJP nor a right-wing govt. but still believe Atal Behari Vajpayee was our best PM and there were statements of him supporting the ideologies of Savarkar in a secular way - none of us were born during the time of freedom struggle but Atal ji was. This makes me think you should reconsider collecting more facts about Savarkar and come up with better proofs about him rather than mercy petition excerpts. Take it as constructive criticism to work better on facts. Many of us follow you because you present facts but I am sorry my friend in this video you deviated from the main topic a lot and may be this is just because you were missing out on enough facts and evidence which you usually have in most of your videos. Looking forward to a better unbiased fact based video on Savarkar.

VD Savarkar was imprisoned for two life sentences(50 years). Nothing wrong with him filing mercy petitions to avoid the horrors of cellular jail(kala pani). I think he could have become underground after returning from there but he didn't and instead supported british. He did spend 10 years in Cellular Jail.
I have great respect for all those freedom fighters who had to face such horrors in Cellular jail or any other jail in British Raj.
After Independence, INC became a typical political party which didn't care much about freedom fighters except their own leaders. Many freedom fighters were not recognised after thier death and spent rest of their lives in poverty.

But he left after 2 yrs and Batukeshwaar Dutt stayed in kala pani for 13 yrs. After leaving kaala pani if he was so good, why he accepted pension from British govt? Why he became a faithful dog to them?

His vision, values, inspiration, work ethics were impeccable. Too bad he had to part way due to differences with Gandhi.
He decided to co-operate with Nazis and Imperial Japan. Nazis killed 6 million Jews. Japan killed infants by throwing them off buildings. He shook hands with Hitler. This was not Mahatma Gandhi's fault.
