    Trent getting sharper and on his way, but special praise for Gravenverg and Jota who paid back the selection. Diaz also excellent, hard work, endeavour and breaking his neck to get in the box…unfortunately missing from Salah recently.

    Trent was brilliant yesterday but we didn't fall off a cliff when Trent got injured, people seem to be looking for a single incident for why we suddenly became poor. On the other hand, Mo and Nunez were poor when they came on. Fed up of people defending Nunez, he has some serious self analysis to do, can't keep getting offside and missing decent chances then grinning as if that will get you a pass. He won't play for another club a big as this.

    Nailed that Chris Pajak.
    Trent made sure Harvey wasn't going to waste time walking up to him on fre kicks for the rest of this season and possibly their careers at LFC
    Trent put that ball in the net and then at halftime I put on my Alexander Arnold shirt and walked downstairs and within minutes Gravenberch banged in the second.
    Sitting much more comfortably with Trent on the field and on my back.
    Connor Bradley could be our regular Right Back, but if that's the case Trent would have to be in the right of a double pivot in midfield - with whom, I'm not sure. Connor is a fantastic prospect, who did brilliantly in stepping up to the plate these last few months, but we have been missing Trent's ability to find anyone on the field. That second half ball to Robbo, where Robbo eventually knocked it back (back heel?) before running on forward, was just out of this world. At first it looked like it was a miss hit, but then I realised who'd played the ball and so that it was clearly as intended.
    Trent knows how to get to the wizarding school of football, via a passageway under the Smiths in Lime Street Station. One day he'll show a young baller from the academy how to get there, but for now we must admire and gaze in wonder at his magic 🪄

    There is no title race. Even if we win every remaining game, we need Arsenal to drop points and - more importantly - City to do so. Not only do i not see City dropping points, if they somehow have a draw it will come down to goal difference which we do not look particularly good for right now.

    I don't understand why we don't start him in midfield with Mac Allister and Endo and let him just run that midfield and imagine we get in a world class CDM in the summer so he doesn't have to worry about defensive duties as much.

    • @DenDave_
      @DenDave_ Před 25 dny +3

      Couple reasons for that. We have 4 players that can do a solid job in that midfield slot, but with Bradley injured we only have Trent and Gomez that can do rightback. Secondly starting him at RB means he can walk into midfield as the 4th guy and create an overload, thereby creating space to move around and launch his passes. If you play Trent in midfield from the start, you remove that advantage and place the opposing players closer to him, limiting his time and space. Lastly, Klopp is in his final run, theres not much point in inventing a new role for Trent when you dont know for sure how it will work out. Thats something the next manager can figure out over a long run of games.

    Difference maker - only IF he continues to deliver for the rest of the games (including concentrating on defending when required)…this is where the very best players are different class.
    Maybe Elliott / Diaz must be aware of Trent and cover him!

      Connor gives so much than just proper defending. We're a better team with Connor at RB. Trent is ok for cameos vs poor teams, but he puts so much strain on his teammates in a series of matches.

Also if u notice we have been nervy in our buildup from back when he doesn't play. Trent sometimes gives wrong passes but still he has decisiveness . He doesn't waste time in sideways passes .

    Exactly, the title has more than likely gone. Totally bottled it. There was a stage when we were 5 points clear, then 2 points clear, then behind on 1 point, now behind on goal difference. Really needed to beat Man City, Man U and host of other matches inc Palace really to be safe. Let’s just see how the next 5 go.
