It's gonna be hard to replace a fit Konate, he is definitely more defensively solid, but Quansah is already better on the ball than Ibou is. Ofcourse the mistakes are down to age and experience, and i do believe Quansah will become one of the best in the business down the road, but i wouldn't go as far as to say he's the best partner to Van Dijk. Perfectly fine to let him and Ibou fight for it.
His a much closer match to Matip than Konate, and even back in fall we saw that klopp preferred a fit Matip over Ibou, but then he got injured. If klopp was as our coach, I think Quansah would be our first choice there if Klopp was our coach, but with Arne no one knows
@@Totsrocky With how Slot seems to coach build up play Quansah has more than afair chance of starting a lot of games under him.
Is still not enough the defence is totally have to rebuild stronger if they want to win titles next season 😮
Konate is good on the ground like Gomez but Quansah aerial ability is better...Konate struggles with the flight of the ball
You look at Virgil and Konate and think. Tall, fast, silky defender and Konate bit of a beast physically. Looks a dream partnership. I don't think it has got close to Virgil and Matip.
Seriously underestimated intelligent footballer Joel Matip.

Personally, I think yes, he should be. I guess it depends if Slot sees it in him. The kid looks really good both defensively and on the ball, the odd mistake is fine, even Virgil makes mistakes.
Leny Yoro is a young CB we should really consider, i think a 4 of Virgil, Yoro, Konate and Quansah would be sound, with Gomez being the utility defender who can play across the back line.
This probably says more about Konate's drop off in form than it does about Quansah
Konate hasnt really dropped off in form. Quansah has taken the opportunities he´s gotten because of Konates poor availability (and Matips injury as well). Konate is still a world class 1v1 defender and box defender. But Quansah has other qualities that are ahead of Koante. Especially his quality on the ball and overall calmness. So it depends on what you value I guess. And on the type of game.
Konate struggles with aerial balls especially when facing bullish forwards
Going off how leaky our defence has been I would say no.
Our defence has been leaky because the team hasnt had a good defenisve structure all season. Not because of any one individual cb.
Vvd is a liability

I think we really miss Matips areal dominance. Dan-Axel Zagadou has a market value of 10 m doing well with Stuttgart and is in the top 5 this season across all leagues. He is 24 and left footed 😉

Getting rid of Matip was fair game. Over stepping Konate has been insane. Quality player.
But we say these two but not gonna lie we've been leaking goals all season and our defence looks rocky.. I'm torn tbh
Quansah is 100% mordern CB. good on the ball...pace.....calm. big and tall.
Vvd and his lazy passing style causes players to relax when they should be high alert. His pass to quansah against utd and last night to macallister causes issues because of his style of passing laid back gives players a false sense of security. For me he needs a change in body language and urgency of passing and far to many unnecessary passes sideways or into midfield in areas that will cause major issues if dispossessed. Its happened so many times just don't get why lessons aren't learnt.
Quansah is the one who passed the ball directly to Bruno Fernandes despite being under no pressure whatsoever, don't know how VVD could have done. Likewise yesterday Mac Allister just completely failed to control the ball, that's on him. Mac Allister has a technical problem in term of ball control, he made that mistake so many times this season costing us quite a few goals.
@N9ndo the pass wasn't the issue it's his body language far too laid back. He is the captain he needs to push others to fight and be on their toes. But the way he is, his overly relaxed style is infectious to other players.
@@YA-hm5zy That's on them, you don't see Elliott lacking intensity when he plays, the guys have to take responsibility for themselves and show leadership. There's a lot of factor that could also explain that, the system, or the players themselves (Macca is not a 6, he struggles there in possession, Endo is too limited too).
I think Virge may move on now. He hasnt got the support of Klopp and he may or may not get on with Slot having read the Dutch press about how we love him in Liverpool but the Dutch arent keen on him. Time will tell. Great goal by Jarell though.
VVD literally said he want to be part of the new project and is staying last week though... If he didn't he would not have been so direct in saying he'll be there next season, could have just thrown another non committing statement.
Not yet. He needs to be a super sub at least 1 more season.
He's one of the youngest players on the team and still needs time to learn and grow as a player.
With the current squad it would be VVD and Konate when all are fit.
Quansah is a good back up. We need a CB in next transfer anyway.
We do need another CB but a left sided one. In that sense any new cb doesnt really replace Matip but fills the role a backup to Van Dijk. He´s basicly the only naturally left sided CB in the squad

Personally I think vvd should go and konate and quansahbe the new duo. Vvd looks spent now ... he's never marking anyone or blocking shots .just puts his arm up for offside which var will do if they are offside. He's lost it since pickford injured him

With Matip going, probably Nat Phillips also, we need two more CB’s and I’d love us to get Dortmund’s Adhemi for LB as Robbo is in the same boat as VVD…

Konate Is Beast Defender Man, He’s Taken On Vinicius 1 V 1 and Delt With Him. Quansah is Def Better On The Ball But Konate Doesn’t Allow Watkins To Cutback.

He has a mistake in him but if he can iron that out he'll be fine. I actually think he's seen as Van Dijk's successor, he needs another couple of years to iron out these mistakes.
"He has a mistake in him" is such a reductive way of talking about young CB:s because he has no more mistakes in him than any other CB on the team. It is natural and expected that any young player makes mistakes. IT´s just more noticable when its a defender. He was the best player on the pitch for us after the first VFilla goal where he should have done better.

@@alefemi8356The thing that annoys me about this conversation my friend is I Iike quansah but maybe we shouldnt put to much pressure on him to say he should play every match next season 🤔 for me konate when he is fit alongside van dijk is the best cb pairing we currently have however matip is leaving now so we need to sign one centre back minimum maybe two quansah is an option but we need to strengthen that area next season we concede too many goals with the players we have now so a few new signings would be my solution 🤔

@@alefemi8356 re van dijk I dont think he is as good a player as he was before he got that serious injury the season after we won the league and he does make mistakes sometimes but who doesnt however I do think he has had a pretty good season overall tho 🤔

Virgin Van Dijk has been ripped up by so many average attackers. He’s the most overrated defender to ever play the game… FACTS!
He’s world class at marking empty space and nothing else. Attackers just ghost past him while he’s watching the empty space. He’s no Rolls Royce but actually a Fiat Panda that’s getting r*ped in every game. I mean both ripped and r*aped in every game 😆

You guys must be joking.... until we accept the fact that can dijk just can defend anymore, we will never be better defensively. Don’t get me wrong, Van dijk has been great for us but I think it’s time we moved on from him. What even infuriate me the most is the armband given, van dijk is simply no leader, period. I know people would come for me but I don’t care, it’s my opinion. Thank you
