Quite impressed by how quiet the engine is, I remember 1 litre engines from my youth that sounded like an elephant farting in a biscuit tin at anything above 65mph haha.

I have this car and it literally feels like a 2.0 tdi, its a very power balanced/tuned car by Honda with that nice EarthDream's VTEC Turbo technology

I’ve have hit 132mph in the 1.0. And it Still had 6th gear Vtech before being flat out (4000-5500 RPM) in the 1.0

its not an i-vtec - its an EarthDream's VTEC Turbo which is more powerful.

in eco mode!!! why?
The car was on ECO mode, lol. You should have tried on normal mode :)
ECO mode doesn't affect performance, it only turns off AC dims lights etc. to save fuel
@@theweeknd2725 Do you actually own this model? On my model, the Eco mode doesn't turn off AC, it just makes it less efficient and the engine sounds different, also there's also much less torque.
@@DarthMaul41 Does it really? Afaik, with manual versions it probably just also adds some delays to the throttle response so it doesn't make any difference to the actual performance on the car. I got a little curious about it when I first got the car and when I read about it, I just turned it off since it didn't make any difference in performance.
In automatic it's a different story.
@@COOLUKGAMER it does cut the acceleration at a high RPM, I own a manual one and its quite obvious !
redline of 5600 rpm cut out would be 6000 rpm i have a kia picanto 1.0 t 130 hp redline is 6500 rpm cut out 6800 rpm

He might be going full throttle but he doesnt know the car, 5th gear hits 208 km\h, if you change it at 208kmh to 6th you can get it going to 220

Not at that speed. At 120mph the 1.5 have a better mpg
@@r.fumador1146 I doubt it, 1.5 has similar revs in gears 3-6.
How does this man shift so smooth
give a little bit of throttle when upshifting, then the gear changes are much smoother - especially in lower gears like 1st to 2nd to 3rd, later on it becomes smooth anyways.
And remember most modern cars have Rev Hang, which means rev's dont drop instantly like naturally aspirated engines (you might have seen videos where people are upshifting like crazy fast) so change 1st to 2nd for example in an extra second gap for the revs to match, that way its a lot smoother then trying to change instantly from 1st to 2nd (otherwise you'll jerk the car)

la mienne j'ai du remplacer le turbo pas pris en compte part la garage plus pompe a huile pompe a eau courroie sa fait un billet de 5000 en plus :/

Manufacturer's spec for 1.8 MT is 9.0 sec.
Technically the 1.5t replaces the 1.8. The 1.0t replaces the 1.4. It is all a matter of perspective :)

Have a 2013 Honda civic 1.6 IDTec and it has a Eco Mode but that only changes the cruise control . Nothing to the car performance.

Lot's of noise. I'm owner of Civic with 1.0 VTEC engine.Also i dislike the gearshift too.Everything else is ok as the car is not expensive.
I completely agree with you the gearbox is really poor and badly aged and very poorly soundproofed at high speed.

@@enricviv I don't like shifting from first gear to second.Its not smooth and also I'm not a fan 6th gear..When you have to move it slightly to right so you don't catch 4th
Yes on the noise. My car has both sets of wheels on 16inches, 215 wide tyres. It is considerably quieter than the 17inch 235 wide wheels, yet no quieter than my old Octavia 2.
