I bought a SH 2018 Honda Civic 1.5 Sport as the salesman told me about the cost of changing the timing belt on the 1.0 litre version and that Honda were advising people to get them changed earlier than the recommended service schedule. I am so glad I went for the Sport version, it is a fantastic car to drive, so comfortable and so economical on fuel. I got 62.5 mpg on a trip from Wales to north England.
Mines just had the 2 product updates, the software update for the possible misfire issue is great piece of mind. Hats of to Honda to putting their hands up and in their pockets, total cost of product update that my dealership will be reclaiming came to £945. Just out of curiosity has your garage done many?
@@exploreitsgood4u I think it’s important to find one with a really meticulous service history, and then I think it’s good that the manufacturer is standing over the issues🙂 1.6 diesel and 1.5 petrol run off a chain if you want to avoid the belt version.
I have a question: I just bought a 2019 Honda civic with 13000 miles, do I have to change the timing belt in 2 years then? Even if the car will have 23000 miles as I do 5000 miles per year more or less

Thank you for watching I appreciate it.. okay, the best way, as far as I can see in terms of value for money to dechrome is to go to somebody who does vinyl wrap and just get them to cover it in the gloss black, shouldn’t take any more than one hour! And I reckon you should be able to get away with paying about €250👍🙂

How much does it cost to change the timing belt?
@@Paul7296 I as told about £1,800 but that was at the main dealers.
920 euros main dealers in wexford town got it done last week

Those updates are only starting recently so we haven’t done any yet 🙈 we are running a bit behind schedule

Yes 👍 the belt can perish over time so 6 years old it has to be done ✅

What is the average price for the timing belt. I read some place that honda has decreased the price for it but I am not sure.
We charge about €1350 for the job 👍
Over £1600 for the Wet cambelt change, ridiculous! At 6 years or 60,000. That car is due..
They seem to take the engine out in the UK.. we don’t, so it gets done for about €1300🙂👍
