    little piece of advice - if you want to see most of munich : dont take the u-bahn or the s-bahn (unless strictly necessary) , because they are mostly underground, take the tram ! you almost get everywhere with it, and you see a lot of the city !

  • @StefanSulistyo

    An addition to the dress tips: Afternoon or evening thunderstorms can happen any day in summer, even if it’s not in the daily forecast (caused by the geographic situation with the mountains close by in the south). It’s always a good idea to carry a small pocket umbrella and/or rain jacket you can stuff in your bag.
    Also watch rain radar apps towards the afternoon, the thunderstorms will usually form south west of the city and move in north east direction.

    Thank you @HappytoWander! This is super helpful! Going to Germany in the next month and wondering if you have any tips for Baden Baden, Berlin, or Heidelberg?

    • @HappytoWander
      @HappytoWander  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Yay so happy you found it helpful!!! I haven’t been to Baden Baden and I’ve only been to Heidelberg once BUT I do know Berlin quite well. Apart from the general Germany must-knows (czcams.com/video/xf0byg9qO6o/video.htmlsi=pjNYcDlIyyOU_wVC), I haven’t written anything about it yet but here are some quick tips off the top of my head haha:
      - Berlin is quite big so definitely make a sightseeing plan according to neighbourhood as you’ll want to avoid doubling back
      - Some of the main tourist sights (eg Checkpoint Charlie) are quite underwhelming so lower your expectations haha.
      - Definitely go beyond Mitte to visit different neighbourhoods to get a better feel for the city
      - The Reichstag building is REALLY cool (and free) but you need to book a ticket in advance so try to do that ASAP
      - There are tons of different unique museums/attractions in Berlin for every interest so don’t feel pressured to see the most famous museums just because they’re well known! Pick what you’re personally most interested in. I loved the Computer Games Museum for instance
      - food-wise, currywurst & Döner are a must, but Berlin has an amazing international and vegan food scene so you’re really spoiled for choice!
      - If you plan to go out, know that “going out” culture in Berlin is really casual. You can leave the high heels and club dresses at home 💃🏻
      - Lastly, I’d recommend reading up on the history of Berlin before you go so you can understand the historical context of the main sights/have a bit of knowledge when you visit museums. Makes things way more interesting!
      Hope that helps. Depending on when you go, I may have a Berlin guide prepped by then but if not, have an amazing trip and enjoy 🫶

  • @juguy2110
    @juguy2110 Před 6 měsíci +1

    Very well done, you really notice that you live in munich for quite some time! Tip from a local for the beer enthusiasts: The quality of most of the "big 6" of the breweries is kinda bad actually. I mean if its tap you can drink it (augustiner and hacker pschorr are the best imo, hofbräu and löwenbräu are disgusting) but when it comes to bottled beer i would highly recommend the smaller breweries, like Giesinger, Haderner of Tillmanns from munich or maxlrainer or mooser liesl from the region. Also giesinger is sold in more and more bars in munich and that is for a reason.

    • @jeanmariezeyen111
      @jeanmariezeyen111 Před 2 měsíci

      right ! giesinger makes a really great weissbier...and so does the "airbräu" at the airport ! forget about paulaner end franziskaner..augustiner is ok !

    for MVG tickets, how do you validate them?

    • @Annie__230
      @Annie__230 Před 2 měsíci

      Saw this on trip advisor
      “Train tickets, that is, DB tickets, never have to be validated. However, you have to enter your name(s) on the Bayern Ticket. The ticket has blank lines for that, and you should enter the names before the departure of the train. The reason is to make it impossible to sell a used Bayern Ticket when you have arrived at your final destination and don't need it any more.
      An MVV single ticket or day ticket doesn't have to be validated either, afak. It is for a specific day. An MVV strip ticket needs to be validated, but I'd advise against buying those as you always seem a have a few strips left by the time you leave Munich, and for your next visit, they will have expired, as they expire when prices are raised.”

Check out Nik at Away together he has a very good cadence. I think you have one of the best channels for travel but you need to take your time when describing the trip. If you’re rushed to put out a video you will put out a video and lose subscribers because it is not enjoyable to watch and frankly very stressful. I couldn’t make it to the end. Not good. What don’t you watch your videos, take one of them and film it over in a slower speed?
