Hi guys, or hi you 2s, my name is Petra Nachtsheim, and wanted to say that l lived in Germany Munich over the years, l know München very well, and l truely miss it, recently for a reason l ended up here back in Canada ( long Story) but l sure hope someday l will return back home to Germany via Munich.
Munich is for me one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and everything in walking distance.
As with Marienplatz is concerned, l had lots of time either walked there per foot, or if one is in the hurry, one can take the " U-Bahn or S-Bahn " directly to Marienplatz, and l too more than enough did explore around Marienplatz, and especially around the christmas time, l really enjoyed there christmas markets, something l sure don't see in this country Canada 😢, and what l really mis now is the yearly Oktoberfest, here in Canada, the Canadians don't know that which l miss very much.
Just watching you 2s going through Munich makes me really homesick to go back home to Germany via Munich, l hope someday l will be able to go back there again.
Enjoy Munich, its such a beautiful city, l left my best girfriend behind in Munich which is for me very sad, l'm still in touch with her per whatsapp video chat, as l said, l hope someday l will return back home to Munich, l'd rather be in Munich than here in Canada.
Enjoy you 2s, and take care,
    Petra Nachtsheim

Hi Petra, I can understand why you miss Munich. It looks beautiful and fascinating. I don’t know where you live in Canada but there is a Christmas market in Ottawa and possibly elsewhere. As a Canadian, I hope you discover the beauties of this country like A+K did and that you make plenty of new friends as well.

Oktoberfest is really something you should experience even if you don't drink. You have other options to drink and so many different foods to eat. It is a family friendly event so drinking is obviously not required. Of course, you can get black out drunk too but Oktoberfest (or how the locals call it: "Die Wiesn") is anything you make it to be. Even Germans from other regions see it as an alcohol focused and sloppy event but those are lazy prejudices. I encourage everyone to try it out.

Here's the thing about that Schnitzel -- Andys actually does them correctly and hammers them thin enough, which is very important. A properly hammered Schnitzel will always look gigantic (and be much more delicious) compared to one that's been barely beaten. It's not that vast an amount of meat!

Fun fact: Andy's Krablergarten was one of Freddy Mercury's favorite places where he often went when living in Munich in the 80s!
For Bavarian restaurants I would not recommend Hofbräuhaus at all though. The quality is not good and it's mainly a tourist trap. You have to go to the backside of Hofbräuhaus instead though and buy bread from Hofbräuhaus-Kunstmühle, which is the last operating mill in the city of Munich and it's literally right in the middle of the city. They make excellent bread and awesome desserts :)

Hi! The drone laws in Germany (and Europe in general) were not very straightforward so we decided not to fly it there. There are lots of restricted zones and regulations about the license, etc.
Sorry if that isn't very helpful. Thank you for watching!

I had to laugh when you commented about using different currency. The only time I got to visit Munich was on a 4 country biz trip in the late '90's. The euro wasn't established everywhere yet, so i had 4 currency's worth of expense reports to prepare.

Goulash in Germany is a stew or ragout. It's even more common in the Czech Republic (less spicy/tomato-y, more savory, it's darker) where it is also a ragout. But it originates from Hungary where it is called "Pörkölt". The real goulash in Ungary is a soup.

They bought it at the soup kitchen, so it was goulash soup, not Hungarian goulash

@@santaclaus0815 I recently wondered if there is a difference between a ragout and goulash and ask a friend who is a cook. Though similar there are differences, e.g. the order you fry the ingridients in the pot like meat first or onion first , plus a ragout could have smaller pieces of meat while a goulash could be more chunky.

I can imagine, that Munich was not part of Germany in the 1500's, since there was technically no Germany back then - just the HRE of which Bavaria was a part of.

To eat the white sausage you can just make a cut along the sausage and peel the whole thing at once. But there are tons of ways to peel it. Its like its own science in munich. But you always eat it with a pretzel to switch the flavors a bit or its too meaty or heavy. And traditionally you would even drink a wheat beer with it and eat it before noon. Usually people do this on sundays. But nowadays people also eat it after noon. In the past it had something do do with sausages going bad because there were no refrigerators or something like this. So the tradition is before noon.
And the pretzel has too much salt by design so you can choose how much you want on there. If its too salty just brush some off.
The sweet Mustard you can buy in any grocery store if you want to bring it home. Its pretty cheap like 2€ or something for a glass jar. I dont think you get this anywhere else in the world.

I like that they have a non-alcoholic version too. Adventures of Matt and Nat said they experienced the German staring thing too. Apparently there it's not seen as rude.🤷‍♀

Schnitzel isn't Austrian - Veil Schnitzel is Austrian, which is also called Wiener Schnitzel. The schnitzel itself probably came from outside, somewhere in the South of Europe. It's origin has been lost. But there are many variations in Europe, with the Wiener Schnitzel being the most famous one.
Since you said it's pork it's definitely not Austrian though.

Shnitzel isn't "Austrian" it's pan Germanic. Wiener Schnitzel is Austrian primarilarly but that one is only made with veal.
