    I love your hairstyle, it looks so beautiful. I would love to have some tea, hold on, while I get my cup across, lol.
    When I saw the title of the video, I was a bit confused, I was like "The BookZealots had travelled to London for a book Tour, and have come to show us the last Bookshop in London" lol,
    This is a great title from the author, and I love your description of it. Thanks for sharing with me. My regards to Prometheus

      Prometheus gives you a bow and says hello good sir! I definitely like your thoughts of us traveling to London. 😁 Maybe one day.
      Would you like cream or sugar in your tea? And would you like some cookies too?
      That crazy hairstyle was a real fashion during WW2. it's called Victory rolls hairstyle.

      I heard about the coffee the day before I heard about the BP fire. #101 if you're keeping track. I'm wondering if we'll be rationed. Part of KY borders Indiana so we might be affected.

      How are the food options in your area? I've heard there are issues getting worse in many countries. The Last Bookshop in London was a spur of the moment read. It was mentioned to me, my library actually had a physical copy and I thought why not?! I'll be doing it again next month with this author's author ww2 book. LOL

    • @aekorfker
      @aekorfker Před rokem +1

      @@BookZealots Food options are still pretty okay, but the prices are going through the roof, especially beef and butter and such (we know why) This is typically a book I would get from the library, not my typical reading either, but it’s history and books and a bit of romance for escapism which is sometimes just what I need ;) .
      On a side note I haven’t own a library card in some years because it’s not easy for me to get there, but I just made a request to a service where volunteers bring and pick up books, I’m so excited about it!! Hopefully they grant my request (is that very formal to say ‘grant my request’😅?)

    • @BookZealots
      @BookZealots  Před rokem +1

      @@aekorfker LOL I hope they grant your request as well. =) And the program sounds similar to The Librarian of Boone's Hollow. Like you, I prefer to get these types of books from the library. I'm supposed to be reading my own books so I'm breaking my goal for the time being.
      Oh yes, the meat and butter here are ridiculous as well. We have cut our food buying and it's still more than our budget. this month I went over by $66 and change. I give Prometheus the extra food. He's still growing and I don't need to eat three meals a day. I'm healthier for it, so I'm looking at it as a blessing. Sugar, flour, cooking oil, rice, have been scarce or gone when I go to the store. I've heard eggs and dairy have been scarce and expensive too. The butter has gone up about $3.00. I live in a very poor community too. I wonder if theft has increased. hmmmm 🤔

      @@BookZealots I’m so sorry to hear things really (which I heard on some m sources but not on the main ones of course) have gone that far, where you live, we still can pretend like things haven’t changed so much, but I think it’s a matter of time. I understand your reasoning in how you distribute the food in the house and that it is a blessing also, its a time to tap back into old time household wisdom and doubling down on common sense I feel.
      Ha yes wouldn’t that be fitting to make that the first book I borrow from the library when they ‘grant my request’ 😄

      🤔 I'm not sure this would be a good book for you right now based on what you shared with me. There are some tough parts of the bombing. I wouldn't want it to add to your stress dealing with the fires. I'm currently readingThe Librarian of Boone's Hollow which is listed as Christian. This one so far is dealing with the great depression in KY and books. You are the better judge for what you can handle, but The Last Bookshop in London does have some hard hitting issues in it. I only mentioned one in the review. I wish I could help you in some way.

    Hi I really need a summary of this book for a school assignment and I don't have time to read the book. I'm asked to state the plot in detail. And I wanted to ask if you could help me, please 🙏🏻

    • @BookZealots
      @BookZealots  Před měsícem

      Hello, I have so many questions. Where are you at? Why don't you have the time to read? It's an average size book and would take a day or two of solid reading. Or can you access the audio? I read this book almost two years ago and checked to see if I wrote anything about it and I have nothing written about it, not even on goodreads. I do remember snippets about it. It's a survival story during ww2 in London. Working in a bookshop with a grumpy old man. The girl didn't know much about books but she started reading and learning and appreciating them.

    • @mishelgoloshvili4022
      @mishelgoloshvili4022 Před měsícem +1

      @BookZealots I'll explain, I have to submit the assignment next week. And that's 30% of my final grade in literature. And I don't have time to read the book because I study every day until 5pm and then I have other assignments. And it won't take me a day or two to read the book because English is not my native language 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@mishelgoloshvili4022 Have you tried looking up reviews on goodreads.com? You might be able to splice together comments to get details of the story from that platform.
      What types of information do you need? I looked up goodread reviews myself, because I couldn't even remember the main character's name. But Grace Bennett and her friend left a small town to get jobs in London. They stayed with a woman and her son. The son ended up going to war. I think there was a cat too. There's information about food rations. I don't have the book. I borrowed it from a library, otherwise I could flip through it to try and help you you.
      What are you getting your degree in? And why was this book chosen? I gave it a generous three star rating. It did have a small romance in it. A man who was in the military and recommends books to Grace.
