The Chevy did well for having the smaller motor. That 6.0 is bullet proof.
They better then my stupid ram . How u blow a motor in 40 k?
Must've ran it out of oil at 140k if it died
@Giovanni Luchetta Must have been TERRIBLY abused or was run without oil. My old work truck made it to 602k miles.
See if you guy's can fit in the front seat of the frontier next. lol
Tommy Hammond Jesus no
Tommy Hammond the Ford ranger is much larger hahaha try that one
Fords still in the shop?
@Goldys Garage nope ford equals found on road dead
This was a fun video to watch. I really enjoyed seeing you guys just having fun and kidding around.
I'm reporting you guys to social services. Poor Jeff.
Probably one of my favorite videos yall have ever done. Absolutely hilarious
Geez, I'm glad there was nobody here in the house to hear me laughing at the computer screen !
Thanks for my morning laugh, it's a good way to start the day.
You guys are hilarious, keep up the great work!
I still drive my '96 Dodge Ram with the 5.9.
I drive an ‘01 with a 5.9 everyday. Slow as hell but a good truck overall.
great video Amazing Race👍
R.I.P Geoff
L Rizo He lived a good life but is in a better place now.
Just fluff his head back up, he'll be fine. :) Then get him a "Snoopy" helmet!
You guys are definitely entertaining !!
It's amazing that there are still regular cab pickup trucks produced.
can you do a gas milage loop while towing and not towing with the ford f250 , dodge 2500 and chevy 2500 using the gas engines?
fun review guys. If possible is there a way to get 3 of the same trucks From Chevy, Ram, Ford and close to the same rear ends. Im looking at going to gas in a 1 ton 4x4 vs diesel this time and not certain if I want the Ram or Ford V8.
That was a good laugh, great video.
This is an Awesome Video guys LOL
i was laughin all the way intis video i had a blast hahahahahaha you three are great and a little silly too
U.P.S. Uses 6.0 gm gas motors in their whole entire fleet. Most trucks running 300k miles with minimal issues at average 15k to 20k lbs a day under stop start and go miles under extreme abuse should tell you something about that motor. Just saying. Plus they are cheep to repair and replace
I have a friend thats a mechanic for ups and he said a trans last 1 to 2 years and engine gets rebuilt every 90k to 130k max because all the stoping and starting so ya i doubt 300k trouble free lol
@@Michael_ryan91 No way you're rebuilding an Allison every year or two.
@@WilliamStewart1 maybe not idk but i know the 6.0 has the 4l80 behind it in the ups trucks and i personally had one and it was ok in my silverado needed a rebuild at 150k
And dont forget ram has the aisin which is as strong as any auto in a pickup!
6.0 gas in whole fleet? Haha! Strange that I've seen them in Fords and diesels and 4.3 v-6 if they were all 6.0 gm! Struggle with the truth much? Bahaha!
very fun video fellas!
+Oz Gültekin Thanks!
Fun video!! 😊
Can you do a frame twist test with the new year models of the Superduty, Silverado, and Ram? The last time I saw one Ford still had a C channel Frame.
lol the sad song when the bear hit the window had me dying😱😂😂😂😂
i want to see some regular cab short bed 4x4 off road reviews.
jlen82 Although they only make regular cab long beds in HD pickups, I second this comment. More Regular Cab HD 4x4 reviews, please.
I recently drove a 2016 1500 high country with a 6.2. Why is that motor not avaliable in the 2500? How does the 6.2 compare to the 6.0?
Does the new Oshkosh The HUMVEE Replacement Mil-Spec vehicle have that new 6 liter Vortex engine in it?
Who's white Cummins is that in the background at 7:39?
I agree 100% with Andre, the 6.0 needs an update, does anyone know when it will happen, I heard it won't make 2020 emissions, so what's next
I went through TFLTruck's videos and, please anyone correct me if I'm mistaken, but I don't see any testing on that RAM. And NO, the Power Wagon doesn't count.
Are there more videos involving the RAM coming?
Why didn’t you guys do a mpg test on the Chevy?
Fun video. I like Tommy's wit.
Liked it before I played the video. Always like the drag race segments.
+Freddie Causey Thanks.
This new video thing is great
+Jonathan Mead Thanks!
I like this episode.
That was bad ass
I'd like to see a Ford F-250 XL with the 6.2 take on chevy and Ram.
This was good
Gm really needs to up the power in the 6.0 and/or make available the 6.2 for gas 2500
where is the F250? I want to see a new 6.2 go up the Ike Gauntlet!
+MattN03 We are still waiting for this truck. It's not here yet.
The Fast Lane Truck, I hope you can get the 6.2! How about running the 2017 6.2 vs Mr. Truck's 6.2 and compare them?
Giddy like a child to see it when it comes. I honestly would love to see a towing test of 8K between the new gasser F-250, and a 3.5L EcoBoost. That is of course, if you guys do take requests. =)
Should've strapped Mr. Truck with the bear that'll overcompensate. :)
All respect for Mr.Truck, sorry for the joke :)
I understand this is an older video. You have to take into consideration the gearing. What rear end is in the trucks? The gearing in the transmission. The weight difference is huge. How much gas is in the tank? Also, these arent exactly race trucks. They are both set up to work.
i see a front diff on the ram?
More weight over the rear wheels? But in the Chevy, the extra weight is in the front anyway! Really Geoff might weigh 175, Nathan 240?, Roman 250 Andre' 220? You might still need more!
Single cab GMC Sierra review please
Same as Chevy!
You would think with all various construction, farming, and civil duty vehicles roaming around where I live, I'd see a hemi work, but no, the all the "out-dated" 6.0 with steel piston sleeves that can idle to keep a coffee maker running 24/7 and still last 300k - 400k miles.
The 6.0 has been untouched for a reason. People buy it because its been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. Even the modern 5.3 has the same power and way better fuel economy. The problem is people buying the 6.0 have a purpose in doing so and don't care. Even the modern Chevy police cars use the 6.0. Sure, a much higher horsepower 6.2 would bolt right in, but the Chevy pursuit car already has the highest top speed of all the big three's regular use police cars, so who cares?
Years and years ago they had Novas with hot 350s that the police loved because they were power overkilled. The only issue is everyone kept crashing them.
They can keep that outdated never broken 6.0 forever, I'd never knock it. Not an apples to apple's comparison, but how many of you Ford guys wish some iterations of the old 351 still existed? Maybe even a 302? No farmer wound pick an ecoboost over either of those...sorry.
My lifelong friend and his family own and operate a massive dairy farm. His dad had a 94 1500 chevy that was used and abused as a farm truck. Pulled every implement on the farm with it at some point. Reliable as the setting sun. A neighboring farmer installed four large chicken barns. With those barns he bought three brand new dodge work trucks. This was 2004. Those trucks were destroyed from usage in 3 years. Rust everywhere, chewed thru brakes, and mechanical and electrical problems to no end. I witnessed this molar garbage with my own two eyes. That same farmer has one of the three trucks sitting on his property still, albeit it's no longer useable as a vehicle. Although it keeps the mice warm in the winter. Oh and that 94 Silverado? My buddies son will be driving it to school as his first vehicle.
Weird. On our farm we ran dodges most often because they were they put up with the abuse better than the others. Of course the overriding factor was whatever we could get the cheapest at the time.
+Bunz21 I had 3.5 ecoboost Expedition as a work car eat a turbo bearing at 26k miles, and I babied it because I knew the reputation they have. You'll never sell me on an Ecoboost. No dice.
+CMG30 Years ago my father had a 72 Dodge truck with no power anything, including brakes or steering. It had a 4 speed with a creeper gear and 360. Not pretty, slow, but it worked and was rugged. Hell, we even nicknamed it Sherman. I think those days are gone for FCA though. I do see high mileage non-Cummins Rams though. It just seems like they also have the highest ratio of odd failures too...at least around here. One of my friends had 4.7 v8 in a Dakota. Had it forever until rust succumbed it to the bone yard. He bought.his wife a Durango with the hemi that promptly killed itself at 70k and left him scratching his head. He drives a Sierra now and his wife has Trailblazer with a 5.3. They both are happy and he still likes Dodge. Just not enough to buy a new car from them.
Ashes 2 Ashes couldn't agree more 👌
Ah the good ol "Which one will get you fired faster for winning drag races" test
6.0 is a bullet proof engine. Glad they're still making them today. Wish I could say the same about the powertrains they put in the half ton trucks.
on the Chevy did he put it in 4x4 and use the break and gas at the same time to get a good launch
although the ram did have a lot more power
LOL, That was great!
y did u not add weight to ford
Confusing 5.7 is 395hp/410. 6.4 is 410hp/429tq. I think they make the 6.4L with more power. Make the power gap larger. Gm does with the 5.3L and the 6.2L
@7:12 E nomini padre "Mein Chef ist ein großes Scheißgesicht" ... Funny how the german language finds its way in something humerous. Keep the videos coming guys !!!
Hemi FTW
damn Jeff took a hit
That was gangsta "oh im sorry automatic"
Great to see everyone having fun, definitely entertaining. If that drag race was done in the Colorado snow I know the outcome would have been very different. ☺
if there was snow, dodge would sent a 4wd truck instead but since its dry they sent a 2wd to look better.
is that hemi smoking already
I see the Mavic. Isn't this the same drone that Roman had a temper tantrum about? A $1100 paper weight?
Bad ass
Huge power difference!
Not really lol
Everybody wants a review of the Ford F-250 gas.
You can tell Tommy didn't turn off TC, the 6.0 would have been much closer if not ahead. The 6.4 looks good on paper, despite sounding like a tin can... there's much more KNOWN issues.
Drive whatever you like. But I recall GM winning the Ike LOL
I personally bought my 3/4 ton gasser to pull a 40' gooseneck & regularly pull more than "max Tow"
The Chevrolet would be a lot better with the 6.2l V8
Aivery Cardinal agreed
Aivery Cardinal nope. Aluminum blocks are shit.
Generic Name ah yes because it makes more power and is much lighter. horrible
False. Work trucks need high reliability under large sustained loads. The 6.2 is great for cars and mall crawlers, but real working trucks need reliability.
Aperson156 I understand what you're saying but the aluminum block is not the first thing i would expect to go wrong.
R.I.P. Geoff
don't knock the vortec motors, I've had a 4.3 liter vortec and a 5.3 liter, both great engines, I know a guy with an 01 silverado 5.3 with 280k on it and he drives it daily. let's see the Ford ecoboost last that long, lol.
Wait rams have automatic windows?????
What about the chevy 6.2?
+Zergling It's not available in the Silverado HD.
not a good comparison but still a great video. I'm waiting for gm to update the 6.0 but I think they are still wanting to milk that cash cow. plus the customers love how they are so bulletproof and perform well.
🖒
Drag racing a truck. Literally the most useless metric when considering performance. We need to start a campaign to “make trucks, trucks again”
r u getting a ford work Truck
+Antonio The Savage Yes, but its delayed in getting to us.
Should have done another run without Geoff, Andre, and Roman in the truck to see how much more of a lead the RAM would have.
They sound like my Tahoe
Rip Geoff
LOL Ok you should have raced with the chevys traction control off and had the inexperienced driver brake torque it also. But was a close race just the same and smiles all around are great.
Tommy was sleeping at the start line.
They're both turtles the 6.0 is a trailer hauler not a corvette motor
Is Ray-Ban a sponsor?
why did you guys not test the 6.2L vs. the dodge. Chevy does have an updated engine.
John Behlmann the 2500 doesn't come with a 6.2
My 8.3 Vortec 496 hd 2500 Silverado Crewcab would EAT either one of these !
How is that Chevy a work truck, that's a really nice truck!!!
Imagine the them 4 when they were heading out and had to carry ted the bear, every one that doesn't know the be like that
Poor Geoff
My vote for the vortec 6.0, drinks gas but makes the money for it, plenty power to get it done.
360 HP and 380 Ibs of torque from the Chevy 6.0L LS Vortec V8. The 5.0L Coyote V8 in the 2011-2014 Ford F150 makes the same amount of power and torque as the 6.0L LS Vortec V8.
CJ Colvin yep and the 5.0 will outrun both of them
Peter Griffin Oh definitely but keep in mind that the 5.0L Coyote F150 is a half-ton so it's definitely lighter than these two full-tons.
PAIN Immoral someone is bent out of shape for no reason. Talk about special ed....
Peter Griffin You're just a kid addicted to top speed lol. Grow up you're actually dumb..
Why didn't they put the new 6.2 in the 2500?
V.Vega Because the 6.0 is proven and has been extremely reliable. There's a reason they haven't changed it much.
yea i know it's been around forever but the half ton is available with the 6.2 and it has 80 more hp and almost 100lbft more torque than the 6.0. And so far it's proven to be just as reliable as the old engines. I'd bet on it being more efficient too. I can't see any logical reason to keep using the 6.0. Why would a half ton have a stronger engine than a 3/4 ton?
V.Vega The 6.2 is NOT currently designed for continuous heavy duty operation with its cylinder deactivation and premium fuel requirements for its higher compression ratio setup. There is a new heavy duty gas engine coming in the new next generation truck.
+V.Vega The 6.2L is higher ouput light duty engine, uses an aluminum block, direct injection, all things that make it less reliable, less durable, and significantly more expensive. The Votec is a simple, tried and true engine, with a much more robust and inexpensive CGI block, its made just for work. Besides, why is drag racing so important here? Fleets buyer have very different priorities.
The 6.0 has an aluminum block as well. Direct injection doesn't make it less reliable either so that's not even an argument. Cylinder deactivation isn't an argument either, very easy to turn off. The higher compression ratio can be solved simply with either dished pistons or heads with larger chambers. And wouldn't it be easier to cast two different heads than it is for them to build two completely different engines? I've yet to see any logical reason to continue building the 6.0.
OK guys I disappointed, Chevy makes a almost Identical truck regular cab and all. I just checked. All thought it was fun seeing you all climb in that Ram.
Man, I wish GM would bring back the 8.1 Vortec with modern upgrades as an option for guys who want more power but not a diesel, I'm a GM guy but I got to admit 6.0 is just out dated and under powered. It is relatively cheap to replace and work on but there just not enough power for a 2500.
What happened to Mr. Truck
+C Rojas He is all good
Lol, do you even know what you said in German there? :D I don't think that is PG-13 :)
Tommy had a great comeback 👏
apples to okra come oooonnnnn u have 500k subscribers??????????????????????
I'm not a new truck kind of person don't really care for the new body styles, I am a gearhead though and believe in practicality and Dodge has me SOLD
Do a Long term review on the ford raptor.
+Chevy1095 64 We did a few months ago.
Ford's SUCK !
Geoff looks totally wasted lol
Those are three of the fattest heads to ever squeeze into a regular cab. Carnival float pinata heads with not much more in'em. Mr Truck rules.
Geoff 😂😂
The 6.0L engine is not that far off of Ford's Coyote. And that's not even the top of the line engine. GM should offer their 6.2L in the heavy duty trucks as well.
***** oh I didn't think of that. Thank you!
Now put the 6.6l diesel duramax vs the cummins 6.7l diesel let see who wins.
Isaac Nuri Cummins is a pulling engine. Duramax will win every time.
even though everyone can see this even with 600lb's added to dodge it was still far from fair test and just for laugh's.
arbiter1 naw bro, it's a video for chevy, update the dinosaur they got under the hood lol if you want a real truck get a duramax don't fool your self with a gas guzzling 6.0
No reason to replace a tried and tested engine that has proven long term reliability. My uncle had an 01 2500HD 6.0 gas, 200k+ miles on it, other then little bit of lifter noise on cold start up which went away after it warmed up a little, the think ran perfectly.
