Offering a 32 year old £100k+ a year for 3 years is a joke and something that arsenal would never do before this current regime. We are run by a man who uses Arsenal for leverage against his real business ventures in America and can only buy players from Kia Joorabchian because the Raul Sanllehi doesn't have the nous to attract any other players to the club. Only once UCL football is attained can fans expect to see the 24 to 28 year old signings of quality that shall mean getting to where we should be. If you look across Europe there is a trend of young talented players not delivering on the pitch. This wasn't the case 10, 20 years ago. We got burnt with Ozil & Pepe & we ain't getting that money back. Yes, Willian is 32 but he is quality & hasn't cost 75 million. There is no player who is 21/24 that is setting the world on fire. The best players are in their late 20's, early 30's now. The depth is not there any more.

I'm fine with the Willian signing if it doesn't effect other possible transfers. We'll start the season in 4 competitions, we need depth, Saka, Martinelli, Reece are still very young. If they plan on selling Laca then the Willian signing makes even more sense. If we somehow get Partey and a CB or two I'll be happy, but we really do need some proper creativity in that midfield, think we'd all choose Coutinho over Willian. Let's see what happens though.

Excellent early signing, great for adding depth to the squad. Willian still has a lot to offer. It's an excellent signing which will allow the younger players to settle in over the next 3 years rather than getting thrown into the deep end.

Man Utd are realising how difficult this process can be. Arteta is doing everything right so far. We can't have huge expectations next season but can prepare for the one after now by making the right signings. We have to factor in injuries during the season look at Chelsea players in the final... they were all falling one by one.
Most admit I'm not 100% convinced by signing willian but if Arteta thinks hes a player that can do well for us then might aswell just get behind it and for a free signing we can't do much worse!
Coutinho is a no go then. This is a sign of things to come for this window I fear. Other clubs cast offs. And yet again an attacking player, if the defensive areas get neglected AGAIN this year we're gonna struggle AGAIN!

That time passed five years ago, there is no time to be positive when our club charge the highest ticket prices in the world but have only bought one world class player in six years.

I’m not gassed about the signing one bit, arsenal are going down a dangerous path only dealing with agents and contacts. Hope he does well but in reality he will only give us 7 or 8 solid games a season. We have to take what we have been given , we know that more then anyone as arsenal fans. I think the wages is a joke, considering the idiots up top made 55 people redundant. However, turkish I believe we should give him a season and see what he does, I believe he will improve our teams creativity and drive in them matches we struggle to create. I think it’s tragically ironic that FFP is being relaxed on the same year that every club is financially strained from COVID 19. Telling clubs that they can “spend as much money as you want” doesn’t really do anything for them.
Ffp is being relaxed because of covid so owners can pump funds into clubs to help them out over a difficult period

I'm fine with the Willian signing if it doesn't effect other possible transfers. We'll start the season in 4 competitions, we need depth, Saka, Martinelli, Reece are still very young. If they plan on selling Laca then the Willian signing makes even more sense.
If we somehow get Partey and a CB or two I'll be happy, but we really do need some proper creativity in that midfield, think we'd all choose Coutinho over Willian.
Let's see what happens though.

Sign the likes of Partey, Auoar and Gabriel and this signing is fine, but it doesn’t negate the need for central defenders and midfielders.
