This video is SO SLEPT ON! Keep killing it bro, your opinion makes the most sense out of all other resources out there.
Very informative video.
Great video. Good to see you talking about Credit Cards again!
Thanks! I’ll be doing more along with other financial topics 🙌🏼
Gotta get that Brilliant card before the wnd of the year!
Most definitely!
Great video btw, Dustin. Marriott Cards will be hot with travel coming back!
Thanks Luke! I agree. With travel coming back. These cards will be on people’s list to get 🔥
Great video and very timely 😉
Thanks Fernando 😉🤫
I didn't realize how many Marriott cards there were! I could see some of these with the 15 night contributing to your status if you were on the verge of entering some of their higher tier statuses. Incredibly well researched and well spoken Dustin! It's so fun learning what's out there to maximize the points/travel hacking! 😊
Thank you! I hope to have some more maximizing videos in the upcoming weeks, especially since travel is making a come back!
Finally some cc videos
They’ll be added in with some financial videos. I always said they’d come back 🙂
Great breakdown and comparison video. I would go with the Ritz card because of the travel credit and certificate. Take care Dustin and keep moving forward!
Thanks Joseph! The Ritz card is a good one! Take care!
Just picked up the Marriot Bonvoy Business myself. (Hoping to pick up the bold once I am below 5/24, that way I can stack both 15 qualifying nights and get gold status with outing having to pay the $450 fee with the brilliant).
Damn it, D. I so missed ur credit card vidz. And u’ve gotten bigger. Or ur shirts are getting smaller. Hahahaha
Thanks Dannee!
I just got the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Biz! Working on the SUB now!
It's a keeper card for sure!
Great angle on the Ritz.
Not sure about the grp but I like the Hyatt card but only have 1 WOH card and I wish I had the old card like many youtube guru lol.
You forgot to mention the 6 lounge access upgrades at Ritz Carlton properties. The Ritz Card is the best for sure.
Not sure if I agree with this one. If I give the Ritz travel credit its full value of $300 (which can't be hacked to buy flight tickets), effective AF is $150. So am I willing to pay $55 more than Boundless so that I can get 50k certificate instead of 35k certificate? Maybe... but not a no-brainer. I would rather get the Brilliant card to spend $300 on Marriott rooms than $300 on seat upgrades or airport lounges. I personally prefer Boundless so that I don't have to worry about spending $300, since I already get Gold status from Amex Plat. If I really care about PP or travel protection, I would use my CSR. Although I wouldn't mind having another metal card in my sock drawer wallet :D
Anyone know the restrictions as far as welcome offers for Marriot cards, i.e: how long I have to wait between approvals
What about the 10x for being a Marriott Bonvoy member? I have only seen this being applied to the Chase card and not seeing it at all shown in the Amex. Wouldn't the Chase cards with the 10x be more valuable?
Great vid man, I had been looking to get any high annual fee card I can that has travel/hotel credits (I’m active military) and the ritz card has always been mentioned but no one has ever said how to get it. Very informative.
If you have the time to make a video about cards with travel/hotel credits that might have a high AF would be greatly appreciated 🤝
Hey, which card did you end up going with?
@@Re3iRtH bonvoy boundless, almost at my one year mark to upgrade to the Ritz!
@@Ps3blazer Awesome! Which Bonvoy cards are upgradable to the Ritz?
@@Re3iRtH it’s the boundless and the bold, because they are partnered with chase
@@Ps3blazer got you. In a few weeks I will be at Chase 3/24. Gives me enough slots for two Chase cards. After hearing this, instead of the AmEx bonboy brilliant card I think I'm going to get the Chase boundless card and then product change to the Ritz after a year :)
Just seeing this vid, where do you get your shirts??? Specifically this one
I got this one on the clearance rack from TJMaxx
@@WallersWallet do you know what brand? Love tj maxx, just need cheap shirts that show off arms haha
Damn you got swoll bro. Congrats
Thanks! Working out between 5-7 days a week. 🙌🏼
Ritz (undeniable champ), Biz then Brilliant IMO, great vid Dustin, appreciate ya!!
Thank you! I appreciate you being here!
Quick Question about PP with Cards that offer unlimited guests (ex.ritz card) are able to bring 4 guests to a PP restaurant and get 4 $28 meals total $112 of food for free?
Gotta agree with Mark here - the Business Card. Multipliers just work.
Agreed. Those multipliers are the best of the bunch
I wonder if the Ritz Carlton card would be better than the CSR. It has all the travel protections and benefits, a lower effective annual fee after the travel credit, plus a free night. You would miss out on the increased UR redemption though I wonder how much that would matter.
If I get the boundless card and signup bonus with chase can I also get the brilliant signup bonus on amex or would I need to wait a certain period?
I would like to know the answer to this too
The Ritz Carlton card is the one I like thou AF $300 credit sucks to use unlike CSR. I don’t think I have seen a vid of anyone converting their CSR/CSP, Amex Marriott, etc to Ritz card🤔.
I got the bold last month. I’m helping my sister build her credit. So I thought why not get a few points while I’m at it. My Amex platinum gives me gold status at Marriott so I’m good there.
Points to help out. That’s always a nice added perk 🙌🏼
@@WallersWallet Why Bold vs. Boundless? More points for restaurants worth it?
Many of the cards Eg the boundless say “up to 17x” points vs 6x points on Marriott hotel spend. What is difference? How do you get from 6x to 17x? Any tips much appreciated!
That’s just marketing. You get 6X from the card and the other 11X comes from being a member of the Bonvoy program and having the Silver status they give you from something like the Boundless
I can't believe you didn't mention one of the biggest benefit on the Ritz why it's one of the best credit card period. It has that Visa infinite buy one plane tix get another free. This card is amazing
That benefit was discontinued. It was a great benefit when it was around
Hey , got a question
If i get Marriott boundless by Chase
Then can I get anothet Marriott bonvoy brilliant later ?
Yes
I currently have the Chase Freedom Unlimited. I am so stuck between getting Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Marriott Boundless. Help me out please. Anytime I travel I prefer to stay at Marriott hotels. Which is why I’m attracted to Marriott Boundless because you get one free night every year and 6x points on Marriott hotels. But I heard the Chase Sapphire Preferred is good for airlines and hotels too. So what am I missing except CSP is metal card vs Marriott branded card?
Chase sapphire preferred gives you 10x on hotels booked on their travel portal including marriott hotels. I just booked Westin Las Vegas and received 10x (marriott property (
I have the Bonvoy Brilliant and was disappointed to find out it only qualifies you to "buy" a Passport membership to lounges, not actually allow you access like the Ritz card apparently does.
The business version 😎👌💳
The biz version is quite nice! For Marriott loyalist, its a good card to use!
@@WallersWallet - Right on 👊💯
Waller’s Wallet and Mark Reese - thanks to videos from you both, seriously!
I upgraded my Boundless to the Ritz card last week. Received the new card within 48 hours and took it on my getaway this past weekend (Labor Day 2021) - had a Marriott stay.
I am hoping my Priority Pass card arrives ASAP as I have more upcoming trips this month and yes, more Marriott stays. 🙃 I already have an Admirals Lounge membership so I’m set there since I almost always fly AA. The restaurant credits are what I’m after…at least for DCA and IAD since food options are more varied outside the lounge.
On a related topic, I have some AA and a Delta miles I would like to use those in the next two years. Would love to chat about getting the most out of those miles and would be fantastic to connect for ideas based on your experiences. 👍
Cheers and keep the great content coming.
@@DJCinis - Congrats on your new Ritz card! For air miles, the value you can achieve varies widely based on the airline, route, timing, seasonality, and more. I almost always recommend starting with where you want to go. After you decide on a destination, then you work backwards to come up with a strategy to get there.
@@MarkReese Couldn’t be more true than starting with no destination in mind is most challenging. Haha! Appreciate the reminder and tip.
I’ve been most hesitant to select destination options given covid for now, so I’ve kept my travel to U.S. destinations for this year to keep up with airline and hotel status. Hopefully, such things will once prove beneficial in the not too distant future.
Thanks again and hope you don’t mind I reach out again at some point when the destination is set. 🙃👍
The brilliant bonvoy card gives platinum elite status now, did it surpass the Ritz-Carlton card?
This is a great question. Although, how useful are the additional benefits of the Platinum status? Worth the additional $200 in AF?
Definitely want to add a Marriott card to my wallet, but with none of them offering status any higher than gold, I just don't feel like making the jump. I hope Marriott and AmEx refresh the Brilliant card with that $650/$750 annual fee to make platinum easier to get. Then I'd jump! Great video by the way
Ignoring sign up Bonus, can I hold both the Ritz and the Brilliant? I thought there were some restrictions.
From what I understand you can only get the Ritz by upgrading from the brilliant. So probabaly not?
You absolutely can hold both at the same time if you for whatever reason want to. You can't upgrade from the brilliant to the ritz because they're completely different issuers (chase vs amex), but they're both the top tier card from their respective issuers. You can upgrade from the boundless or bold to the ritz card since they're all in the chase family
@@kevinherrera1117 can you hold ritz and boundless at the same time?
You sure can. There are some restrictions when it comes to the bonus, not holding multiple of them
On Chase’s website it says the Ritz card’s travel credit is only for airline incidentals?
Edit: tried adding the link to the benefit list on Chase’s site where it says it’s for airline incidentals, link was removed
I have Chase Ritz-Carlton Card. I spoke to a Chase representative recently. She told me any hotel codes as travel. So as long as I pay for my incidentals at checkout room my room account i can apply my travel credits.
I thought Ritz card travel credit was similar to amex with being incidentals but with any airline. Is this wrong?
I thought so too. Hope someone can verify
You're correct, it is for incidentals, and it's for any airline. But it's not restricted to airline incidentals. Hotels count as well
@@kevinherrera1117 Marriott only?
I have the Ritz-Carlton Card. I recently spoke to a Chase representative. She told me any hotel codes as travel. Just as long as I'm paying for my hotel incidentals from my room account in the end when I checkout.
@@bigcoz6956 Sorry for lack of knowledge but have never heard hotel and incidental together. What is a hotel incidental (Just resort fees if have them?)?
Does the ritz only give upto $300 credit for flights or hotels too?
Ritz should work for airfare and hotels. It’s for travel not just Marriott
@@WallersWallet thanks. I thought it was for baggage and stuff like that. I will keep it now.
Isn't the Ritz $300 travel credits only for airline incidentals? Looked it up to verify, hope I'm wrong.
I have the boundless, if I can use it for flights and hotels, It's a
no brainer to upgrade.
Would love clarification on this as well. I would upgrade my old Chase Marriott card with the annual 25k certificate in a heartbeat if this is true.
I have Chase Ritz-Carlton Card. I spoke to a Chase representative recently. She told me any hotel codes as travel. So as long as I pay for my incidentals at checkout room my room account i can apply my travel credits.
@@bigcoz6956 Hmm, that is definitely contrary to the verbiage online. I’d be curious to hear from someone who actually has been successful using it as a general travel credit.
Let's bring Dustin Credit guru spirit back to CZcams!
Too many ads playing in the middle of a video. Can you guys do something about that? Will be better if they played before afterwards
I most be missing something. I don’t see why I would have this cards if I have the Amex gold and Platinum.
Free night worth 85k points. That’s like $400 each year
The ritz card!!!!!!!!
Nice shirt
Do they make it for men?
Nah just babies. Borrowed it from my toddler, size is 3T 🙂
I'll wait for a Barclays version, no reason to have just two issuers.
The Boundless gives up to 17x on Marriot Hotels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny how they showcase that mix of status earnings plus CC multipliers, right ?
Which Marriot Card is the best? Whichever I can get the largest limit on so I can max it out at Gucci and Louis Vuitton
Oh good question! I mean business expenses right?
Lol
If you want to be taken seriously, you might want to stop wearing those size smedium tees
The only reason why one would want Marriott points is for the airline transfer partners...
Gotta love having access to partners like Alaska or AA (and others)
While the old hotel + air travel packages were solid, and I did a few of them, I disagree with the idea that you shouldn't consider Marriott points to use on Marriott stays. I use them mostly for Marriott stays, not airlines, and think that you can get better means of recurring airline miles from ongoing spend elsewhere typical. One of the rare occasions to consider transferring to airline partners is if you're getting a bonus like the current one of 3x Marriott points/$ on general spending for every $7500 spent up to 10 times through the end of this year and then transferring in 60k increments to partners like Japan Airlines, Korean Air, or Asiana where it's hard to get more than 1 mile per dollar otherwise, and even then I typically wouldn't do it because of competition for the same flights using different miles that are easier to acquire (i.e. Citi Double Cash + Premier + Rewards+ for 2.2 miles/$ on general spending on 100k miles/yr, or even more if combined with a promo transfer like the 25% bonus to Turkish Air Miles and Smiles in Jan 2019).
