Which is the BEST Marriott Credit Card? (Ritz-Carlton Card vs Marriott Brilliant)

  • Let's compare the Chase Ritz-Carlton card vs the Amex Marriott Brilliant card. Both of these credit cards are valuable hotel cards; however they do very different things.
    The Ritz-Carlton credit card's benefits and credits help to easily justify its $450 annual fee. Those perks mainly come in the form of an annual $300 airline credit and an annual free night award. The free night award can be use at any Marriott property with a redemption level of 85,000 Marriott points or less. That benefit alone can be worth over $400! The Ritz-Carlton also comes with a Priority Pass membership that also gives credit at Priority Pass restaurants.
    The Amex Marriott Brilliant card's benefits and credits are a little more spread out. You have an annual $300 dining credit that is broken down into $25 monthly increments. This card also comes with the same valuable free night award that is on the Ritz-Carlton credit card. Then for elevated Marriott status, the Amex Brilliant comes with 25 elite night credits and automatic Marriott Platinum status.
    The main catch with the Ritz-Carlton card is that it is discontinued and can only be obtained via a product change. In this video I go over the steps to get approved for Ritz-Carlton credit card.
    Both cards are packed with benefits and credits but which one suits your lifestyle better?

    I already used the Ritz-Carlton Card this year for its free night certificate at a 950.00 night at a Ritz-Carlton NYC. I already used all of the 300.00 travel credit. I've already used 4 lounge visits and 2 airport restaurants' visits this year. I used 4 days free primary car rental insurance this year. And last I have 2 trips next month October both stays in Ritz-Carltons where I already applied club level upgrades to both stays saving me upto 600.00 on one stay and upto 1500.00 on another. And both stays I'm applying the 100.00 property credit. Sweet!!!!

    Besides the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the Ritz-Carlton Visa also grants unlimited visits to the growing network of Chase Sapphire lounges. Other Priority Pass accounts only give one per year gratis. Could be a consideration if you’re regularly flying out of Boston or NYC now, with places like Vegas and San Diego opening up like later this year.

  • @GlitterBugAtl
    @GlitterBugAtl Před 5 měsíci +2

    Unless I missed it somewhere in the justifying the cost section at the end - the added benefit is that automatic platinum status with the Brilliant card gives you 150% bonvoy point credit for each stay starting day 1 if you stay at platinum or 175% (since it is a shorter path to)at titanium. While the Ritz card starts at gold so only 125% bonvoy point credit for each stay starting day 1 - so essentially Amex gets you more points for redemption towards award stays. So I would imagine there is a $ value that translate towards the annual fees. :)

      it would have to be " two-night minimum stay at The Ritz-Carlton or St. Regis using the Member Rate named “$100 Property Credit, Luxury Credit Card Rate,”" You do not have to pay in advanced. You can call RItz Carlton before booking to use your club level certificate. Disclaimer: the club level certificates can only be used on certain rates. get both. that means you get two ritz or jw or st regis every year. w ritz, you get three ritz club lounge passes a year and brilliant offers m club lounge so you have a pretty sweet two day vacation every year. add another free day or two if you are a big spender on your ccs. subtract out the ritz $300 airline credit and the $300 brilliant restaurant credit, and this is a no brainer. early check in and late check outs give you pretty much two half days which is way worth it to enjoy the superb resorts. all the other perks are gravy all ovah.

      1000% those benefits that you listed more than justify the annual fees. best case scenario to have both cards for some nice marriott stays

    The current signup bonus for Bonvoy Brilliant is 185k Marriot points. Ritz doesn't offer a SUB right?
