UPDATE: (As posted on IG shorts) The video was fixed. I got in contact with TeamCZcams on twitter and they helped me. I appreciate the help they gave me. Weird how the actual agents on the CZcams side were not able to do something TeamCZcams was able to do in less than 24 hours. In anycase I'm Happy

I appreciate that the matter was resolved albeit with much tribulation. Memes about people joking that Finland "does not exist" notwithstanding, every other CZcamsr, from Shadiversity (whose content are appreciated even if abrasive for the weaker hearts) to even Minecraft people, it's mind boggling how Alphabet (which is where Google's management moved to when they wanted to obfuscate their activities amidst the Facebook-social media fiasco in 2018) had become so high up the pedestal of power and influence that they refused to acknowledge that there could be more room for improvement for their algorithm-driven content enforcement.
I'm certain that the engineer that got fired-for telling the world that whatever AI development that Google does recently, is gaining sentience-has more to share that implicate that a lot more disturbing developments have gone up within the Googleplex. This issue of CZcams's seemingly Ferrari-like series of errors could be a preclude to more horrible things to come.

It's no secret that CZcams's support is horrible. Getting an actual answer or even just a conversation with a human being instead of an automated bot or a FAQ page is incredibly difficult. Hopefully the mistake is fixed and the video is monetized again. Good luck.

I got an email back from agent Nel. The only thing the email said was "Here is detailed infromation on age restriction" and gave me the list. I'm was like: Yes, I know, but WHAT does that have to do with the Finland episode? (Image attached on the community tab)

I think it's all about reducing harm to minors. I was told about the existence of Finland when I was 16, and could hardly handle it. The trauma of realizing that there existed a Nordic country so friendly and civilized, with healthcare and freedoms Americans can only dream of, nearly broke me. I can totally understand wanting to protect our children from this! You should be *at least* 21 before the secret of Nordic countries is revealed. You start with Canada at 12, and work your way up to Australia by 32.

It has to do with the fact that Finland doesn't actually exist at all.
This is something that I see quite a lot in the corporate world. The compliance departments in many companies are now telling employees not to reveal the reasons for decisions that affect customers. I think they have the attitude of "If we tell them the reason, they will have grounds to sue us, or at least to argue with the decision that we won't budge on, and also they might try to come up with more clever ways to break our rules." The problem is that most people who get caught in these situations aren't trying to do anything wrong, or haven't done anything wrong, and have no recourse and no way to fix the problem, if there even was one in the first place.
It's a disgusting practice. Maybe any time information is completely withheld it should be something you can sue for.
I don’t see that working long term. They will have to come with a reason eventually in cases like this.
This whole experience is just a small reminder that an elected government is still better than a corporation when it comes to justice. At least in Europe.

I'm a Finn and I have watched the video many times. Us Finns love when we are mentioned anywhere outside here and the video was great! It makes me happy that people of any age could learn about our country, I've met people who had no idea a country called Finland even exists! It wasn't offensive at all to me, and if the restriction is about the past wars with Russia then it's just ridiculous, talking about a countrys past is a part of GN videos. I hope this gets resolved as quickly as possible since this is clearly a problem of a broken CZcams algorithm and system. No one should go through this, especially not fully EDUCATIONAL content that has no controversy whatsoever. Unless the problem is with Finland´s ongoing NATO application. Which would make absolutely no sense.

Every video covering a country i think you all know it was follow up by Flag Fan Friday episode.. there, you will hear barb discussing the mistakes they've made from the country they covered.. you can watch all FFF episodes and you will know what im talking about but sometimes there are major mistakes that should be address as false information.. i can give you my country Philippines as an example. If you already watched it, you may have been surprised that they said there are tunnels connecting the islands of the Philippines but there isnt a tunnel like that as of this day.. barb did not address it seriously.. he only downplayed it like the only mistakes are those typographical errors plus mislocation of places .. so if my country had those mistakes, how can i trust those other countries they covered that i knew it also have mistakes after I watched their FFF.. hence this channel as educational channel is a 🧢

Just watched the Finland episode again and perhaps the fact you mentioned animosity with Russia/ Soviets. Despite what's going on in the world now, the video touches the history between the countries and that implies no reason for any restriction.
I am from Finland and have watched the video 2 times. It is maybe the most watched video about Finland and teaches about our culture. Now many underaged people can't learn about our country the best way possible. I hope this problem gets fixed and thank you for all this amazing content! 🇫🇮🙏

Didn't you talk about the wars with Russia? YT has been really arbitrary with content that even references wars. Channels like The Great War have their videos demonetized and age restricted ever so often.

I tried contacting their support FIVE TIMES and the fifth time I was told that we violated Instagram's terms of use and we will not be eligible to run ads ever again. My guess is that you mentioned Finlands wars with Russia in their history section. As mentioned in some of the other comments other channels have been having the same issues that reference war with Russia.

Someone big ( a government ) needs to sue CZcams to reveal their process for age restriction aso. Not the exact technical details but the overall logic. They won’t do it on their own. OR enough big CZcamsrs get together and start to cooperate to stand up to CZcams.
CZcams is pushing really hard for someone to get fed up and start a company that out-competes them.
They know that no company ever will. That’s the problem. If they tried, they would just buy them out.
Google will just blacklist them from their search engine, it’s really a monopoly at this point.

The reason most likely is that you mentioned the Winter War in the video, and CZcams has been known to react negatively toward history videos that discuss controversial events and conflicts, especially given recent events. It would be an extreme overreaction if that's the reason, but CZcams does as they please I suppose.

A channel I help work on had a video full on taken down because it had “copyright infringing content”. It was a video about fixing an Adobe CC bug where it wouldn’t uninstall when you went through Adobe’s own removal process. We appealed it, it took months and several conversations with YT’s Twitter support before someone finally got back to us, only to then say it was being permanently removed for “violent content”. A video about uninstalling Photoshop flagged for copyright and violent content. To this day I still don’t know what the actual issue was no matter how many times I’ve looked at that video
Ironically, this made me go back and re-watch the Finland video.

You have the scrip completed, just need a little updating. The channel has grown so much in 6 years, a reshot video would have so much the original video didn't. Mentioning wars with Russia is considered "sensitive" by CZcams. That's my guess. YT is not big on placing historical fact above profit.
You have to remember that YOU are not YT's customer, you are their PRODUCT. They make money by selling you and your content to advertisers. They don't care about you or the effort you put into your content, they care about advertising revenue - including that which comes from Russian investors and those companies that advertise products sold in Russia. Sensitive!
Except CZcams has stopped advertising in Russia since recent events. They get nothing out of appealing to advertisers targeting Russia, because they no longer offer that service.
So these folks think that it is appropriate to punish someone because he mentioned some historical war with Russia for a few seconds, not relating to Ukraine in the slightest?

I have a hypothesis how and why you got restricted: Russian trolls. You are telling a history of the relationship between Finland and Russia that is not Russian propaganda compatible. By reporting your video (a lot) the algorithm will probably overrule any human decision. I hope I am wrong but that is for me a very probable hypothesis. Sorry. I love your channel and I hope this video helps to solve it.

Very underrated comment, but you are probably right. Russian trolls have been quietly doing their work, influencing politics etc. and being ignored and overlooked whilst doing so. Now that Finland is joining NATO, it's their prerogative to change people views on it.

I know, I got the same response when I tried to ask for customer support to help me connect my amazon remote to my smart TV. It went in circles, but it went something like:
"Hold down the home & right button for ten seconds, check and replace batteries, turn on and off the TV, Hold down the home & right button for ten seconds, repeat..." It went on for three hours until I just ended up throwing away the TV.
I knew I was right when I said that its CEO needs to be removed and replaced with a less greedy person. CZcams seriously has gone nuts these days, everybody know that and they have been discussing about this so, SO MANY TIMES.
And yet the fact that it can still keeping up to this day and nothing really changed for good just disgusts you even more. When can we end this?

Having re-watched the Finland episode: It could be age-restricted because of the sauna-part where you talked about a (Russian) guy dying from the sauna contest and you showed a picture of it. Maybe someone thought it was bad taste or something.
It's not really about it being in bad taste tbh it's just its a picture of a bloke dying which most wouldn't consider child friendly

From other CZcamsrs, I’ve seen that their algorithm falsely marks videos at times. When you’re finally able to get ahold of someone who won’t give automated responses, they’ll fix it. An idea is to look up other vids where people said they went through the same and see how they got it resolved.
I think I found the problem, at 4:13 in the video there is a photo of a polar bear mauling a dead seal. I’m no expert in the policies but I could see them arguing it falling under gore

I recommend also getting your videos on nebula, your type of videos would fit there perfectly, and it might be another source of revenue. I also recommend uploading to other video sites like rumble, odysee etc, at the very least just in case youtube "accidentally" removes or privates a video of yours. This way you can have a back-up of all your content. The rules at youtube are constantly shifting and new rules will be retroactively and inconsistently applied so long as youtube management continues to value big corporate media over the backbone of their site, the creators.
seen a youtuber had a similar issue, it was due to a word the auto CC(subtitles) thought was in there, some kind of a slur that wasn't really said but the algorithm thought it was said and therefore flagged the whole video as inappropriate.
So… I HAD to go back and watch the Finland episode after this. The only content I heard/saw that ‘might’ fall under age appropriateness… but also would be super dumb to restrict because of this content…would be the mention of ‘sometimes naked’ when jumping in the mud and a couple of the shots in the sauna. But… really?? Anyways… YT is being dumb and we all love your videos!

This happens all the time, some part part of you tube's AI algorithm mistakenly flags a part of a video as inappropriate for 18 or below with no human having a look at the video to determine if it accurate. After the you-tuber in question makes a complaint some low ranked youtube employe has a look at the video but can't find what the AI has a problem with. but instead of sending it up the chain to someone that can deal with the situation they deny the request in hopes that the you-tuber will simply give up. if the community makes enough noise someone with authority at youtube will step in and fix it

The scene of restriction in question could possibly be during the intro dream sequence in which you are shown fully submerging yourself into freezing water in two instances. CZcams has age restricted many videos containing that content, and may have done the same with yours. It is possible to reupload the video without those four seconds of footage. I'm not an expert, please do not take my advice as fact. I hope you fair well.
