Thanks for the great instructional video. I bought the new actuator assembly from the local Ford deal ($90). New one was made of all plastic of course. I removed the bad actuator and installed the new one in about 20 minutes. Easy peasy!
Had same problem, 2018 F150-Lariat, and fixed by replacing the same part. The old actuator was 'laboring" and I traced it to contamination getting onto/into the actuator shaft over time. The shaft of the actuator moves in and out and has a rubber sleeve on it, but the sleeve wasn't attached properly at it's one end, and was doing nothing to keep debris out. Interestingly, the replacement part from Ford dealer had the same mis-installed rubber sleeve.
I replaced the actuator and it is still not working. I even put the old one back in and the key fob isnt working now when it was before. Fuses are good. Idk what the heck to do
Great video. Thanks for posting. I guess it's OK to use the orange clip, since the car is only one year old at that point. Thanks for making this. I learned a lot. What city do you work out of?
Part number is HC3Z 9943170 C. Prob donât need it anymore, but im posting it here because it took me 3 hours to find it and thought Iâd be helpful lol
How do you find the part number... Iâve got the same problem on my 2016 F-150 With itâs electronic tailgate! The actuator is so week it wonât release the tailgate! Thanks
Hektor, Have you seen that customer come back with any issues on the new actuator sense you replaced it? Was that a Ford OEM part you used? If not, What brand did you use?
For me unless my car needs huge repairs I'm using warranty but if you want it right away or small fixes then usually it's quicker to get it done at Firestone or Pep Boys I'd pay it all day long to get my car back faster.
Most new vehicles are 3 yr/36 k bumper to bumper warranty and 5 yr /60 k powertrain and yep its whichever comes 1st so yea 63k in 1 year and now it's all on the owner.
@@HomieHektor I got a question, can I install a OEM 2019 Ford 350 step on a same year tailgate that came without step or I'll need to replace the tailgate? Thanks
My shit donât work either but I think I can do it after watching this although I donât know what that one thing you kept saying was and where you get one of those at. đ
