    Usually I agree with Coach Greg, but each and every video about the best exercise for bodybuilding purpose, I have to agree with you.
    Coach Greg answered not the question, he answered which exercises he likes the most. The question was, which is the best for bodybuilding purpose.

    Unless you’re on steroids or have bad form, you cannot hurt yourself benching apart from dropping the bar on your chest. Considering ego lifting to rate an exercise means nothing because that’s not the excercise. If you’re small, that’s the best way to meat on your bones. You will not get big if you are weak and doing machines all day

    @subparpt Před 3 měsíci

    I'm by no means a big guy(5 foot 10, just sub 200 lbs), but have been hitting the gym for 4.5 ish years or so and I have made FAR more hypertrophy progress through methods like Eric discusses over the last year or so of training blocks.
    My chest is definitely my weakest bodypart, and since discovering the RP guys like Dr. Mike, my chest has made ridiculously better progress than it ever did 3-4 years of mostly benching/some accessory work. I still bench, and love to - you should continue to do ANY exercise you enjoy doing regardless if its "the best" - but just providing an anecdote of the larger RoM and bigger stretches being fantastic.

    I hate plain bench press, but really love inclined bench press. With dumbbells I still prefer the incline better. Just a little angle and my shoulders stay more stable and my back gets in a better position, with less need to arch too much. And you have better ROM. But of course its a lot about preferences

  • @D-Rock_in_BKLYN
    @D-Rock_in_BKLYN Před 10 měsíci +1

    0:36 Greg got it right here. If you get hurt, it's because you don't know what you're doing. If you're just starting, you ain't trying to go heavy. If you're a pro, you better not be a dumbbell. If you have a trap bar, you can go from a B+ to an A because you can go lower on the descent and push up further than last time

    I disagree with the ''best exercise for ......'' thingy, why?
    well because a muscle group! like it's revealed in it's name is a group of muscles, so to define an exercise as 'best' for a muscle group is not a precise way to explain what works well.
    I honestly think such videos should be more refined, such as
    ''best exercises for upper chest''
    ''best exercises for lower chest''
    mid chest,
    chest upper outer definition
    chest lower outer definition
    chest upper inner definition
    chest lower iner definition
    etc etc etc.
    You can do this for all muscles, no muscle GROUP is ''singular''.
