    Hi, I am confused about the 1-yr maximum stay balikbayan privilege. What happens if I don't have the PSA-issued birth certificate or an old Philippine passport to show upon arrival to the Philippines? Will the immigration only stamp my US passport for a 30-day stay, or If I overstay for additional 3 days, how much is the penalty? I appreciate it very much if you can clear this up before my family goes home on Christmas. Thank you.

      The law is strict on this. If you have neither document, you are entitled to 30-day tourist visa with 29-day more extension (thereafter extendable every 1 - 2 months for up to 36 months). Meanwhile, you should go to PSA and ask for certified copy of your birth certificate.

      @@jakexake2940 I just came back after a 39-day vacation. Immigration never asked me proof of former filipino citizenship like an old passport or PSA-issued bc. My US passport though, had stamps that have the letters "BB"(balikbayan) handwritten on the date of arrival stamp.

      @@istambaysacali Yes me too. I wasn’t (have never been) asked for my old Philippine Passport. But on the Philippine Consul website it says old Philippine passport or PSA birth cert. are required. Weird

      I have entered the country with my Filipina spouse, with the documentation and was given the balikbayan. Does that mean when I return to the country in the future I will always be balikbayan now? Even if I do not arrive with my asawa next time? Do I go to the balikbayan line at immigration now? Thank you for all the videos!

    Thank you for all the information. How about if I don’t have my philippine passport anymore and don’t have a PSA certificate but I have and old US passport which was previously stamped balikbayan, would that suffice? Thank you so much for your time and assistance. I’m traveling in 4 days.

    Okay lang ba na NSO ang ipasa kong requirements sa prc kahit PSA lang yung hininhingi nila? Balak ko sanang mag file ngayun sa prc kaso nakakatakot baka ma deny an NSO ko🙂

    what if po naka avail nako ng Balikbayan Visa the year before pero 1 month lang po ako dun and the stamp is still valid until july 28, eh may vacation po ulit ako sa july 19 this year. ano po magagawa ko dyan?

    • @jakexake2940
      @jakexake2940 Před 3 měsíci

      Unfortunately, you will have from July 19th to July 28th valid stay under the balikbayan program. After July 28th, you would have overstayed, unless you extend your balikbayan visa.

    Atty., tanung lang po.. how do government benefited from OFW remittances?

    • @jakexake2940
      @jakexake2940 Před 3 měsíci +1

      It provides the government valuable foreign currencies that can be used by the Treasury as reserves. Likewise, the influx of cash from OFW to the locals, stimulates the economy and creates additional revenue for the government due to earned VAT from increased consumer spending.

    Is there anything about the Balikbayan privilege being extended on gay marriage or spouses?

    • @jakexake2940
      @jakexake2940 Před 3 měsíci

      The Philippines does not consider Western same sex marriage. You may avail of the balikbayan visa, but your partner must go thru the tourist visa that is extendable for up to three years.
