Magkano ang travel tax? “The travel tax is a levy imposed by the Philippine government on individuals who are leaving the country irrespective of the place where the air ticket is issued and the form or place of payment, as provided for by Presidential Decree (PD) 1183, as amended.” Pursuant to Section 73 of RA 9593, 50% of the proceeds mula sa travel tax collections ay napupunta sa TIEZA; 40%, sa Commission on Higher Education o CHED for tourism-related educational programs and courses, at 10% naman sa National Commission for Culture and Arts o NCCA. • TIEZA stands for Tourism Infrastructure ang Enterprise Zone Authority. It is Government Owned and Controlled Corporation or GOCC attached to the Department of Tourism. It is responsible for the development, promotion and supervision of tourism projects in the Philippines. Ito rin po ang nagpapatupad sa pangongolekta ng travel tax.
    Requirements for Travel Tax Exemption:
    • For the qualified Balikbayan naman po, you will need a scanned copy of:
    1. All pages of your current passport. You need to combine all scanned pages of the passport in one PDF file.
    2. VISA or Residence Card issued by your country of residence.
    3. Airline ticket used in traveling to the Philippines.
    4. NOTE: In case your last arrival in the Philippines is stamped in an old passport, you will need to scan this page from your old passport and include it in the PDF file.
    • And for foreign spouse or child of a former Filipino citizen, kailangan po ang:
    1. Copy of Foreign passport of former Filipino or other evidence of former Philippine Citizenship.
    2. Latest arrival stamp in the Philippines
    3. Marriage contract of accompanying spouse or Birth certificate or adoption papers of the child.
    TIEZA’s Policy on Travel Tax Refund:
    • Claims for refund must be made within two (2) years from the date of payment.
    • The travel tax refund check is for deposit to the payee’s account only but may be uncrossed upon the request of the payee who shall be properly identified.
    • If the claimant is not the passenger, a Special Power of Attorney shall be submitted for the release of the check.
    • For a minor payee, the parent shall present the minor’s original birth certificate, unless the parent signed the passport on behalf of the minor. If the claimant is not the minor’s parent, he/she shall present the minor’s original birth certificate and submit a Special Power of Attorney executed by the minor’s parents.

    Kung OFW ka at kasama mo sa abroad ang mga dependents mo tulad ng mga anak, dimlang reduced travel tax ang makukuha. Makakakuha ka rin ng exeption para sa kanila. Punta lang ng embassy , hingi ng form, prepare 2 copies each sa passport at visa ng mga anak, at copies narin ng passport at visa ng sponsor na magulang. Libri lang heto mula sa embassy.

    Hi Sir. Thank you for making this content. I'm a Travel Tax Officer assigned at NAIA. I would just like to give an insight regarding Travel Tax Refund.For the information of every one watching, those who paid the travel tax at NAIA can actually apply for travel tax refund within 24 hours from date of their payment if their flight got cancelled or they made double payment. All they need to do is complete the necessary requirements and they can get their payment back. After 24 hours has lapsed they can still refund their travel tax but duration is now much longer usually around 2-3 weeks.

      @@bwasfpv Hi Sir. If your dependents( spouse and children) are going to your jobsite, they are entitled for privilege reduced travel tax. They need to present marriage contract, birth certificate for children, copy of your valid oec, passport and ticket.

      Hi po ask ko lng bout sa balikbayan po, (dependent visa) foreigner po asawa ko, pero an passport ko po is philippine passport pdin po, ksma po ba kmi sa tax exempted? Kc prng Ibang bnsa lng allowed like USA po not middle east... Slamat po sa sagot.

    Pag hindi nakakuha ng refund sa pnas pede ba sa dubai kc nag ask aq sa guard sa twrminal 1 sa terminal 2 daw un malau, ng ask dn aq sa cebu pac. Staff k un ang flight q d nia alam

    Sir pano po kng taga Kuwait kmi asawa ko po foreigner,mey permanent visa kmi dto.. Uuwe po kmi buong pamilya, mgbbksyon lng po.. Hawak ko is phil passport pdin po, then un mga anak ko meron ndin pong phil passport... Asawa ko lng bale an mey foreign passport, exempted po bah kmi sa tax or kht sna sa reduced travel tax... Base kc sa napanood ko dto un exempted na balikbayan eh un mga green card holders pano un mga taga middle east? Thanks po

    ofw po ako at permanent resident ng Qatar along w my son and wife. nagbakasyon kami sa pinas 52 days nagbakasyon ang wife at son ko sa pinas at 19 days naman ako nagbakasyon. nung pabalik na po kami ng qatar pinagbayad pa rin kami ng tax nung guy sa check in counter pinapunta kami sa tieza kahit na sinabi ko na ofw ako at kasama ko family ko sa qatar at meron kaming Qatar residents ID pero ponagbayad p rin kami ng 2430 pesos. bakit po ganun?

    Sir ask ko lang po OFW po ako sa Middle East may OEC ako.
    Mag visit ako sa Malaysia in March next year required po ba ako magbayad ng travel tax since di naman ako nagwowork sa Malaysia visiting lang.

    wala tayong ma papala dyan na refund sa govt ng Pinas, wag ng umasa ..kaibigan ko nga may refund sa BIR noon, naka pag retire at namatay nalang ni kusing walang na tanggap
