Best: played his last game for Man Utd at the age of 27.
Maradona: banned twice for cocaine, 30 months in total.
Thomas Brolin: played last game for Sweden at the age of 25
Gazza: The decision to leave him out of the England squad for France 98 ultimately set him on an already, free fall.
Adriano: Only scored 4 goals after the age of 28 years old.
I’ll come back to this as there’s more I am sure. And I’m not talking about players who retired/faded away through injury… players who ‘could have been more’.
