unexpectedly. she has never acknowledged me in that way, she even tries to avoid using female pronouns. she says they/them (we aren't at the he/him stage yet)

I’m not trans nor do I know anyone personally that is, but I’ve been lurking around here for a while. I have to say I love the way you are understanding of BOTH sides. There are so many people on both sides that get so angry that the other doesn’t see their point or their lifestyle immediately. It’s not that one side is just a bigot. There are other forces at work here and we ALL need to cut down on the anger and demands and try understanding and patience ❤️

Thank you for sharing this. I am a trans guy and I came out to my family in February. It's been frustrating to say the least, but my mom specifically is really coming around. We're really close and I am so grateful for her. The things you are saying correlate SO closely to my coming out experience and the way my mom reacted and has started to change her mind as she sees me become happier.
My dad however is just ignoring it. I've been on testosterone for 7 months now and it's obvious, but him and my step mother dead name me, misgender me, and pretend like I never came out to them. And I have a 10 year old sister over there who I haven't come out to yet. It makes me want to avoid their house at all costs even though I love seeing my baby sister. I don't know what to do about this and I've been stuck for months, so if anyone has any advice I'd be very appreciative!

I have already come out to my mother and this is the best coming out advice i have ever seen. I wish i could have seen it back then because i would have gone about the process differently. I have a hard time articulating myself as well so when my mom would scrutinize me and argue with me, i had a hard time explaining what i was feeling. All of my words were coming from my head and not my heart. I have given up on her and I’m pursuing getting testosterone and fully transitioning without her, but this video gave me hope that maybe some day i can include her in all of this. Thank you for being the way you are. This is the most original, honest, and helpful advice ever. And I’ve watched nearly all “tips on coming out” videos. Again, thank you :).
