Wish I found this earlier. Went through wiring to make sure nothing was frayed, corroded, or just plain rusted off. Replaced sparkplugs and sparkplug wires which needed done, along with a ignition coil which it probably didn't need. Then spent the money on an ecm thinking that was maybe what was going on. After replacing the computer it finally decided to tell me the camshaft sensor was reading bad. May just return the computer afterwards after I replace those parts but we'll see what happens.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank you! I wish this was the first CZcams video I watched cause this was my problem. I've been posting the following on all the other Rough Idle, Misfire, P0300 code videos in case it helps someone else.......:
I post this in case it helps someone.
Had the same problem (MISFIRE P030x). I changed my throttle body, then tried my plugs, then tried my ignition coils, all of it costing me around $300 in parts only to find out that it was my Crankshaft Position Sensor at the transmission. A $20 part! This rough idle, misfire code can be a tricky one!
Try the cheap stuff first my friends.

Nice video. I am getting Po300 in my '07 3.3L Caravan but it sputters and hesitates upon startup. Sometimes takes two or three cranks to get it to stay running, but once it runs it is buttery smooth while driving. Issue is only at startup. Contemplating having a shop do a full diagnostic or start throwing parts at it.

So my brother sent me another cam sensor, which is in the distributor. The connector I got at a junk yard.

I had replaced the spark plugs and coils and the code and misfire would not go away. Why it did not trigger a P030x error, I don't know. Well Well Well that glimpse of the part seems to show that it has an oblong hole indicating that some adjustment is necessary if not mandatory due to a magnetic induction which you have not covered. Proper Alignment is quite often necessary for proper operation especially since the teeth seem to indicate that there is a timing factor (possibly on signal and off signal) and just slightly off can make a difference.

If you take a piece of cardboard, not corrugated but the stuff slightly thicker than paper(around the .020'' thickness you are looking for) and cut out a small circle the size of the end of the sensor. Before installing the sensor glue the little circle to the end with a dab of grease. Install the sensor until it contacts the surface of the sensor ring on the flex plate and tighten it there. As soon as you start the engine the cardboard will wipe off the end of the sensor giving you the perfect air gap. Incorrect adjustment on the old sensor may explain the scratch marks and inevitable failure of it.

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi lancer OZ Rally 2.0. One of the headlights didn't turn on so I replace it ( is HD). Afterthat, when the car is turn on or not running it turns off or the power goes very low. It was scan and showed P0122 and P0300 codes and flow mass code. The TPS was installed this year. Before all this, the car was running a little bit low (maybe after replacing the intake) and now is worse. I went to different places they scan it and say the flow meter is bad and is causing the TPS (which is new ) to show abnormal, others say to replace the spark plugs. Please help me with any recommendation.

@Nathan Rohrbough. Hi Nathan, My son's 2009 Sebring LX Sedan 2.4L is showing the following, w/2 codes twice: P0300, P0456, P2004, P2184, P2181, P0300 & P2004. In that order. So with double P0300 & P2004, is it possible that it's trying to tell us that it's a bad Crank & Cam Sensor & also the P2004 shows up twice. He's told me this car has been a $100 a week ride for the, '' to & from the 1 mile round trip to work & back home..... I just replaced the Plug's, Coil Pack's & with both Thermostat gasket's leaking, that should have taken care of 2 of the codes: P2184 & P2181. Thus leaving the P0300, P0456, P2004, w/2 of them twice... So what, the Crank & Cam Sensor and the Intake Manifold?

Could be so many things from a bad connector to a vacuum leak. This service bulletin should apply to your truck. You would have to pay for the part and repair, although u can do it yourself.
TSB #12-06-01-001B: Service Engine Soon Light On, Rough Running Engine, Cracked or Oil Fouled #1 and/or 7 Spark Plug - (Jun 1, 2012) 2007-2011 GMC Savana, Sierra 1500, Sierra Denali, Yukon, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali, Yukon Denali XL Equipped with Gen IV V8 Engines Built Prior to February 1, 2011 Some customers may comment on a service engine soon light being on and/or rough running engine. Technicians may find DTC P0300 set. Upon further investigation, technicians may find cylinder #1 and #7 spark plugs oil fouled and/or the porcelain may be cracked or broken on the combustion chamber side. This occurs on the driver’s side (left side) of the engine due to PCV pullover that adds additional oil to the cylinders that can foul out or damage the spark plugs. Important: If Corporate Bulletin Number 10-06-01-008C has been previously performed, then a new valve cover may not need to be installed. Please look for the second design baffle with the square hole at the end of the baffle. Install a new left valve cover with the revised baffle to prevent PCV pullover that adds additional oil to the cylinders.

Hello, please help me. I have Nissan Juke 2015. A problem started a few weeks ago. When i start the car it's ok but after 30-40 minutes of driving when car reaches some good temperature, and while I'm standing in heavy traffic or standing on idle sometimes it starts shaking on idle (rough idle), and whole car is also shaking. I went to mechanic and we changed spark plugs, it did not help, then we changed ignition coils, it did not help as well. Now mechanic says that could be a computer problem. When ever i give a bit push on a pedal or turn on the AC it fixes, but when i release pedal and let it be on idle, it starts shaking again (sometimes it even goes away by itself). I also plugged into computer to a diagnostic and it does not show any code until it starts shaking, when shaking it shows this "code P0300 multi cylinder misfire". What is your opinion about this situation and symptoms i told you? Can this be an injector or some sensor/cable problem? Thank you

From what you have said, you will need to go down to Auto Zone and rent a compression tester. Follow the instructions to the letter. Compare your readings to what is listed in your repair manual. Then squirt a little oil into the cylinders one at a time ... as you retest the compression. If the readings are higher with the oil added, then you will need some head work done on your vehicle .

I had an issue on my car where it showed an egr valve pintle position and no one could figure it out until i spent a good day looking at stuff and it turns out the egr was installed completely in the wrong position, this is possible in the linear style egr on the 96 and up vortec engines using a dizzy. Thats why i stopped taking my car to the mechanic and learned obd2 and learned more about it so i can do my own repairs.

too many things it could be. anything from a vacuum leak to a bad injector. best way is to find a really good mechanic that has a scan tool and to positively diagnose the issue and tell you what it is. Too many mechanics will tell you, well there Joe, it could be an O2 sensor or heck Joe, might be the ECM. Then they start replacing parts left and right and most use cheap parts and your truck now is full of cheap aftermarket parts and will break down faster in the near future. if you know someone with a good scanner they can read the parameters and pin point to the problem. hope you found the problem.

It can only get better with brand new plugs almost always. The two things that can go wrong or you got the wires in the wrong direction if it's the distributor type and not coil over plugs or you swapped a dual parallel wires on a 200 for you broke one of the wires pulling it off. The only other outside possibility is that you've got a leaky gasket that's letting water into the cylinder anyway

It seems to be completely random, and now when you start it up
you can tell its running rough.

I'd check all the coils and see if one is shorting out ...firing through the side of the coil through the rubber on to the engine spark plug hole side. Note: If it was not missing before you did all the work then you may have broke something. Check the coils first....if there ok, then I'd look into the crank sensor. Could be just bad, but odds are slim.
