As a licenced mechanic and electro-mechanical engineer tech I say you are an excellent video teacher.
Can you explain the compression test? Did he crank the engine 4 times rapidly? Why did the pressure increase in discrete steps? He seemed to gloss over that 🫤
@@sciteceng2hedz358 He just held it cranking until the reading peaked...the pressure builds, it's not instantly at max.
Why would my mechanic replace spark plug but not my ignition coil. My dodge calibe has a p2311 and now I’m fixing it as I watch him. Money down the damn drain. My light wasn’t flickering til he worked on it it was lit but not flickering
I have to say this man is very thorough. Its so insightful and he explains it in a simple way and doesn't leave out anything. This man gives me confidence to work on my own Vehicle. Thank you for the way you teach.
I appreciate that!
@@CarsNToys I got my honda pilot that been in few shops with the code p0303 and they replaced spark plugs, coils and still have the same issue too check engine vtm-4 and vsa light keeps coming out
What did it end up being?
This is an excellent tutorial! I appreciate the overview style of instruction about the topic. Other instructional videos tend to troubleshoot active problems; this approach is fine if I happen to be fixing the exact same problem. Unfortunately, because my problem is usually slightly different than what’s presented in the video, I have to rely heavily on background knowledge and / or piecing together information from multiple other videos. In this video, he outlines the fundamentals and then briefly explains how to troubleshoot and fix the multitude of possible issues. It’s a well rounded and succinct way to explain a topic. I’m working on a dodge v6 engine while he’s working on a Honda 4 cylinder and it’s still the video I prefer. 😅
Absolutely brilliant. I'd had an old school go. Then I saw your video. I have exactly that engine and a misfire. Pulled the covers off and did all your diagnostics . I swapped coil packs while engine running. The misfire followed the coil pack. So off to get one tomorrow. Many thanks.
Dude, thank you. Your video was ultra helpful in giving me confidence to check all the things. You are well spoken and detailed.
I second that!
Brilliant video even more briliant explaining how everything can be tested made me want to go out and check mine out just for fun. I am sure getting tired of all the shady mechanics and stealerships we have in this world. Guys like this guy explaining everything in the video is proof that people are still nice in the world and want to help you out instead of stealng you blind which is hard to find. Thanks for such an awesome video from start to finish i felt like i was not lied to one bit and also felt like i learned alot and now feel comfortable to try stuff more on my own then to be ripped off by the stealership or a shady mechanic. Once again thank you for all you do.
I agree with others. Your videos are very thorough. I feel like your channel deserves to have over 1 million subscribers. Thank you!
Love your videos. As always explained in a simple clear manner. Thank you.
Absolutely one of the very best instructional videos I have ever seen. THANK YOU for being so thorough, so easy to understand, so easy to follow. I will watch all of your videos now and recommend them to others. THANK YOU!!!!
One of the best videos on testing and very clear on instructions. Good video.
Great video, incredibly informative. Now I know how to do a compression test. Thank you sir.
Just bought a 2004 CRV and it was giving these codes. This video not only helped me fix the problem but gave me the confidence in getting to know my Engine and that the which components were working fine. Beyond helpful!
This is one of the best videos i have ever seen in here. Thank you on showing step by step, it made it easier on what I need to do before I start buying parts I dont need. Some Mechanics will ask you to replace everything without needing to do it. Thank you! :)
Excellent diagnosis and a great help to all who need it on cars. ( GB)
Great video mate. One suggestion for coil/spark plug testing...say code is for Cyl 1, swap coils between 1 and 2 and plugs between 1 and 3, if the fault goes to 2 or 3 you have the answer. If the fault stays on 1 you have ruled out coil and plug in one go.
Isn't that what he said at 2:27 in the video?
@@BruceD42 Not exactly, I added a suggestion to rotate the plug at the same time. Two birds, one stone.
By far, this is the best video on misfire . Thank you .
Very good tips for us amateur mechanics, thank you.

Great video, thank you!
GREAT video. Subscribed. Well done, sir. Thank you.
Thanks you brotha. Very great video
Best tutorial ive seen on here😊
We had these codes pop up for 2000 tacoma v6 shortly after changing sparkplugs after purchasing used. Turns out we had broken the tabs on ignition coils that led to bad connection. Connector plug wasnt sitting right causing misfires. We replaced coilpack and connectors too so might as well. Sparkplug wires is next because one tab is broken too and its held on by zipties. Thanks for breaking it down for us!
This is a great video man..Thanks you very much!!!
Very good and detailed video, thanks a lot
Nice explanation sr...
Thank you again this video was more than been in class learning

Very nice video i do understand everything thanks you very much peace
Thank you for your video it was really informative. In my case I think the boot is detached from the coil pack and stock in my cylinder 4. Do you have any recommended tools or techniques I can use to take it out?
Hi everyone I’m a Honda and Acura technician just wanted to say very great video very good explaining the steps yes I recommend people start educating them selfs about there vehicles yes you can check a fuel injector with a multimeter and please wear safety glasses especially if your gonna deal with the fuel system great video you could definitely be an automotive instructor 👍 thumbs up 👍
thank you very much for your help
Very very helpful
Thats awesome explanation
THANK U VERY FOR TEACHING ME ALOT OF STUFF AND YOUR ENGLISH IS VERY CLEAR FOR ANYONE TO UNDERSTAND .KEEP UP

Great video
thank you very much, very good video on explaining and how to do this.
Glad it helped
Thanks!
Great 👍 Video!
Felt like I was listening to my uncle explain things to me. Great video!
Thank you brother good video May God bless you in Jesus name just like you bless us.
It's very important that you do this on a colder engine. The bolts tend to break if you tighten them while the engine is hot.
Wires too. Have messed up spark plug wires pulling them while hot too
Good video.
Yesss very helpful and detailed! Thank you Thank and Thank you! I'm pretty sure you save a lot of people some stealership money!!!
Nice video thanks for doing this video
Thank you. Hope it helped.
Tht was a great n helpful vid I'm having a problem on my C240 mercedes get codes cylinder 1,2and 3 misfiring and now it's difficult to start the car some times I must crank the car 10 times for it to start and some times it won't even start it end up draining the battery so I'm going to check for power on the wires which goes to the coil packs and will check for resistance on my injectors for cylinder 1,2n3 let's hope will get the answers why it's misfiring on these cylinders I also try disconnecting power supply to coil pack 1,2n3 thinking tht myb I could switch of the car but nothing
Good informative and well do video. I wish he would have checked the powers AND grounds on the fuel injector and coi. Also, how do you check the control wire on those. Thank you
Very good videos congratulating
Thank you. Appreciate the feedback.
I'm sooo glad I sub to you. The link to the compression kit goes to something other than a Craftsman lie the one you show in the video. It's totally different. Is the kit in the link a trustworthy one or should I go with another one? thanks
Thank you having this issue now. My mechanic did my spark plug but didn’t replace my ignition coil which is bs. Now I’m figuring it out and he left a lug nut off my tire I had to buy materials for that too
thanks
Great job on this video explaining all the steps.
Do you need to unhook battery to replace coil pack? thx you
Question if I just got the plugs and the ignition coils replaced and I get the same p303 code?
Hello I have a Misfire Code P0300 P0302 P0303 how do you fix this change starter and coil pack, spark plugs still getting this Codes ...What do you think ?? Great Video I have a 2008 Honda Accord
I have a 2002 Honda Accord 3.0 V6. I came back from a week's vacation and had a P300, P301, P304, P1399, and a battery light plus the door and trunk reference lights were all on. I was very confused. I started checking all my coil packs but then noticed that my A.C. wasn't working either. Turned out it was all just from my accessory belt being off??? What do you think? Is it possible that the disconnect from the alternator caused all those codes? I checked all my packs and they were fine. Spark plugs changed less than 3,000 miles ago.
hi..is there an icm video with its corresponding failure and fix?
Quick question after you replace the coil pack and you rescan the car will the code go away or do I need to reset something?
Great video but could you start with the year make of the car and also show the symptoms please
Just a couple comments, for one in my many years experience most vehicles have the relays and fuses for the engine in the engine compartment. Normally the fuse box for the cabin electrics like the lights, windows, door locks, dash, HVAC, entertainment, etc, is in the cabin. Two while doing an OHMs test can tell you if an injector has either a complete open or shorted circuit on the primary windings inside, it will not test if the pintal is moving or if there is a partial break that is causing the injector to not generate a good magnetic field to move the pintal. An injector being mechanically stuck is more common then an electronic fault, which your resistance test with a multimeter will not show. Also you dis not mention the fact of the signal wires or testing the ground connection on either one of those circuits, which could also have a fault. I know what dealers say to test, but true diagnostic technicians know those are often poor testing methods the dealer has in their flow charts. Also you did not do a voltage drop test on either one of those circuits when testing your power feed, which is a superior test to testing for resistance which a wire that is almost completely cut will show up as ok when testing resistance. If you are going to show stuff like this, please show good testing methods instead of the bs that has been standard in the automotive community for too long.
Where did you buy your compressor at ? The link from amazon is showing some cheap one?😊
I replaced the valve timing solenoid in my 2001 toyota avalon and it runs much better. No misfiring and idles at 800 rpm. Check engine light and VCS lights are back on. Any suggestions??😊
