Eventuri RS3 8V testing MSS Height Adjustable Springs

- From the factory the RS3 sits a little high, stealing some of its mean looks. It rode pretty well all things considered but we were eager to test a height adjustable spring solution from MSS that claims to not only allow you to have adjustable lowering on stock dampers, but also improve ride quality even when lowered!
We tried a new method of conveying ride quality in this video, and we'd love to hear what you thought about it in the comments below.

Excellent job showing and telling the differences between the two setups. I also GREATLY APPLAUD seeing the car at a nice stock height as proof it can actually be done. I don't want to lower mine but I do want to change up the spring rates and maximize what the lovely magnetic ride can actually do on a daily driver.
Thank you again, lovely demonstration. 👌
Nice test! I enjoy watching your videos a lot. I like the new method, although I was waiting to see some sort of on screen comparison of the numbers, but taking that away, I think it's a great idea. Keep posting. Love that car, it just looks and sounds so beautiful!
Saw an RS3 on the rd the other day with lowered springs, exact same wheels as this one and did it look good. It makes me appreciate what you guys and the people who create these aftermarket parts do for the car community
Thank you guys for such a detailed video and cool mod on the RS3!
I saw this lovely car yesterday and I'm really impressed with how the project is going. These lowering spring are a real step up. Looking forward to more updates on this nice piece of kit.
Thanks Roberto.
I was jamming throughout the second test
Great track 😎🎶
Great video! I just fit the street MSS springs on my 2012 TTRS. Stoked for them to settle in!
How is the ride for now ? So you bought the street ones instead of track one right?
Another awesome video Imran ! Chapeau !
Thank you Federico! 💛
This test was pretty cool, definitely something to use for future builds to gain data on performance areas that are difficult to track.
Great content.... glad I got here through TR Hamza’s video
Always thinking outside the box. 👍
Thanks for the review Imran, pleased to be part of this RS3 project and look forward to the BMW platform projects.
Great product deserves great coverage ✌️
Hi William for mag ride cars, are the springs suitable?
@@majinsbo Absolutely. We developed for Magneride and that is our expertise.
@@MSSKITS Hi. Saw this video & I'm interested in some springs for my 2015 RS3. I'm in Manchester. Any dealers nearby or do I buy direct from you? Thank you.
Very Interesting, a great affordable suspension upgrade! Might have to get some on the Comp...
I know a guy...
Just found out about this. Hell of a lot cheaper than going AST cpilovers on the M2
Would be good to see the in cabin, on-road footage with and without the mss side by side, perhaps with a slight lag so you can see each setups response to the same bumps in the road
Nice review!!! Would you guys mind sharing the ride height made to this car with the MSSKits ?
Would be awesome if you could stick some H&R or 034 motorsports or eibach springs and run the same test. That way we can see if springs that are quarter the price provide similar results. 034 springs on my friends TTRS are amazing and feel as comfortable as stock yet the handling is transformed. They cost $310 as opposed to over a £1000 for these MSS ones. Not saying the MSS are not good, but are they better? And if so are they 4 times the cost better? I'd just buy some coilovers for that type of money.
I like this idea!
@@TheKlein5854 essential they're the Eibach springs with the adjusters
very interesting test, was just wondering, when you put this MSS Suspension on the car, how long did you make it?
Do you do intakes for e92 335d
Is there a need to have the mag ride recalibrated after installation of these? I’m in the US, does that make a difference?
Great vid and test, can I ask - did this car have any spacers fitted? Or just the MSS lowering kit only?
Just the MSS kit.
Is this rs3 running the mag ride dampers? Mine is mag ride and fitting the mss springs this week. I hope it works well with mag ride as kw height adjustable did not.
Quality video
Cheers
How long was the installation of these springs (excluding height adjustment) ?
How long was total installation (including height adjustment)..?
Thank you for your feed back.
Awesome insight into what should hopefully be a successful product with proven performance.
Just wondering if you could have added a before and after in terms of how it sits unless I missed it
We didn’t do a before and after no as this was more performance than aesthetics for us, but before it was a fully stock RS3.
Sorry if I missed it but which kit did you get? Street or Track? Same or different front and rear?
Solid review 👊🏻 I think your idea to use that app for this measurement is a great one. Maybe you should make your own Evolve / Eventuri app to add to the empire 🤣. I believe I have seen all your videos and I saw the one where you took the F80 out recently on this brand of springs. Were you able to use this app at that time (before n after) and / or have I missed this. Spot on content as always 👊🏻🤘🏻👊🏻🤘🏻
Haven't video the MSS set up on the M3 yet as it's not officially out yet. 👍
Evolve Automotive thanks for the reply Imran. Looking forward to a future video / review on those in the future 🤘🏻
Nice video, I'm gonna do same for my s3 8v... peace... 🤟💀
I never noticed the non pleated seats in your rs before. Huh. Anyway, thx for doing some data logging. Great idea. Also, no issues with mag ride with this lowered?
Works very well with the mag ride. It was designed to compliment it
Think I’ll get these for my RS3 Sportsback 👍
Hi. Did you get them? My 2015 RS3 feels a bit wallowy. Would love the KW coilovers but 4k, honestly? So if you got them, what are they like? Cheers.
@@romanmondryk5985 not yet I’m afraid.
Was the at the lowest setting?
Does the car feel more connected to the road? I've always found that turn in was good, but mid corner and corner exit, it feels really vague and floaty. Is there less body roll?
Yes feels more connected to the road and there is less body roll.
1:45 who is that in the background?
o shi-
Julian Assange :D
I am here for RS3.
The lowering doesn't appear significant though. How much was it lowered?
The amount MSS recommends for optimal handling. It can still go 15-20mm lower from memory,
Interesting to note they're Eibach springs. Would be good to see a comparison between the eibach Pro kit and these.
They are manufactured by Eibach to MSS specification. As one of the leading spring manufacturers in the world it was the obvious choice for MSS to go with. Eibach do not create a comparable product.
@@EvolveAutomotive I get its totally different, would just be good to see the difference between MSS and a standard aftermarket spring. Also what height was the MSS kit set to, arch gap looks spot on.
WIll this fit to an Audi S3 FL 2018?
Yes there is a kit for that
For this particular kit, how does the single front spring enhance the ride (as opposed to the rear with multiple spring rates working together)?
Its the rear that actually provides the most difference but the front is also softer than stock providing more comfort.
@@EvolveAutomotive Thanks. I was wondering whether perhaps it was a progressive spring on the front.
@@AmjadJDM No its a linear spring.
Is the ride firmer or softer after the install?
I have heard horror stories of this kit , noises and also too firm for rough roads?
The ride is softer. Honestly in our experience there appears to be no downside. Must admit I haven’t heard any complaints from any customers who have had the kit installed either.
Will it still understeer as bad as it use too., as they usually do in stock format.
The MSS helps massively with that problem.
Use some colored liquid (or Tofu if you guys are into Initial D) secured to the front of the car and measure volumetric loss before and after suspension mods :)
Initail D version sounds good to us
Can you guys please assist me with what height you guys have the adjusters set to for front and rear I have a Audi rs3 8v2 running the same MSS sport kit and I can’t seem to find the perfect ride height for South Africa’s terrible roads
We set the height to what MSS recommended to us, it’s been a while I’m not sure our techs would remember exactly.
Okay fair enough I’ve done lifted mine from all the way down to 15mm upwards on the adjusters front and rear I’m going to go 20mm front and 25mm rear to see if that makes a difference
MSS are usually pretty responsive so try asking them.
Im always afraid to put different springs on my car, because it always never seems to ride as good. But these seem to be solid. However, looking at how you ride in the after still seems to be fairly bouncy compared to stock.....
As the app showed the ride quality had improved, definitely felt less bouncy.
Totally agree, most don't want to mess with the MAG ride since it could screw things up. H&R's were bouncy on my rs3. These look good at higher speeds but still looked bouncy at slower speeds unless I'm mistaken.
Love ur work my Muslim brother
Very interested for my BMW 4 series gran coupe xdrive
That product is launching in the next few weeks 👌
What's the tyre size in the video?
Does the car have magnetic ride? And if It does not, will these springs make make the car ride as smooth as an rs3 with magnetic ride ? Thanks
Yes the car does have magnetic ride.
@@EvolveAutomotive Did you guys happen to recalibrate the mag ride with ODIS afterwards?
@@EvolveAutomotive following, did it need re calibration?
Mag ride calibration yes no?
@@EvolveAutomotive Was any type of wheel realignment or magnetic ride recalibration required after install of this system..?
Magnetic Ride?
My question also...since I have a mag ride car
Track or sport?
Sport
That Dump though...
Is this a MSS and Eibach collab?
Not a collab. Eibach produce the springs for MSS to MSS specifications. All design and development done by MSS
@@EvolveAutomotive Mahalo
How will these work with factory magride?
This car has magneride. Works perfectly well with it.
@@EvolveAutomotive I've read that adding springs to magride requires recalibration of the magride in order to establish the new height and load. Did you bother with this?
Thanks for the reply Imraan
@@gtrsfk9001 wondering the same..!?
I simply dont like that it has so many components/parts. Not so good for reliability. I prefer something more hi tech and simple at the same time.
Hi tech but simple. You make no sense. How much simpler do you want it to be? Have you seen what's involved with s coilover?! Do you not like engines too as they have a lot of moving parts and complexity
