The funny thing about Velveeta is that, although it was invented in New York, it was created by a Swiss man for a company that specialized in the Fine Cheeses of Germany France, and Switzerland. BTW, it's just made by reincorporating the whey back into the curds, calling it a cheese byproduct makes it sound worse than it is.
