I tried carnivore - felt great, but I was missing fun in food
Switched back to sweets - found fun in food, but I felt like shit afterwards.
Conclusion is straightforward: go carnivore and find fun somewhere else!

Diagnosed with IBS, nothing I could do fixed it. I never liked vegetables but forced myself to make them the mainstay of my diet, was a vegetarian for 10 years. Never improved and I decided I just needed to live with it.
Then tried carnivore January 2024. Planned on only doing 30 days. I felt so good I stayed on it 90 days. All my IBS sx gone. Tried vegetables again and sx came back. So I’m back on carnivore. Have added dairy and yes a bit of onion in my burgers and organic ketchup so I’m not 100% carnivore but I feel great.

I never tried egg whites only. It just doesn't seem right without the yolk. I've never tried vegetarian, vegan or even lo-cal. I've never really dieted as such. I did consider some of the fad diets but it was too much trouble. I've never been obese so I guess I wasn't motivated enough. I've never been a huge fan of vegetables anyway. I like my meat. I started Carnivore at the end of last year. I realised I was eating vegetables because I heard they were good for me. I don't think I've ever eaten huge amounts of vegetables. Sometimes I felt I wasn't eating enough "healthy" food because of the lack of vegetables. Then I discovered Carnivore and I don't have to worry so much anymore because I find most vegetables blah (except for chips which I wouldn't count as a healthy vegetable anyway as it's more "junk").

Was pre-diabetic with an A1C of 5.8 and had a fatty liver on the verge of being NAFLD (Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease). This diagnosis really scared me and was my motivation for cutting out most carbs over a period of 3 months and ultimately going full carnivore. My A1C now is 5.2, have lost all my visceral fat, body weight dropped from 226lb to 176lb and waist size has dropped from 41” to 30” on a 6’1” body frame. I was a strict Dr. Esselstyn vegan for over two years...At first my health improved, probably because I got rid of junk food, all oils, and ate far less…then it reversed in a dramatic way. My hair thinned, my skin got dry, I had no energy, I became depressed, weak, and food cravings started to go out of control, and more. Then the A-fib started. Now four ablations, and three cardio versions later. After the first of the year I started a near zero carb and meat diet eating mostly ruminant animals, eggs, and some fish. And now my A-fib has calmed done to sinus rhythm, my blood pressure is normal, no more depression, no more dry skin, my hair is growing back, no more cravings, and my gut works great! One of my questions is, has anyone seen any studies evaluating an individual's intestinal tract length comparing it to whether he/she prospered on a vegan or carnivore diet? Given that meat rots and vegetables ferment, it seems there should be a correlation with a short gut/long gut. Of course it would have to be a years-long study, with individuals at the extremes of the bowel length and the dietary preferences to yield meaningful results.

I had terrible perimenopausal symptoms. It was hell. I did not want to feel that way for years - it would have ended my marriage to a man I adore. Cutting out grains and most plant foods, and increasing the amount of saturated fat I eat has me back to normal. The mental aspect was the worst (although unpredictable, incredibly painful periods were pretty bad too) because I knew I was being utterly unreasonable, but I couldn't help feeling the way I did, even though I knew I shouldn't.
I have noticed a huge difference in my 16 year old daughter too as she has increased her meat intake alongside me and wants meat at every meal. She is a lot more balanced hormonally and mentally as well.
Too many people are finding true healing and health by eating the way humans should eat. We don't digest cellulose so we should NOT be eating huge amounts of plant foods. We are not herbivores who have specialised organs for fermenting cellulose to convert into fat. Any mammal that cannot digest cellulose must eat meat to be healthy. This is a biological fact that humans are not exempt from.

Eating plenty of fiber rich lower glycemic carbs, with little to zero oil aside from whole nuts or seeds. The less fat, but especially saturated fat, the lower insulin needed for the same quantity of carbohydrate. Wanted to avoid all things CAFO but didn't even consider supplementation of vitamin B12, DHA, etc. (I also had a weakness for cute hippie girls which reinforced my nutrient poor eating habits.) As an athlete I lost muscle, lost tooth enamel, became anemic, decimated my hairline, and developed chronic low back pain & severe insomnia.

The fixation with plants in American culture and guidelines is crazy, esp the vegans and vegetarians. We never had access to plants the way we do now - advanced monocroping technology (machinary and robots), synthetic fertelizers and pesticides, hybridizing, selective breeding, GMO and DNA analysis, modern distribution and transportation by air, land, sea. The idea that only eating plants or mostly eating plants is superior or safe is just ridiculous to me. For millions and millions years that defined our evolution this was never the way. Meat is what defined our evolution. Factory farming is bad but so is the insane industry to bring us an endless supply of plant foods, especially in regions that require tons of transportation. In the 1800s and 1700s and so on plants were an accent to a meat based diet. Plants added flavors to a meat stew and things like that. The plants of our ancestors were nothing like the plants of today that are engineered, monocroped, hybridized and selectively bred for sweetness or size. The plants of our ancestors also grew in soil that was unlike anything today. Local regenerative farming is the way - plants and animals together. We should do away with insane monocroping of corn and grains just like we should abolish horrible factory animal farming. It should be the consumer dictating these trends.

I have traveled several times overseas, and it’s very hard to eat those ways in most places, especially India, where the cow is sacred. I have to eat what the locals eat. And in my opinion better mood and mental health is the best motivation to stick to this way of eating. Weight loss/leanness is simply a nice by product.

I think you're doing your best to give a balanced view on how to eat healthily and live as well as we can. Take care, And thanks for the research.

Good vid ! I was organic vegetarian for over 10 years and it dam near ruined my health! Low fat vegetarian because that's what was being pushed ! Never again ! Leads to muscle wasting, brain malnutrition "dementia", bone mass loss, hormone disruption. So I switched to a animal foods based diet and after 3 months I started feeling better and getting my strength back and now after 4 years on animal based diet I'm feeling fantastic, look much better, face skin way better, don't get sick anymore and building muscle back ! So don't preach to me about the crappy veganism diets, I did it and it sucks for long term health.

The only thing i realized from all these diets, is that everybody reacts differently and what works for one won't for another you just need to give it a gon for few months and see how it works for you.

Absolutely not it depends on Wich nervous system is dominant what make one healthy make the other sick, this is why you will find succes and worsening story in the vegan and carnivore group..

Pure carnivore is the ultimate elimination and nutrient rich diet, but many of us low carb carnivores add in fermented foods (chocolate, cheese, sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, ACV, ...) and vegs and fruit to supply polyphenols, fiber to fuel the microbiome. This can be a trick that depends on gut health. See Gundry's books: Unlocking the Keto Code, Gut Check.

I eliminated all processed foods. Vegans relay a lot on processed foods. Once I went to an old school farmer diet all my blood work improved. Once I began walking 10,000 steps a day it got even better. Once I began taking mineral supplements it got even better. Now I don't have joint pain and sleep through the night.

First thing I noticed when I went on carnivore diet - I stopped waking up in the morning and immediately farting enough to drive Pembroke B power plant for a week! After that energy levels went right up and bathroom trips reduced to between one and two times a day. Now after several months on carnivore, I know pretty quick if I have a inadvertently eaten too many carbs (usually in the form of a few teaspoons of protein yogurt), because the morning and bathroom routines start to regress.

I am on carnivore diet and it is the best diet I ever tried. I counted how many benefits I got from this and it was total of 18! 18 benefits from just changing diet! 😊 The most important thing is that I just feel so comfortable and healthy.

Thank you for your videos. I enjoy them very much. The plant based diets are not as good as carnivore. Many vegans and plant based advocates pull studies and statistics out of the air. There is plenty of recent studies showing the validation for carnivore and Keto lifestyles. Besides i feel that many carnivore testimonies include happy people wearas a lot of vegan and plant based reviewers can be very judgemental and not show any respect for carnivore and keto people. They just get very arrogant and judgemental. I still try to watch there videos to try to understand their viewpoints. I just have much more in common with contented carnivores and also have seen a number of reviews of vegans who tried carnivore and now choose this. Msny comments are as a vegan i always was hungry and now on an animal fat and protein diet feel much better. What is amazing is that with fats and protein it triggers the satiety homone and then you don't have to eat until you get hungry again.

I agree with you. I swing between total carbs of under 5g-55g. I was mostly vegetarian for 40 years and plant based for 3. All I got was sicker. IBS out of control, had my gallbladder removed, I was excreting kidney stones left and right, and I was 140 pounds overweight. Going lower carb with no grains, high fat, and meat heavy has really helped over 30 years of IBS, high blood pressure, acne, down 50 pounds, healing my thyroid disease, CAC of 0, and a lifetime of anemia, as well as improving my heart murmur. People can argue if they want, but I'm only tweeking my diet and adding exercise at this point. Eat how you want, but allow me the same grace.

Eating additional fat - especially butter - can be incredibly healing to those with hormonal issues. It's a game changer for women in particular. It's also important in the early days of keto/carnivore to eat sufficient fat, in order to avoid constipation, and that can mean very different amounts to different people. Perhaps you should have a chat with Dr Elizabeth Bright? She's very interesting to listen to.😊
