    Very nice in depth video but I notice one big glaring issue one being the amount of sets you would only touch if you can get a massive discount which isn’t realistic as most will never get it at 50 percent off. Also if these sets aren’t selling well now what makes us think that they will sell well in retirement.As I have stated many times times global economy and turmoil are key factors and inflation is ripping peoples financial situation into pieces and as always these are disposal income luxury items. Side gig only and be prepared for long hold times . If you can live with those two key factors then most will be ok

    Not sure I can agree with the older R2D2, mainly for 3 reasons. For one its much larger and detailed, which if youre buying something with that price youd want the detail there. The new one looks good but its obviously dumb down a bit, still good for the price though. Secondly I dont think the new one is going to be around for long, especially with that anniversary minifig in the box that no doubt most people will be selling seperately once its out of production, drastically reducing the new sets value over time. Lastly the older one is a 50th anniversary Star Wars set that will jump its value up over the long run. This may be a set that slowly increases its value over the next couple of years but definitely will jump up within the next 3-4 years

    I got a discount on several sets last year and at the time thought it was great but now look really negatively on sales. It suppresses the value of the product. Even if you picked up a large quantity of a set on sale there are thousands of more that others are buying which negates any lift. It’s why good sets like the scythe have to struggle just to get back to msrp instead of getting a retirement bump.
    Sales flood the market and suppress value.
    This isn’t an investment list based on the value of the set or what’s sought after but a list of what’s cheapest regardless of whether or not it’s a junk set.
    The mech that no one wants is the 3rd highest? Yeah I guess if your goal is to turn $1 into $1.10 a hundred times over. I’m trying to identify highest regarded sets based on quality and collector interest.

    • @TheBrickDynasty
      @TheBrickDynasty  Před 2 měsíci

      May I ask what sets they were? As I touched on in the Tenno Jedi Temple section and others throughout the video, if a set is significantly discounted for a large amount of people, then the price appreciation of that set will be slow.
      When I buy for investing, I always aim to get sets at the best discount possible. If a set is commonly 30% off, then I’d need an even larger discount to buy. When you stack up discounts to get sets at a better price than most of your competition, that’s when you’ll see good returns in retirement.
      This list is my ranking of how well I think these sets will do in retirement based off the present data we have.
      In my opinion, I made a convincing argument for why the Stormtrooper Mech will have significant demand in retirement. What makes you think no one wants it?

    • @user-dc9np8zk9h
      @user-dc9np8zk9h Před 2 měsíci

      @@TheBrickDynasty are you investing though? It seems more like you are mastering the quick flip because you are so focused on margins and hunting for triple discounts. No judgement either way. Your list is great for quick flipping and taking a tiny margin of profit and reinvesting it quickly than selling it again. It’s a proven method just not what I was looking for. I am curious if you are a fan at all of Lego Star Wars or are interested in the profit cycles.
      My thinking is kind of like this… I think the scythe is a phenomenal set and a deal at $100. Thus, 5 years + after retirement I would think it would be maybe $250 or more. Based on quality and design. I like getting it for a few dollars off but would much prefer no sale ever because that helps protect the value. What I’m interested to know is that if other collectors who love Star Wars also highly value the same set based on quality and can I project popularity based on fan interest- valuing the investment on the set merit not strictly on the numbers.
      The mech is a great example. You see a likely profit margin whearas I see a set I don’t even want to own . And I get a sense from other videos that mechs don’t have a lot of enthusiasm.

There are quite some people that quit or partly quit their job to do LEGO on a part time or full time basis so for them its just the paycheck and they do not always have the luxury to only buy what they like. Its the same for every other collectable, whether they are Air Jordan sneakers, or GPU / PS5 / certain crypto hardware we saw past years especially during COVID. There is no investment when people like you hoard mass produced sets. Then the market is only what someone pays. Sets now are mass and easily obtained except when a few buy them all then hope for someone to be desperate. 👎makes it a challenge for less fortunate folks to get them. Down vote. 👎

      Unless has been the case with other collectable articles past years with LEGO usually everyone has a fair chance to obtain the sets they want. Its not like investors have options to get to sets earlier than you do. If you want something, just make sure to track the article and snatch it when its on sale. You can't blame investors for doing so and then reselling at a later date for profit just because they were handling it better and quicker than you.
