What a massive amount of info watching this early in the morning. Fortunately there is an entire day to process this. :-) Happy New Year!
Definitely a dense video haha. Happy New Year!
It may have been faster for you to list the sets that aren’t retiring this year😁 Thanks for the info!
For real haha, no problem!
Is 30662, Maple’s Pumpkin Garden, available somewhere? I couldn’t find a listing on any of my sources.
@@MikeMoyer-ts8zj looks like it’s not getting released until March!
Tiny set but short shelf life. An opportunity at the right price, for sure. Thanks for the response!
Thx for the video Brian - keep us posted as things change!
Of course! I plan on making monthly update videos if there are large changes 👍
There is no way Lego is retiring their Spider-Man art set....it's barely been on the shelves for 6 months. And you can't tell me it's controversial or NOT a moneymaker.
Dangit, I think I was baited.
Hi, this video is not clickbait. My source for this list, as mentioned at the end of the video, is the Brick Tap retirement list that is posted on the Legoleak subreddit. This list is scraped directly from LEGO’s website and updated monthly. I made a video a few months back auditing the Brick Fanatics, Brickset, and Brick Tap lists; this list was 100% accurate by October. As I also mentioned, this list is not final, LEGO does change retirement dates throughout the year. So the Spider-Man art set could be extended, but for now it is projected to retire.
The Dreamzzz sets must not be doing well if they are already pulling those. They put a ton of money into that series just to pull everything that's currently out... I bet this next wave of sets coming in August is the second to last wave, then, bye bye Dreamzzz theme.
What a year! My gut feeling tells me that the retirement date for Darth Vader bust, Ninjago Garden, MC Deep Dark Battle, MC Sword Outpost, UCS Hogwarts Express are going to be pushed back. I Hope I'm wrong.😆
Yeah, anything could be moved around at this point in the year, we’ll have to wait and see!
Do the Jurassic world sets retire in July or August?
Shock gunship and everything after yavin would have very low shelf life
Yeah, will be interesting to see what sets get added or drop off throughout the year!
The Ghost, Gunship, and Yavin (as well as some other Star Wars sets) will likely get pushed back one year to hit a two year minimum. This list will change a lot up through the summer but its very unlikely that at the very least these large long requested Star Wars sets are only on shelves for one year.
Can you type what your source was. I can't hear it well when you mentioned it. I have been referring to brick Fanatics.
Sure thing! It’s the Brick Tap retirement list, it’s posted on the Legoleak subreddit every month
Great job with this video. It must have taken you a long time to gather this with all the pictures.
Thanks! It took so much longer than I expected, especially the editing 😂
I miss some anniversary sets from Disney and Jurassic Park. do you think they will stay for another year?
Potentially! This list will change throughout the year, I’d check on it each month to see what was added or taken off
do you have a source?
23:43 yes! It’s the Brick Tap retirement list that is posted monthly on the Legoleak subreddit
Do you perhaps know when the daily bugle set is going to retire?
According to the Brick Tap retirement list, it’s currently projected to retire in 2025
2 Lego exclusive sets that in the fall were being projected by Brickfanatics to retire at the end of 24, were Santa's Sleigh, & the 50th Ann. Disney Mini Castle, did you overlook these by chance ? I really hope they retire, & haven't been extended, as every time these 2 sets are backordered, or temp out of stock, they move fast at a small profit on Ebay, even after all Ebay, & shipping expenses are subtracted, so I'm hopeful you overlooked them. The Christmas Tree obviously sells better than the recently retired Wreath, but it doesn't move at the rate the Santa's Sleigh does, but that would mean the sleigh would be available for 5 years, not sure it's demand, & exclusivity, would still make it a home run, more like a double, or triple, if it goes beyond next year. With the Mini Castle, it is odd, that Disney even allows a 50th Ann set to still be sold, so long after the actual anniversary year. Disney made the stores on their properties quit selling all 50th Ann Tshirts, hats, ect in the spring of 23, about a month before the 100th Ann merch released, so I'm wondering why they would let Lego continue selling the Mini Castle, without any kind of a box redesign, from Lego's part?
Unfortunately they weren’t on the Brick Tap list, but the retirement list will change throughout the year so they couldn’t be added later! They’re very popular sets, LEGO may want to continue keeping them around 🤷 I’m not sure about the packaging for the mini castle, must not have been a stipulation in LEGO’s agreement with Disney.
Do you know if home alone is retiring this year?
According to the Brick Tap retirement list, it’s currently slated to retired 12/31/2025. This could change in the future, so I’d keep an eye out for future updates.
I am not certain what your resources are to determine that Lego will be getting rid of these sets this year, Half of these sets just came out in December and according to Lego they are going to be on the shelves throughout next year of 2025 even if they don't sell that well. The Cisty Space sets just came out and are a big hit so why woudl Lego retire then in less than a year?
I reference my source here 23:43 and mention that the list will change as the year goes on. The Brick Tap list is scraped directly from LEGO’s website. Where did LEGO say all recent releases would be on shelves till the end of 2025? I have no clue what all the factors are that go into LEGO’s decision process to retire sets. I’m just the messenger :)
Umm just curious how city set 60417 is being retired in 2024 when it is being released in 2024.
There are quite a few sets on this list that were just released on the 1st of this year. I’m sure some will get extended at some point this year, but there are always a good number of sets that do retire with only a 1 year shelf life.
Being that 2 sets just came out in 2023 I don't see them being retired in 2024.
Since it’s early in the year, the retirement list will have changes each month. In the second half of the year, it should be pretty much unchanged each month.
That said, LEGO retires most sets within that 2 year shelf-life timeframe
I thought I had read that the UCS Millenium Falcon and Venator were retiring at the end of this year as well? Was that fake news?
I believe the UCS Falcon may have been on the Brick Fanatics list in the past as projected to retire in 2024, but it isn’t listed there anymore. It’s also not on the Brick Tap list that I referenced in this video. The list will change throughout the year, I’d keep an eye out each month incase it gets added.
Many short live SKU's.. Lezz get m
Ikr, many that just released yesterday!
That would mean (easy math), that in 2 years,Lego would have retired about 792 sets!?
According to Brickset, LEGO retired 446 sets in 2023 and 405 in 2022. Would not be out of the ordinary!
Wow already ! U good dog u good
Gotta let em know 🫡
Dude why are all the dream sets getting retired!? We just got them!!??
Seems like they might not be super popular 🤷
@@TheBrickDynasty noooooooo. They are just soo cool! The new pieces they introduce are so good
@@Ziilus this video is not fake, the list comes from the Brick Tap retirement list that is very reputable. Since you bring up the Avatar sets, there were 4 that retired this year. 75577 and 75578 that had a 1 year shelf life & 75573 and 75571 that had a 1 year and 3 month shelf life.
@@Ziilus It is obvious that you don't follow Lego news or retirements. This list is not fake. Most sets on this list will retire but it won't be completely finalized until summer. This list is updated every month and the info comes directly from Lego's internal data about dates. Each month there are usually a couple removals and maybe some additions up until the summer when it starts to finalize completely but the vast majority of it will not change. A couple popular (or newer sets with default dates) will be pushed back but that's about it. Does that include some Avatar and Minecraft sets? Maybe but not necessarily as their ages at that time will be on the short side of normal but still normal. And even if they don't retire, that doesn't make the list fake. This is Lego's plans as of January and things can change. This list has been pretty much 100% accurate by the end of the summer for several years and only really even with the removals, only like 10% or less will change before then from the January list. Its just that things are still in flux somewhat in January. As Lego updates dates and finalizes things, this will be updated.
Goddamn, this video seems to have really irritated people who can't be bothered to look up anything on their own but have the audacity to call you a liar, insult you, and claim you're wrong or doing clickbait. It would have taken them five minutes to find out this information is legitimate and how it works but instead they just started screeching and complaining. I just don't get it. Where did they come from and why are they like this? This list is accurate as of January guys and the vast majority of these sets (minus a few changes each month), will retire.
For real haha, I was shocked at how wrongly opinionated people were about something that is common knowledge. Appreciate your positivity in the comment section!
I subscribed on the video to counter the trolls that called the video clickbait. Twas a good try trolls.
Appreciate it!
not even LEGO knows which sets are retiring, how can you know
Well usually every set has a shelf life of 2 or 3 years maximum
It’s the world of Lego rumors and clickbait titles. I don’t resell Lego, but this video at least gets me thinking of what I might need to pick up before the end of the year.
The other videos basically help me figure out how quickly I need to act on sales since the resellers are probably gonna hoard up certain sets.
If you pay close attention, he said these are the sets ‘projected to retire’. Meaning that these lists will likely change some throughout the year, but they help folks prioritize which sets they’d like to purchase. And, I have to disagree, LEGO does have a very good pulse on what sets they plan to retire year to year. The retirement of sets is something that, I believe, is done with a lot of forthought.
@@stevenpetersen8530 It's a clickbait title, didn't watch the video
