I love Odyssey. Now I can agree with it not being a good AC game but I love the map, culture and mythical elements.

i loved the ezio trilogy and after that the only assassin's creed game i had a lot of fun with was actually syndicate. i really liked that they finally added a stealth crouch, something that felt long overdue in a series like this, and i found the zip lining pretty fun.
I played ac since the first one came out and this guy in the clip isn’t wrong when Connor came out it was exciting until you played his game it felt like a step back (I can’t remember why now because the last time I completed the story was the year it came out for the time it just wasn’t it especially that he’s following after Ezio
I think if they invested in giving Connor a trilogy I feel as though maybe he’d of been considered way better than he is now but around that time ac was like cod a game a year they kept pumping them out and you can’t create an amazing story multiple times in a year first ac 3 then black flag and so on every year is an ac game after 3 and the franchise lost steam especially having Unity come out to a buggy release
Ezios games are considered top because if you think about it those games were given time to breath between releases
Lastly connors setting (colonial America) was boring to me I tried so much to get into it (even after platinuming it) I just didn’t find the setting to be interesting I like Connor as a character but I feel like he need more to be done with his character to truly make him stand out

I think odyssey is underrated it’s not very “assassins creed like” but it is a very good game in general
I honestly think AC1 is underrated. The general vibe to everything is darker and more mysterious. The setting is compelling and a time period that rarely gets talked about (the crusades). No other game could portray the same feeling. Still loved the Ezio trilogy though.

My favorite is either Brotherhood or Origins. Brotherhood's story was good, the setting was nice as in having one big city since i didn't like fast traveling all the time between the cities in AC2.
Origin's atmosphere was soo insanely cool. I felt like i was there. Tbh the RPG mechanics aren't even as noticeable as in Odyssey or Valhalla.
Black Flag is the best AC game and also the best pirate game ever made.
Facts
The only downside is the combat, don't get me wrong it's fun but after an hour or 2 it gets repetitive and the combat is so easy you only have to spam attack but other than that it's a good game

Personally,revelations was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. First game that made me read the whole cast at the end. Also rogue was amazing
first time I saw the ending, I had goosebumps and cried a bit it was beautiful.

Anyone who want to get into AC games should definietly play it first. To get the idea behind the Assasin games. This list was far from perfect but narcissists thinks they are perfect and cant be wrong lol
I think the RPG and levelling mechanics gatekeep you from going wherever from the get go and personally don't think the settings were really AC material as half the fun of the older games was climbing what you imagine these places to have been, I actually would like to have had the loadout system from the newer games in the older games but have it be cosmetic/give you some bonus for hunting the new set down, I also love how alive they made the newer settings with NPCs but thats to be expected, even syndicates london felt really freaking cool to just exist in.
The newer games also all but removed the future plot, I would like to see it either just forgotten about after one set in
Origins is probably the toughest one for me to rank personally as it was at its core quite the decent title but it also marked the shift to a style of ubisoft games from the more laid back COD style formula where you were some op dude who could take on entire armies alone or carefully stealth your way through to the whole division dark souls style gameplay era that would come and damage not only AC but almost every main ubi franchise in years to come (FC New dawn, GR Breakpoint and even Watch dogs legion far as i can recall but my memory of that game is hazy at best as i only played it once on a friends PC)
The second problem Origins had imo was that it released in the same year GR wildlands dropped a game which went in a completely different direction (one i was hoping ubisoft would follow)
You were always the ‘Op dude’ in ac games. Origins didn’t start that at all. In AC4, 3, rogue you could kill waves of 30/40 enemies without every stopping it was ridiculous.
@@captainstu I believe the ''OP character trait'' ENDED with Origins as you were nothing more than a number walking amongst other numbers having to learn countless moves to dispatch of your enemies (the septimus fight is a prime example for that) previous titles like syndicate and unity did already change up the combat quite a bit and far as i recall they did introduce enemy levels in the latter but it didnt play nearly as much of a role back then.
When i think about AC combat endless counter kill moves, defense breaks, perhaps a quick grab and maybe a roll or jump back to avoid bein hit by one of the heavies comes to mind with the occasional human shield in the later entries but you never had to worry about some stupid grunt attackin you with 7 different styles and a spongy healthbar on top.
Bein that op dude on screen while leanin back in the chair irl downin a few beers all while smashing left and rightclick at the same time as ezio was simply fun for the same reason shootin down 20 helicopters in gta takin out entire armies usin deadeye in rdr and fus roh dahin 5 imperials and a mammoth off a cliff in skyrim was fun constantly havin to check your gearscore before every fight (at least in my opinion) is not
The OP thing started in Brotherhood when you could do the chain counter attacks

I think the criticism for the barren desert in origins is that they just shouldn't have set it in Egypt if 60% is desert. Whereas black flag there are multiple engagements on the sea as well as mechanics to gain speed, shanties etc.
I would agree with you if it wasn’t for the fact the fan base was specifically requesting for either Egypt or Japan.

I love ac 2 and 3 but
I actually love syndicate so much i just love the twins the combat the world characters stealth outfits and you gotta give props to the old vechiles the vechile fights the weapons and the parkour i just love it alot
I played all AC games except Valhalla. And Syndicate is my favourite game so far.
This is the only AC game in which I have the platinum trophy by the way.

I’m playing it right now, and I agree for the most. However, the parkour feels like a direct downgrade from unity and the combat feels out of place.
But other than that I love the twin duo and setting so far.

What's really funny is, I saw Valhalla and Syndicate at the top in the thumbnail and thought, "hey, this guy likes the same things I do, maybe I'd agree with the whole list..." just to find out that you hate both of them. lol. I'd put those two and Black Flag in the top for sure.

I wouldn't say it was the best overall. The modern day Abstergo stuff was awful. The worst in the series in my opinion as far as the modern day setting.

Ok let me get this straight. AC Odyssey and Valhalla are not underrated, they're "Overhated" but not underrated. Odyssey is literally a game of the year nominee and has awards for the best open world of the year and holds a solid 9/10. Valhalla maintains a stronf 8/10 rating and sometimes even reaches 9/10 and rarely bellow 8. Both games are pretty good, but they're just not ac games, they're better off as spin off games. They're overhated, but not underrated since they're pretty well rated already.

I've been playing valhalla for a minute now I'm at the power level of like 115 I will say the leveling is annoying but it is making me go play side content which is great I've been loving it so far I'm just keeping in mind this isn't really assasins creed it is a viking game and I love it alot because I love vikings and I love this game I believe it's super underrated in the ac community and I'm genuinely enjoying it so as I respect your right to having an opinion I harshly disagree
I started playing Valhalla recently and I love it. Yes it is basically just a Viking game, but I personally don’t even think it’s bad. I hated Origins because there were too many side quests and the story honesty was forgettable for me. So hearing that Valhalla was an rpg, I had a feeling I would hate it but no I don’t. It really doesn’t deserve the hate it gets. I know it’s not good, but it’s really not awful either.
I had the most fun with odyssey. But it’s more like a poor The witcher 3. But that’s still better than alot of other ”open world” games

It's great to see all the different opinions. For example, For me the best one is ac 2, and ac 3 was the one that I spent more hours. I really like ac rogue story line. I got bored of odyssey, and I couldn't finish it. But I really enjoy playing Valhalla because I like vikings history and all that stuff 😂 at the end of the day I think they are all great games, are they all "pure" assassin's Creed game, though? I don't think so. But they are all good games. Great video 💪
It all comes down to our preferences. Personally, I love the ancient civilizations and I absolutely played the crap out of Oddyssey but quit Valhalla after like 30 hours

@ac_nerd9794 that's my point, it's great to see how different people's opinions are. My problem with oddysey is that I was playing the Witcher 3 before playing oddysey; so I saw oddysey just as a bad rpg game. But it doesn't mean is a bad game, I've been playing it recently. And I agree, Valhalla is well written; there are a lot of metaphoric things, between eivor dreams, his way of imagining Odin memories. I've just finished dawn of Ragnarok too. I understand that the game is overwhelming there soo much things to do, and eventually we get bored or tired of it. Really you liked eivor? I think Magnus bruun did a great job playing it. Overall, at the end of the day. It's our personal preference, I've never been really Interested in Greek mythology. But I have been a huge fan of Norse and Egyptian mithology and its history. I don't know it's kinda going nowhere when speaking about the trilogy of ac RPGs. am I right? They're great games anyways
@@alannnXavier All valid points. To me, I think people just automatically think Odyssey is a Witcher III copy and for me, it's not. It doesn't do hardly anything remotely similar. It's taking us to a time most of us would love to visit and it's a prequel to the entire series. I loved Odyssey just because there was a lot to do but it never felt like there was too much. Valhalla has how many maps and it easily has too many things on each map for me. I honestly like Greek, Norse, and Egyptian mythology so seeing it incorporated into the first civilization was cool to me.
Maybe I'm crazy but I loved Syndicate, the two assasins with different personalities, though I consider Jacob more of a gangster than an assasin tbh. I also liked the Jack the Ripper stuff

Yeah, I really don’t understand anybody saying Origins > Odyssey unless you REALLY care about Bayek being a bit better of a protag than Kassandra. I also think that the setting of Greece lends itself to more exciting exploration, especially when compared to Egypt which gets a little bit repetitive with so much desert
@@whitelightning2100 odyssey gets shit on all the time for no real reason. i really do not fkn get it and it makes me kinda mad. how can you not see how amazing they did ancient greece? how can you say kassandra is bland? she's so cool. for me odyssey is a great game BECAUSE it is not really an AC of old. it is an aamzing open world game though, realized in a fantastic world, with a really solid combat system (especially compared to valhalla and origins), many historic and mythical things to explore, that i want to explore, even when it has freakin question marks. i wanted to have all that and was excited for valhalla, but they ruined it. yes, i know it was not the same team that made odyssey ( which i think made the immortal game nobody played).

Kassandra/Alexios is a bad mixture of an established character and a self-insert.
Ending up with you essentially mind-controlling the character to do things they may not normally do.
It's trying and failing at both making you experience the world through the character and their beliefs and motivations, and/or giving you a completely blank slate to do what you want.
Your in-game choices have no impact on anything.
You can slaughter a town, pay off the arbitrary bounty, and move onto a quest about stopping someone from slaughtering a town.
Level Scaling makes power progression meaningless, as you can never feel stronger than your enemies.
The game messed up not only the lore of the series but also real world history, missing the date of the creation of the pyramids by thousands of years
And of course, the entire game is slightly but noticeably skewed towards the time-savers in the cash shop.

First AC still has the best plot. It is complicated enough and rises philosophical questions. While all other AC games are simple stories of revenge or "let's kill all bad guys!"

Indeed. Its the only real Assasin creed game in whole series. Real Assasins never killed all bad guys and try to create chaos for the sake of fun, their goal was just to eliminate some of the most relevant and powerful figures in the society they lived in. Was those people allways even bad... No. The Assasins or the man behind Assasins had his own agendas.
Right now I’m playing ac origins first ac I’ve ever played really looking forward to starting from the first game and understanding the lore and plot of the whole series from the beginning

I've played everyone since ac 1 was released and I think that the list is pretty fair. It made me so glad to see someone who had problems with Valhalla for reasons other than the rpg elements.

Black Flag is my favorite by faaaaaaar. The setting and Edward just resonated so much with me! I am one of the few that didn't care THAT much for Ezio. I understand his charm, and the writing is incredible in 2 and Brotherhood, however I just didn't resonate with it. I havent yet played anything after Rogue, and seeing your vid, along with Muta's AC tier list, has me thinking I have to at least play Unity before going to the RPG AC's with Origins. I just never got into it cause I don't resonate with Rennaisance Europe at all, that time in history is complete SH*T in my opinion, but Unity seems like it does have its charms, so I ought to at least give it a try I guess.
Reason you cant resonate with older ac games is that you are a zoomer. I played old ac games on day 1 everything was new and addicting

I think ac1 is the best, I mean what their could be missing on that game? Parkour decent, the combat is my favorite one on the whole ac franchise, it's just balanced, not to difficult or too easy, and the setting is just right for portraying the real life HASHSHASHIN, the atmosphere is mysterious and feels dangerous and that's what makes it great, and if you say the mission structure is repetitive, well you are right, but it does it's thing of being an assassin it dosen't waste your time on doing missions like some random mission that has nothing to do with the Assassin Order. And add some Sci-fi bits into it and then it's perfect.

The main thing that makes this game great is really the assassin fantasy, if you have no imagination, and feel for the game's atmosphere, I can definitely see it being to boring for its lack of animations and its repetitive mission structure.
I agree. I loved AC1 game and its atmosphere. And its not nostalgia because I played it first time in last year.
It's ridiculous to put it in miss out cathegory while its tells the story of actual real Assasins and Templars back in the days and is the roots and the truest game in the whole series. AC 2 is sequel and if one just jump in that game without first playing AC1 they miss out the whole point of being Assasin and assasins games in the first place.
I personally enjoy Valhalla so much that it’s the best AC imo, idk is it the theme but it’s very interesting. I do agree going 3km with a horse all the time is getting annoying at some point but there’s alot to explore…everything is just far away from each other, but anyways, Valhalla gets ”The best AC of all time” from me
Brotherhood was my favorite assassins creed of all time too! So fun to play several hours a day, I beat the game so fast and kept on replaying it exploring stuff I didn’t see or do previously. 👍🏼

Origins has best atmosphere and character, but i ended up preferring Odyssey because the rpg system works better for making your character what you want to be. Also the game doesn't restricts you close areas with level caps as much as Origins did, and most of the side content like conquests and side missions are way more interesting and fun to do. The overall experience felt way less restricted than Origins level capping and farming problems which i hated

ehhh I would have to disagree. Overall I think if you want to go for which game had the best atmosphere between them I don't think you can really say any of the gen 1 ac titles really upped one another in that regard. But in terms of ideology conflict it would have to either be 3 or 1. As in 3 you actually feel this level of understanding of both sides as neither are necessarily the better of two evils at least under Hathams rule.

Its that cultish, eerie vibe that it has most of the times, the limited social stealth which really makes me feel like a blade in crowd etc what I love about AC1 and regarding the ideology? Yes I do think AC3 is the only game that tried to show the conflict after AC1, whichever you like between AC1 & 3, it's far better than the cartoonishly evil antagonists we got in ezio trilogy, it being my main issue about it
@@Exiled7 well the thing is I bought the first assassins creed when ps3 came out and it was one of the release titles. It was actually really groundbreaking for it’s time. If you’re gonna compare it to the other games then it’s justifiable that there’s others that were better. But for what it was it was a stellar game.

I've played Valhala for 144hrs straight and im not even half through the story. it got so boring i started to skip all the dialogue just so i can fast forward and progress, for some reason looking back now i loved Odessay cus i managed to complete it 100%
Yeah I think one big issue I have with Valhalla is how bloated the game is with trash content. But then the main story feels like side content was put into it. I found that Valhalla had some areas in the story that made me think they would be amazing areas if it was side content as it didn't feel as if it added anything to the main story. Unpopular opinion. That's the best AC after Black Flag. The time and the place are soo good. Ancient Egypt what more do you want. The open world was insanely good, Bayek was soo good as a character. I had so much fun platinuming this game with a pal of mine. That's a memory I will always keep.

I defeated legendary ships in black flag, I felt like I accomplished my life when I did it lol.
Then I platinum’d Origins and Odyssey, felt so good and lots of memories.
Valhalla story and combat was great, but it got boring after a while, I hated how door is barred everywhere, I didn’t like some of stupid events like doing hallucination and rocks, although I finished Valhalla but I felt like it was more of a chore than fun like Origins & Odyssey, where you have to go back to raiding to get resources to get rewards you want.
Origins & Odyssey gameplay are so much easier and fun rather than grinding, yes Odyssey is long and grinding game but it’s easy if you’re hooked into it just doing fun grind, the story with choices, leveling system and hunting legendary animals and hunting order of ancients, looting underwater, naval combat is what got me hooked.
AC II is not only the best AC by bar but also one of the best games ever made. So it’s an absolute disgrace that you didn’t put it in the highest tier.
would love to agree but Brotherhood is technically a better game and sorted a lot of the issues people had with the second game. I love the second game and prefer its story to brother hood but that doesn't make it a better game.

I agree. I tried to play black flag several times but it never could keep my interest up long enough to even finish it. Many other AC games I could not stop playing and wanted to explore everything in the game.

Odyssey was just so immersive and beautifully designed felt like I was actually in Ancient Greece. Not to mention all the customization and role playing elements. Truly loved that game.

i can agree with most of your list, however, i'd have to move the first game up a tier. i understand that you were young and came in at the second game, but you don't know the hole the first game filled. nothing was doing what it did. from the smoothness of the traversal, to the way combat worked with dedicated animations of swords clashing together and countering your enemies, to how the social stealth worked differently from things like hitman. sure a lot of those elements dont seem so smooth now, and the first game was repetitive, but i always forgave the repetitiveness of it for all of the new gameplay features it brought to the table.

I only played Syndicate before I bought Valhalla, so I had no expectations except that I wanted to play a good viking game. Now it turned out to be an awesome one. I absolutely loved it eventhough I just finished red dead 2 before it, and as you know, its a way more complex game than any ac out there, but I dont feel its right to measure the two games on the same level.
But as I have some ac loving friend and after I watched some playthroughs of other ac games, I understand the anger of og ac players.
But again, if you are thinking about buyimg valhalla, and you are not an og ac player, I strongly reccomend it, especially if you have thirst for open world medieval rpgs. Its truly a great game, with a great story, with shitload of content.

I’ve got the full collection on both pc and playstation and i truly love valhalla but it shouldn’t had been an ac game bc it has almost no connection to the real ac games. If they had released it as just a new game. not connected to ac at all it would had been better.
You made the games prior to AC4 Black Flag not about your personal opinion and gave the rankings in a way of how the rankings should be placed. But for AC4 you dropped it down because of your personal opinion which doesn't make since how you were doing the previous rankings not based on "personal opinion", but when you were ranking AC4 you gave the game perfect scores all around but since you personally didn't replay it that many times makes for that ranking being placed unfairly.

I'm more talking about Desmond's story, there is so much context given to Desmond's story in AC1, the mini recaps before each game of Desmond's story just isn't the same. All the details, big and small in AC1's modern day with Vidic and Lucy literally set the foundation for the story of the series. I couldn't imagine playing through the series while skipping AC1, there's so many future contexts and important moments that you're not going to pick up on or understand the significance of. That to me is what makes the storytelling of the series (AC1-AC3) so great. But that's just my opinion.

I really like Rogue not for it's gameplay but rather the mortality of the story and different point view. The story really focus don't judge the organization by its name and reputation. There are good people even in a "evil"organization and bad people in "good". The game was very grey rather a simple good guy vs bad, I haven't played the recent game so I don't know much story. I just wish they add a little to game and story but I understand the game was coming out same as unity due to translation to new gen at the time.

I'm stunned that you put Odyssey in the OK rank. Much better than Origins. By far the best RPG AC. The best AC game in a long time.
The game world was amazing and varied and had ship combat from Black Flag. The combat had more flavour to it with the abilities. The story was much better with a lot of content having a bit of humour and the protagonist having a bit of whit and character. Very important for a game as long, big and grindy as these new AC games. The villan being tied to your family gave it an interesting dynamic. The spartan vs athens wars were an interesting mini game. Ancient Greek history has more to it than ancient Egypt. I found Origins extremely repetitive, grindy and boring. Especially where the game world beyond the praymids (which were amazing), to feel the same and the world felt too big.

World design was amazing, combat was literally the best cause of the many play styles you could freely decide on, theme was insanely good in the sense you could literally go to the fighting pits, fight the mythical creatures and stuff.

AC Valhalla is surely the best, the amount of sidequest is massive maybe kinda like odyssey but more better plus the roguelike DLC forgotten saga is cool, new and fun. Tons of things to do and its worth it if your a viking fan also.

Yes its a beautiful game and the setting is nice thats true but the only people that can enjoy this game are non assassins creed fans and people who like endless grinds which this game was. I gave it another chance 3 weeks ago and i just couldn't do it. There was nothing in the game to keep me engaged at all. Dont take it the wrong way if you enjoy it more power to you m8. But i legitimately believe this is their worst product of the franchise.
@@blackvalio4060 well, I dissagree with your opinion about the story. It was served well and you can make decisions that can really affect the game. I get that you didn't liked the level system. Because if we are really assassins we should be able to kill no matter if the enemy is higher level than us. But this system was first introduced with origins not odyssey. Voice acting was a bit strange, I agree but I think it is caused by the Greek accent they were trying to give. I think side missions in this game is outstanding if we apply the low quality side quest standards of AC series. Every mission has cut scenes and most of them have unique stories. In the gameplay side I think it is still one of the best because in the end game you become an absolute monster and spam your abilities which turns the game in to a power fantasy game. And those finisher animations are so satisfying. If you get bored with your play style you can change your build type in a minute and play with different abilities and stats. In origins the skill tree was just piece of shit but in odyssey every skill point you get, you can feel the difference with ease. This is why I love this game so much and still playing till now.

I started Valhalla then Odyssey-Origins-Unity-Syndicate& finally Mirage. Total of 6 in this series the most I’ve enjoyed& highly recommended definitely goes to Unity. It’ll always have a special place in my heart.. the rest yet to explore! Any intros?

Honestly valhalla is underrated. Imo it's mid but not bad. The combat is very fluid and the story is good. The problem is that the story drags on for way to long and it doesn't have that essential assassin's creed game element that AC2 and black flag have

Saying that you can miss out on AC1 is crazy to me. This is THE game that started it all with unmatched atmosphere and story. If I wanted to introduce someone to the series I'd tell them to play it to see what was lost later. These games are story and atmosphere driven, also even today gameplay is very smooth and enjoyable. How can you put it beneath "almost good" implying that it was just downright bad? This is criminal, idk man you're just wrong. Also AC2 lower than Brotherhood and Revelations even lower. The jump between almost good and extremely good without nothing in-between is just inappropriate there, almost good is just downright bad wording, never rate again
I stand corrected. I was mistaken. Replaying this game for the first time after so long has cleared my vision. It was going well at first, hence the comment. But became so tedious after a while. I wish you were wrong, but I was in fact blinded by nostalgia. The plot and the story, the atmosphere are still so mesmerizing today, but the gameplay... This game needs a remake, it really aged. But it's crucial to understand the entire lore of this franchise so I'd still say it's good to familiarize yourself with it even via CZcams.

I think it was still good for 16 year old game and I dont see any reason I would need to even compare it to current day games. I liked it simlicity and it had charm of its own.
And people complaine that it is repetative and then love Valhalla and other rpgs where they do repetative missions 200 hours and loves it!
At least AC 1 was not too long, so few repetative missions didnt kill the story and made completing it still enjoyable. Valhalla got me bored and frustrated even before starting because it felt like massive task, not enternteinment.
I hate it when people say "What do you expect?" as if it's the consumers job to make a game good. We didn't pick Egypt. Ubisoft picked Egypt. If it sucks because of Egypt, that's not on consumers. "What did you expect? Assassin's Creed on the moon sucks. There's nobody there to assassinate. So, you just walk around on a moon all day doing nothing because that's just how it is." Which is basically the argument for Starfield.

Does anyone else not understand the hype for Bayek’s character and story? I think the most interesting thing about him is the medjay arch which exists more in the background of the story than being a focus. And his revenge plot is just a hollow reskin of Ezio’s AC2 arch. I just don’t find the story of origins as moving as say any of the Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, or even AC 3. As such, I’ve always grouped it closer to Odyssey (which I do have higher than this list admittedly but still below most older AC games). Good, but not great games via the new combat systems, scale, and settings, but somewhat lacking in narrative focus.
Odyssey was one of my favorites. Got Valhalla and deleted it a few days later
