- I finally am able to shift the ben calimer stage 3 trans and man, it's worth the wait, the crisp smooth engagement at 8k rpms coupled with the RXT clutch is a pretty darn great combo.

My 16 gt has a calimer stage 3 mt82 also its been great. Im built motor twin turbo, best ive been so far is 4.92 60-130.

That’s how I shift! I’ve been telling people if you shift like this you can and will keep up with Automatics, and sometimes even beat them. Maybe not on the 10 speeds since those just always keep you in the perfect powerband.
Cant speak for the mustangs but most 10 speeds are geared like 6 speeds. It’s weird
@@Whotta mustang is not geared that way. 1-2-3 is slightly shorter than a 6 speed, but 4-5-6 are stacked within just a couple hundred RPM of each other. 7th is 1:1 and 8-9-10 are overdrives
This is what I've been saying too. As far as just shift times alone if you can drive there is very minimal difference in shift times. The 10 speed like you said has a big time gearing advantage which has more to do with why its quicker than the shift speed but everyone always makes it about the shifting and they act like a true 3 pedal manual cannot come close to the shift speeds of a modern auto and that just isn't true. Now people who have the driver mod and far and few between these days so most people saying that probably haven't ever seen a manual shifted properly.
@@gingersmedia this...it is geared much much steeper that is why it stays above 6k every shift even with a 3.15 gear out back. It's not rocket science. If you had equal gearing there would be minimal difference between them. 7th is 1:1 like you said and 4th is on most manuals. 5th is on 11-17 mt82s (which were geared much better better 18 up mt82s) I look at it like this. It's like it has a real steep first (the 10r80) then it has a 1st and a half gear...then 2nd, then second and a half, then 3rd, then 3rd and a half, then 4th is 1:1 (actually 7th in those) imagine if a 6 speed had a much steeper 1st and half gears in between the first 3 gears. It's no wonder the 10 speed is quicker it has an insane gearing advantage but it being quicker has little to do with shift speed alone (assuming you have the driver mod like I said most dont)
Its refreshing to see someone else online who isn't totally retarded and understands these things props to you.
This is how I shift too. Refreshing seeing others do it were a dying breed.
I'll be honest . I had to watch this video a few times . First times all I did was close my eyes and listen to beautiful sound . Wow those shift as so so crisp .

Thanks for the great content! When I ran 160+ with my GoPro mounted it flew off, but was saved because I tied a secure string thru the unit. Maybe you can tie your GoPro to the trunk hook in case it fails. Keep up the great work. Cheers

Could you do a 60-130 run shifting normally (lift, clutch in, shift, clutch out, floor it)? Wonder how much time is saved vs. speed shifting?

If you can't shift then you need to work on your drivers mod. It's stupid to say could you "shift normally". He is shifting normally.
@@uchinster8 Alex doesn’t lift his foot off the gas all the way. Only partially. Don’t come at me cause I can drive. But my observation of the general public is a full release of the gas pedal in between shifts.

Would you prefer a t56 or t56 magnum or a 6r80 or a 10r80 for my 95 ford thunderbird coyote build looking at around 750 horsepower after vmp supercharger and headers and all just a fun daily or weekend car maybe light racing not any serious racing though! But wanting to manual swap it but not sure how either of them transmissions pair with a coyote!

I've got a calimer stage 3 waiting to go for my Boss 302 also with an RXT. What flywheel are you using and I hear constantly that the RXT will tear up the calimer. What does the D4 terminology mean?
D4 is gen 3
RXT will not tear up a stage 3, talked to a guy at Calimer direct before placing my order

I had a 2021 GT Premium with a manual MT82 transmission. Complete garbage! I could put up with the plastic interior, engine tick and the glitchy electronics, but the drive train was garbage. Kept the GT for 2 months and unloaded it....was a pile of junk. Bought a real car from another manufacturer with a standard TREMEC couldn't be happier...FU FORD! BTW - if you did buy this POS with a MT82 you can join the class action suit!
