  • In this candid unedited video I repair a not 9 but 13 year old FujiFilm S5700 camera.
I make a few embarrassing mistakes while being blinded by the lighting but get there in the end.
In a win for the environment I save it from landfill.
Total cost including camera is $22.16.
Would you repair it, or throw it out?
Buy on eBay.com, you might find a really good deal on a used camera:
    Cameras: ebay.us/yB4AGn
    Replacement LCD: ebay.us/Pvjt2X
    B7000 Glue: ebay.us/kYrPPP
    Buy on eBay.com.au:
    Cameras: ebay.us/lKPrCo
    Replacement LCD: ebay.us/2UgNFC
    B7000 Glue: ebay.us/bzMEfO
Tip: Keep unopened glue in the fridge, it will have a longer shelf life!

Thank You wery much for Your instruction. I have bought my S5800 for approx. $2.5 with broken screen), and new screen for approx. $22.5, and have repaired it just a moment ago. Satisfaction has no price! And yes - we have 2022, and I still will be use it!

I really loved my old S7000, but the sensor went bad and it costs $90 for a new sensor when you can buy a used S7000 for $20-$30. I've relegated it to the back of my cabinet of used electronic gear and use a Nikon D5100 now.

Yeah there is always a limit $90 is too much, it may be good for parts for someone. I have an S6500D which has a versatile lens that takes really good macro shots, so this S5700 has been largely unused, but still I enjoyed repairing it

I tried converting this one to an Infrared camera, works great for my new project to capture stars in Infrared. If you are not using this camera and don't mind donating it away, I live in Poland and postal fees is not so much :)

I have exactly the same plan, to remove the ir filter from its sensor, is it easily removable?

@@richtigPL I'd says it's relatively easier compared to most cameras, but I still haven't been able to fix the focusing
