    Only a heads up! It does only fit USA model 2020 Z900 if you disable the helmet lock mounted on the left side of the frame!

    I hope the it won't scratch the painted part of the body.

    Is it possible to ride with bags and a passenger? Have you tested this solution? what conclusions?

    what is the diameter of these rods?

    With weight in them, did they ever rub thru the paint on the bodywork or mar it in any way? Thanks for your time.

    • @Craigs-corner
      @Craigs-corner  Před 4 lety

      attra91 I use a piece of rubber sheet that is normally used for lining a toolbox drawer (it drapes over the passenger seat and over each side of the rear bodywork) and then install the bags over the top of the rubb sheet...works great! I’ve loaded 3 days worth of clothes, extra tools, first aid kit, etc....no problems at all.

    Eliminate the fender and put in an integrated tail light no? Then you don't have to worry about signals at all. Did this with my ZX6R.

    did you use those white stickers? or is the damage okay?

      Hello, Hans. I did not use the included film; instead I cut a piece of tool box liner (link below) that was long enough to go over the pillion seat and hang over the side of the rear body, thereby keeping the main flap of the bags from sliding on the seat, and also protects the bodywork from chaffing. It has worked well…no rub marks on the bodywork, and when the bags are removed, no unsightly protective film on the bodywork. You can fix the tool box liner at most hardware stores or online. Here is a link to something similar to what I used. I've been looking for some one that has a set of these bags to see if the main strap will fit under the passenger seat. I have a zip up cowl tail bag which is basically the passenger seat, and I can't use the main strap over it. Have you tried running it under rather than over?

    • @Craigs-corner
      @Craigs-corner  Před 5 lety

      Josh Pixley I have not. The straps are pretty heavy duty...I’ll try that after work and see if I can get the passenger seat to latch and I’ll let you know.

    • @Craigs-corner
      @Craigs-corner  Před 5 lety

      Josh Pixley I tried to affix the passenger seat to the bike with the flaps underneath, and it just doesn’t work. The flaps are too bulky (thickness wise) and a bit long (front to back) to allow the hook on the seat to engage the rear part of the frame, and still allow the latch to engage. I tried several times....it just won’t work.

      CKZBinMO thank you for trying. How’s the bags held up? Unfortunately there not man options for the r3, and these seem they’d be the most secure bags. Others with out the mount look like they’d flop around a bunch.

    • @Craigs-corner
      @Craigs-corner  Před 5 lety +1

      Josh Pixley they have been awesome! I just took a two day ride, up northern GA, into TN, Cherohala Skyway to the Dragon, then NC-28 and overnight in Maggie Valley. Next day, ride part of Blue Ridge Pkwy, then War Woman and back to Atlanta area via GA Hwy 129/19, Hwy 180 and Hwy 60....a lot of the nations best MC roads...high speed cornering, rain, triple digit speeds, wheelies...these bags are like having hard bags...no shifting, movement or flapping. Plus, they expand and hold a lot! I highly recommend them!

      @@Craigs-corner excellent video and thanks for sharing your experience. Planning to buy for my Z900 and this is very helpful. My onle question is if they interfere in any way with the indicators ?

  • @trekreview
    @trekreview Před 5 lety +1

    Are they okay for having a passenger on the back with you?

    • @Craigs-corner
      @Craigs-corner  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, the bags really don’t interfere with a passengers legs (I had my daughter sit on the bike), but the flaps that join the two sides go over the passenger seat pad. I don’t think it would be comfortable to sit on it for an extended period of time.

    Do you have a link to this SB Moto? I can't find them on Google :-(

    • @Craigs-corner
      @Craigs-corner  Před 5 lety +1

      Thomas R. Smith Here is the link to SD-Moto in France. They’re currently 319 Euro, which is $361 US dollars. By comparison, Revzilla has them at $452. SD-Moto must have changed their free shipping threshold, as their site says free Intl shipping for any order over 399.99 Euro. You might want to start the checkout process and see what their Intl shipping costs to see if it’s cheaper than ordering from Revzilla. You’d have to spend an additional $90 to qualify for free shipping, which would defeat the purpose. www.sdmoto-parts.com/en/z900/3544-sw-motech-blaze-panniers-set-kawasaki-z900.html

      @@Craigs-corner Thanks for the link! I appreciate the help! I would order directly from SW Motech but they won't ship to the US directly only to their distributor. Actually, I have a Z900RS and Revzilla and Twisted Throttle don't even have that unit in stock. Impossible to find in the US. Thanks again!

    • @Craigs-corner
      @Craigs-corner  Před 3 lety +1

      They make a set specifically for the Z400. I’m not sure where you live, but you could probably do a search on the item number and see if an distributors in your country carry them. You could also order directly from SW Motech. sw-motech.us/products/luggage/saddlebags/BLAZE/4052572057773.htm
