  • This ASSA 700 is a very tough lock to pick. It has 7 pin chambers and security pins in each of them. We have Gin-, Christmas. and tapered-drivers in the bible and torpedo pins in the core. This was very tough to learn, but finally got it under control. 😊
    This is my first lock I could successfully pick, that is ranked as a black belt in the LPU belt system. Super happy right now 🤗
    Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video, feel free to like and subscribe!
    Happy picking, stay legal :)
    LPU belt ranking of this lock: black

    Well done indeed.
    It's always nice to get the quick open but especially nice with this type of lock.
    Vero nice pins inside this one and it just shows how well you did for the open.

      Thanks 🤗 yes, I am super happy about it. It never behaved better on camera and I had to convince it to play along at all for quite some time 😅

    Congratulations!! Amazing show of skills there. 🙌
    You made that look fairly simple, and I know it's far from it!
    I bet a fair bit of time and practice went into that one.
    All the best

      Yes this is one of the best takes i got on camera 😅 and yes i practiced it quite a bit beforehand, but never fully got the tapered drivers under control 🤷‍♂️ They just behaved a little different every time 🙃
      I wish you all the best as well,
      Cheers 🍻

    Dude. Bro. That was awesome. What an exhibition of skill and practice! Congrats on your first BB lock :D Would you be able to venture a guess as to how many hours you put into learning it? I'm at probably 10-15 hours over a few months and haven't been able to get more than 3 of the 4 xmas trees progressively, not to mention even adding the tapered back in.

    • @LockFumbler
      @LockFumbler  Před rokem +2

      Thanks 🤗
      Hm difficult to say for my first open it took me maybe like 10-12 hours of progressive pinning 🤔 then another 3(?) Until I had it under control so I could video it. Mostly guessing here though, I often loose time when I am working on locks 😅
      It helped me a lot to write down the binding order step by step while I was progressive pinning it 🤗 and here I found basically two binding orders, one to get into the milling and one once you are in the milling to get to shear.
      I hope that helps, and don't get frustrate by that lock, it is just sooo satisfying once you get it open 👌👌

      @@LockFumbler I keep hearing about this binding order thing and until recently never considered it a factor. And the LPL, whom I have learned most of my recent skills from, has never mentioned it. When he does SPP he usually starts at pin #1 and goes 2,3,4,5, etc. then starts again at #1 and repeats the same sequential order each time. Comments?

    • @LockFumbler
      @LockFumbler  Před rokem +1

      @Central Coast Transparency ah yes, binding order is the order in which the pins needs to be set. This is given by the imperfections in the lock. LPL goes front to back, but also he needs to obey the binding order. Each time he says "nothing on x" you know this pin he is pushing on does not bind yet and he will have to go back to it. The pins he is saying like "x is binding" if you follow his order you will get the binding order of the lock. Can be anything, like 5-2-1-3-4 or 1-5-4-3-2, ...

    • @1AAudits
      @1AAudits Před rokem

      @@LockFumbler right, no, I understand what binding order is/means, as I’ve watched your vids as well, I just never knew about it until I started watching you. And yes, LPL’s procedure doesn’t include it. Though I’ve never seen him NOT successfully open something. But I doubt if he’d publish that.

    • @LockFumbler
      @LockFumbler  Před rokem +1

      @Central Coast Transparency yeah he usually doesn't go into too many details on how to pick because he keeps his videos rather short and on point. I am sure he has an idea of the binding order before he starts filming. His approach is just very methodical, which is very good as well just go front to back all over again until all binders are set and the lock is open 😅 he makes it look very simple 👌

  • @1AAudits
    @1AAudits Před rokem

    Easier to pick upside down? Or is that considered typical for European locks? Obviously I’m across the pond.

    • @LockFumbler
      @LockFumbler  Před rokem +1

      😅 hm I don't think it really makes a difference in difficulty. Just my favorite picking direction is with pins at the bottom. I got used to that direction, mostly because all locks here are installed this way. Maybe with pins facing up it is a bit easier to find an overset pin since the keypin will be jammed at shear and not fall down. That being said, to me it is very hard to pick pins up, since I am just not used to it. I guess one should just pick as one preferes 🤗
      Thanks for watching,
      Cheers 🍻
